  1. Deeds and premiums in Jackal will feed the wallet anyway, if the process gets a smooth and stable biannual run, then it's already a nice income for the company. No need for additional fee.
  2. My barrel has turned into undistilled moonshine now, so seems to be working
  3. Not to be a party pooper, but with all the complains about huge deeds already hogging up most of animal numbers (in new servers), what do you think will happen with double the limits?
  4. I joined the experiment, created a barrel of fermenting moonshine just now. Can confirm, trade to other player gives the same message. Wood scrap is not owned by you. Trade aborted. My barrel, I cooked the 'shine, was my scrap, and I sealed it. Relogging with the barrel in inventory removes that error message and trade completes. Will see how the fermenting process goes
  5. There's something been bothering me. The demand "it needs to be random!". What is random? Java-mathematically, even the random function itself is not "truly" random, it's just "random enough". Do we want a dragon randomly spawn in our bedroom? Probably not. So we add criteria, must spawn x distance from deeds. But that's what it does now... and we're not happy, apparently. I don't know about NFI and I would not be surprised if there is different mechanics there. But Xanadu has had unique spawns all over the places. Just saying. It's not broken if it works as programmed. If some people have figured out the logic of the program, then good for them. Still doesn't mean it's broken. If the logic gets changed, and rewards remain high, then someone will figure out the logic, take advantage of it, and we're back to "fix it". I have not found a single unique in 6 years. But it's one of my goals. That day will come! I've been to one private slaying just recently, I don't even know why I was invited. Lucky with my friends list, I guess.
  6. I really like the idea to have it added to launcher, when the skin becomes available in shop. Doesn't need to be the main image, just a small thumbnail, to open the main forum/discord/social media link. "New bling available, go check it out!"
  7. I don't use the tunnel, I can't say how important it is to anyone else, nor do I want to doubt in anyone's ability to complete their projects. But I do find it odd that the thread and all information about the project is given by someone not even participating in the job, and the deed/project owner was not at all given in the original notice. I mean, good to get heads up, even if it's from 3rd party; but if one decides to completely shut down a widely used route for the public, then at least... eh, you get the idea. /shrugs
  8. How much time can anyone spend in character creation, there's only like.. 4 different settings Click and drag, helmet on, helmet off. (that counts as -1, sorry)
  9. Let's agree to disagree, shall we. Alts have minimal negative effect on cooperative play. Several in this thread have expressed that alts or no alts, it doesn't change our views towards social preferences. Many players would probably leave the game if they were forced to be more social. Many players with multiple alts are very social and cooperative. Easiest example is the heavily hated unique slaying groups. Many, if not all of them, have alts and somehow they still manage to cooperate; find and kill all those dragons! Also, I know nothing about PvP life, but I imagine that they're very cooperatively drinking beer next to catapults, while 5 alts are scouting and doing whatever other alty pvp things. Even yours truly here is not as hermit as he may sound to be and loves the occasional group farting, with and without alts. If your main agenda is to get me to play more cooperatively then how would that be of any help here? I would have two characters as before, be double effective and require even less outside assitance. Enchant all the tunnels! \o/ Says you! 😏 If you see world like that, then you're probably a good person. I get what you mean, but again, that's your perspective, why and how to play. I cant' see how an alt in Wurm is any different from an alt in WoW or Eve Online. Two characters always gives some kind of advantage over having just one. /clings to his alt /shrugs Bottom (-1) line, I do not see any relation in my friend list length and the number of characters I play. Godspeed and let there be many dead windmills on your crusade!
  10. I'd have to agree that the initial thought of "alts are bad!" is not really the main issue that OP tries to tell us. I think the real desire is to create more cooperative gameplay. Alts are not the root of evil here. Alts are workarounds, solutions, personal preference enhancers, "boosters" if you will, to problems and issues and (not necessarily flawed) mechanics that players have encountered. And I'd emphasize here personal preference. Not everything solved or boosted by alts is broken, or badly designed. As much as you try to improve the no-alt gameplay, as long as action=result then more=better and as long as there's any kind of classing or branching in character/skill system, people will create alts. It's being acknowledged and seeked There are many suggestion threads in this forum, which aim to decrease the need for alts. Multiple deeds per character. Bridge planning with planted pole. Dozens of discussions how to make priests more viable as main/solo characters. Every now and then some ideas are implemented, things do change, and let's hope devs keep improving the "less alts needed" side of the game. But in the end, alts won't disappear anywhere and I don't think they need to. It's not always the problem with other people, sometimes it's problem with me. Or is it a problem? If I have have the tools to complete a task on my own, within my own time, without depending on other people, then I choose to do so (not only in games). If creating an alt removes an obstacle, I will do that. If grinding a new skill helps me, I will do that. And after it's all done, I will go and brag to my neighbours "look, I did a thing, admire me!" If I can imp my shield to my desired QL, then I will do that; even with a skilled armor smith next door (and one of my best friends in game). He doesn't feel left out, he's damn proud of me! This is my multiplayer preference, not a problem. I prefer to complete my tasks on my own, but I also like to have some people around to occasionaly chat about a Florida man hitting an alligator with a fork or whatever. I think, current multplayer in Wurm works extremely well. It works just as much as any and each player wants it to work for themselves. If you don't see enough cooperation in this game, then perhaps other people around you (that you have met so far) are looking for something different. The problem is not in the alts; it's in the number of people.
  11. For starters, let me just chip in my two cents with tl;dr - as long as there are restrictions of any kind to play the full content of the game with one single character, there will be alts. I get the idea of OP. You want to see more Multiplayer in this MMORPG that Wurm is. What's the meaning of "multi" if a player can do everything without seeking out other players. Right? However. As I understand, you try to drive Wurm towards a no_alts_needed game. (minimize the necessity of alts) Here I must ask. If I could do everything without the need of alts, why would I seek out other players more? Long story short, I don't think the problem in the lack of cooperative play is in the alts. If there even is such a problem. Wurm is just one of those single-multiplayer games, where you can choose the level of "multi" as you see fit to your own personality. I like to do most things on my own, but I also like to go out and see what other players have done. I don't want to depend on other players to do something as easy as 3 tile bridge, but I also like that I either need to grind up my skills for 30 tile bridge, or find someone else who already can do that. My freedom of choice, in that sandbox of ours.
  12. Glow rings are popular replacement for lanterns, with a rather annoying drawback. They're always lit, even when in inventory. Let us toggle the glow on/off, or simply disable glow when not equipped. Right now, only way (that I know of) to "go dark" is drop them off your character. However, I guess there's room for arguments. Should they keep the drawback, so that lanterns would still have some kind of perk over the ring?
  13. Good points from previous posts that I can support: alt (zerg) armies to mass up the unique drops just by sitting in local range needs addressing. Bringing 10 alts in local range should not be rewarded. Hard to fix, sure. If we make it hit-for-reward, they just equip some armor and run up for a hit. If we make it damage based rewards, then new players will still be unhappy. But maybe just adding the hit-for-reward is one first step in right direction anyway. Add some more AoE damage from the uniques, increase risk for low levels. Sure, new players suffer too, but here we get to the next good point: uniques should remain high end goals. A new player can attend the slaying, they can get rewards, but there needs to be a risk for the value. Increased AoE damage, frequent target swapping. It's a dragon, you should be afraid to get close to it. That's why I lean towards damage based rewards; or better yet, time based rewards for staying in "contact" with the unique. You can't imp a hammer to 90ql with 20 skill, why should you get same reward from unique as a 90FS fighter? scheduling uniques, adding points, aka making them similar to rift system - just don't. Takes the "unique" out of everything if you can plan 2 months ahead. unique spawns and behaviour should be more random. Have them roam around the whole server, maybe a slight interest towards nearest spawn town. Being able to predict the next spawn time and "hotspot" areas is not unique. Also, if any random user creates such a thread in Town Hall, it'd get moved to suggestions
  14. Xanadu, T19 Not exactly on topic of mission creatures, but just showing the horse spawns in ocean.
  15. Has anyone actually found those "random" eggs, following those damn wabbits? It's been an hour, I've tried threats and I've tried carrots, killed a wolf to protect the egg bearers.. nothing has dropped.
  16. wiki is not officially part of the game; it's player maintained. Thus shouldn't be referred to as proof of game mechanics, really. Does the "examine" on the crown say "it could be improved by... "? If yes, then I guess good lawyers would win the case to give you the rare bone back Although I do agree that the improvement icons should be removed, I think that crown is not the only thing with such "bug". Sorry. I just woke up and I'm grumpy. But hey, on the plus side, you have a nice and shiny crown! All I've got is a slowly appearing bald spot.
  17. Might have been reported or asked previously.. but the difficulty indicators seem to be bugged. I ran into a couple huge spiders, they all showed "impossible" red icons for me. Unequipped my armor and equipped it again, next spiders were all "green" easy (as they should be) And a question about the targeting icons and combat "defend up/down/left/right" logic. Does the "defense directional bonus" help only with active target, or with anyone that's in combat with me? In case of the latter, could we have the targeting icons show on all mobs in combat with me, rather than just the one I've got targeted? For example, if 3 trolls are attacking me simultaneously, they all "attack up", and I "defend top", does it only help with my active target or all of them?
  18. Bump - a - 🦘 Meditation "Enchant grass" has been moved to Nature submenu, please move "Get Info" there too. Just look at the timestamps, it has been requested for years.
  19. Wurm Mail in general needs a lot of work, both visual and functional. It is an essential service in wurmians life and really awaits improvements. Clearer overview/confirmation screen. History of sent items, accepted items, pending, rejected, to who and when. Able to accept in all servers, not just where you got the delivery notification. Custom return delay if not accepted. All the other suggestions over the last many years. I'd like if the devs don't start fixing single issues one by one, and instead they lay out a good plan to improve the whole package. I can imagine that Wurm's mail code is one of those things no dev really wants to touch, but it's from stone age and needs to be addressed.
  20. I got diseased a couple days ago, while riding a horse and targeting/killing two sheeps on same tile 🤧
  21. Isn't an open discussion about presenting your point of view, and accepting that other opinions may exist? You say time is the reason rifts are "empty". I say it's the lack of incentive to go there. The first months of rifts were packed, even at 3 at night. Nowdays, biggest reason to attend for many players is the cape, the occasional restock of materials or just tagging along because nothing better to do. So yea, the time circulation as it is now, is fair for everyone. One day it's 8pm for you, some other day it's 8pm for the lads down in kangaroo land. Everything is fine.
  22. As I understand, they need to remove all "icky" QR codes and other inappropriate features one could be sued for But I am also very curious, why is it too soon for NFI? I would love to see what has been done there... If it's because of Defiance, then just exlude it.
  23. Yes, please. This has been requested many times since the bees were introduced more than 2 years ago. All kinds of chats and options have got toggle option meanwhile, but not bees
