So after being unable to find time to play Wurm for about half a year now I've come to the realization that I will probably never play again (at least not in the next 4 years while I'm both studying and working full time). As such, I'm selling off my beloved Kaloth. Kaloth has a Corbita and a deed on Deliverance server. The deed is at about 37y 39x (Sandy Hollow). The deed has a mine with plenty of mid to low level iron veins in it and plenty of flat space for farming if that's what you're wanting to do (and plenty more space you can level out and flatten with a bit of digging and surface mining). Kaloth's more than competent when it comes to combat. I would frequently mount up and go big game hunting, roaming across the hills and valleys of Deli, searching out new things to kill and drag home. Kaloth is on the path of Love and can refresh himself for food and water, as well as enchant grass/trees. This comes in very handy if you plan to have any livestock on the deed. As I have not played him for a long time, Kaloth has no game-time.   5. It's actually about 8 tiles away, the cave slopes down just after where the visible light in the screenshot ends. It's also only a small part of what I'm suggesting. Ground clutter distance and hq texture render distance is the bulk of what I'd like to see.
  6. I'm hoping that it might be possible to have ground clutter go further than the ~10 tiles it currently does. I originally thought there might be some setting somewhere to increase it, but it seems its fixed. The original conversation can be found here: http://forum.wurmonl...ss-flowers-etc/ What I'm requesting is to have an option to extend the range of things like grass, flowers, etc that sprout up out of the ground. You can see in the screenshot below that after a few tiles it stops (just beyond the croc corpse), which really quite reduces the immersion level of the game due to the constant 'pop-in' of grass. Idealy I would like to see a maximum of about 5x the current distance (not recommended for all graphics cards, only for those with high-end). In addition, I'd like to see it increase the range at which light is rendered too. As you can see in the shot below, despite having ample lamps the section of my mine is quite dark in the near distance. When I go down there, however, it is quite bright. It's just not showing for some reason. This happens at about the same range that ground clutter stops showing, so I'm guessing it is related.

  9. I had a similar thing on my 3770k. What I did to solve it was set the model loading threads to 1 and priority to low. I was a little surprised to be honest that model loading could make it lurch so badly at times. I do run wurm off a SSD though, so it doesn't really get that caught up trying to load models - they still load amazingly fast despite the 1 thread count and low priority. If you're using a mechanical hard drive for it though, it might not work for you.
  10. I'm trying to find out how to make all the pretty stuff on the ground render beyond about 10 tiles. I've got everything set to max under the graphics and adv graphics tabs, and it still caps out at about 10 tiles. Beyond that distance there's no more grass that waves in the wind or flowers, and the resolution of the tiles drops significantly. Is there a way to increase the distance that these things render manually in the gamesettings.txt file? Below you can see a sample of what I see. The top line there's a slight black line that indicates the change in textures to a really rubbish quality (the line doesn't bother me, its the poor textures). The middle line shows a cut-off for grass. The bottom line indicates a slight bluring of the ground textures, but keeps the grass. I'm looking to extend all three points out to about 3x the distance they are now.
