  1. sadly for anything than the easiest meals it dosent work..... and char skills arent broken
  2. Hello everyone, because at times we don't like talking to ourselves, the Stormshield Alliance is recruiting new villages in the SW quadrant of Xanadu. The idea behind this alliance is to provide a community where people do not feel like they are playing alone, where larger projects can be worked together on and where you can just chat with someone else during the 'boring' parts of grinding Alliance Rules Be respectful to other alliance colleagues but also to people outside the alliance Never take something that does not belong to you without making sure you are allowed to Take ownership of your villagers - you are responsible to make sure your villagers abide by the alliance rules as well. If you cannot control your villagers your deed will be excluded from the alliance Quite a few members find excessive swearing bothersome, so please, refrain from such chat behavior Who are we looking for? Beginners or veterans alike that have the 'I will do it myself' mentality and do not want/ask for handouts Mature adults at least 18+ (as people can be adults by age, but not mature in any other way) - couples welcome! Easily offended people, or people that take things personally need not apply I hope to be able to welcome you in our alliance soon! Please feel free to post here, send me a forum or in-game PM (Thorakkanath) if you would like to join and feel that you fit the description Thor, King of Thunderstorm Keep Stormshield Alliance
  3. why? the difficulty hasnt changed, and you get paid per casted power not per time spent casting - all good imo good changes
  4. same here, same fix (of disabling and enabling SOMETHING) W7 64 pro 1920x1080 windowed fullscreen
  5. Q11 SW Xanadu - Deed name Thunderstorm Keep You are right, didn't mention it anywhere! Ill add it to the OP - thanks!
  6. @Steveleeb no no, that one is for the stable client - where the cobblestone model is just not right this one is for the prepared and paving actually clipping in and out of the bridge texture on the unstable client - two separate things on the stable there is no clipping of textures so that is not an issue, thus not the same bug
  7. Its simply breaking all immersion preparing the tile already breaks being too close to the actual bridge and incredibly bright adding paving does not change anything have a look at this short video https://i.gyazo.com/d5493ed79b9db662aff5544561edea6f.mp4 Unstable client version: 4.00-fac238d
  8. As you can see below, the cobblestone model on bridges needs to be rotated 90 degrees and become a darker shade to match the other cobblestone
  9. !!Special Promo!! 48h Limited Sale on all Blacksmithing and Weaponsmithing Potions* (while stocks last) !!Special Promo!!
  10. Thank you, that I can test The lowest fps I am getting is 43 in this exact spot, looking exactly west, 2 tiles to the east of the token. Moving my view in any other direction will yield in a higher fps. Average for this area is 60, going to 70s-80s or even 90s in the cave that you can see in the screenshot. Overall still a very bad fps for basically nothing around
  11. well, this spreadsheet thing is only working part of the time super simple meals - all ok more complicated meals - first it lacks ingredients and second, even if you use the list of ingreds it wont give you the correct affinity my example - beef, whole+lettuce, whole in frying pan in normal oven = paving if i want staff, I found oven+pottery bowl+rye bread, whole+roasted cucumber+chopped carrot+whole oat - that should have given me staff. It instead gave me traps.... Also checked, and my char isnt bugged Any suggestions?
  12. apparently this thread was not heard enough - here, in your face once again
  13. I spent 3 hours trying to get wurm to work under 'as easy as it gets' ubuntu I googled without even knowing what to search I inputted some commands I have no clue what were doing The thing was erroring out every 5 minutes I finally got wurm to work and got an amazing 1 fps Then I installed the GTX 1070 drivers and wurm would crash - something with GPX 13 no config or something And then basically lost all because it didnt want to start again unless I shut down and restarted and lost the java and the wurm download I downloaded the wurm packs 6 times. Heck I couldnt even get my screens to be in the correct order without the system crashing..and reverting back to the crap settings Sorry, but NOTHING is intuitive about it if you know NOTHING about it Please stay on the windows topic
  14. what made me stick in Wurm for longer than any other game in my life was its difficulty. If this game wouldn't have been hard, I would have not stuck around. And honestly, unfortunately now it is not as hard as I would like I started in a time when we had a shovel, a pickaxe, a short sword, a backpack, a compass and a steel and flint. If you died, you would have lost the compass and the backpack. That is it. No newbie buffs, no less aggression from mobs, no armor. Sure it was hard, but it was arguably the hook that made me stick around. That sense of accomplishment from doing even the simplest tasks. I remember building my first small cart, took a few hours to do...I went to sleep that night with a smile on my face. The countless unfinished items, the moving of dirt with rafts, standing on horses and the green outfits everyone was wearing..... We have moved (sadly) away from those times. I would however push newcomers to join villages, create communities and long standing friendships that will then be there during their wurm life, rather than the 'i can do it on my own' persona. Back then it was basically impossible to survive alone, now - entirely possible. The (MAJOR) difference is that back then, the local communities and villages were acting as the CAs today..but if you are in the middle of nowhere by yourself and have no clue....sure you will need CAs to explain even the basic things. I feel, although appealing to 'live alone in the middle of the mountains' is not sustainable, and most of those people will sooner or later leave wurm. But someone that has dozens of friends around, friends forged through PVP (on pvp servers) or by living in the same community (mind you alliance chat, is not the same as being in the house next door) or trading with others will more than likely remain for much longer in Wurm. Plus, the easier the game gets, the more characters that want instant gratification will join. I will argue that this is very damaging for the 'core' of wurm players, those that cherish the fundamental values of wurm. TL;DR: I would fully support an increase in the game's difficulty while at the same time the game/tutorial/staff actively recommending forming of larger communities/villages in order to mitigate the difficulty of doing things
  15. I'd love to try but i cannot, as I have no clue on how to operate, much less install linux.....
  16. Unfortunately Samool, that is like saying that having a lot of tabs open in chrome will eventually slow the system down. Sure it will, but everyone knows that - it does not take a developer to reach that conclusion. Of course, my focus is to make my game run fast, as it should be according to my hardware. But that is a very general issue to ask a developer. I would be interested to know what makes for example Reylaarks system, that is in almost all ways slower than mine (with the exception of RAM), run at 115 fps at almost double the resolution with the exact same settings. His game is just as optimized, or as unoptimized as mine is, so considering the hardware is slower, almost twice the resolution, and using the same software - where is the problem? That is a question for a developer I already shared my willingness to let a dev have a look in my system. This is a clean system, I just reinstalled windows - and I would be happy to test usb linux, but I have no clue how to run linux.....
  17. I did all that and I also hope that is something simple. is laughable how terrible the performance is...
