  1. Please add Hickory as a new wood type.

    Why?

    Quote from the Wiki:  (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hickory)

"Hickory wood is very hard, stiff, dense and shock resistant...The combination of strength, toughness, hardness and stiffness found in hickory wood is not found in any other commercial wood.  It is used for tool handles, bows, wheel spokes, carts, drumsticks, lacrosse stick handles, golf club shaft... etc."

Also many of the tools I personally have in real life have Hickory handles.  Many of the tools I see for sale at the store seem to make it a big deal to point out that they are made of or from Hickory.

  2. Hello,

I would like the ability to tell if my friends are looking toward the ground, straight ahead, or toward the sky.

Please add the ability for the player's character model to tilt in the direction they are looking.

    Thank you,

(If this already exists please tell me how to turn this feature on.)

  3. When you were attacking the horse, did you have anyone mounted on it for double damage? Or is that non mounted non double damage wounds?

    Hi Watkins,

Non mounted.  It was just me vs. the horse.

Good question.  I didn't test if the damage is different when the horse is mounted.

Regarding the double wounds, I counted the damage per hit.  Some damage did land on the same wound more then once.

So for example strike #1 does 19 damage.  The wound shows 19 damage.

Followed by strike #2 that does 19 damage.  The wound now shows 38 damage.

Yes, some of the strikes did repeat into the same wound.  But it was just one strike per swing/tick/attack.

  4. Keenan,

Thank you for adding attack range information to the wiki.

    Note regarding the following sentence:

    • Quality of spear greatly affects overall damage.

Would you please update this sentence?  I would like it to be clear we are talking about the spear weapon itself, and not the character spear skill.

  5. Please update Long spear to indicate that the QL effects damage output.

Higher QL = Higher Damage output

Lower QL = Lower Damage output

As noted in the following screen shot.

The Long spear of QL 5.32 did approx 2.16 damage per hit against an iron barded horse.

    vs.

The Long spear of QL 63.68 did approx 20.09 damage per hit against an Iron barded horse.

I used the same wood type for both spears, just so the only difference is the QL of the spear.

Also the Long spear has a longer attack range then most weapons, including that of a short sword or a long sword.

The range of a Long spear is approx 1 tile

  6. After the testing I'm left with a few questions.

Will the Dev team make the armor visible in the future?

Will they all look identical to iron barding, or different?

How do the different metals compare in terms of wear and tear?

Since I only tested the piercing damage type:

Do the different metals react the same across all damage types?  or are they different vs. Slash, Blunt, Acid, Cold, Heat, and Piercing?

Since the tests I did where based on similar QL of armor:

Does having a higher QL chain barding effect incoming damage?  or is QL 1 the same as QL 99, in terms of incoming damage?

I'm not expecting any answers, just wanted to share my thoughts after testing.

  7. The damage is soo close together on average... I would dare say the level of protection each metal gives is the same.

However What I dont' know is if the QL of barding matters.

    But it's confirmed.

Iron, Steel, and Silver Barding does work and is active armor for the horse.

Even if you can't see it, it still protects the horse.

Almost forgot to mention, The different metals do take different amounts of wear.

Steel appears more durable then silver, and silver more so than iron.  (which doesn't seem right)

But I wasn't paying attention to wear very much in depth and more testing is required.

  8. Here is what I found.

    Horse Barding comparasion

    Horsebarding%20Comparison%204.png

The "No Barding" I stopped because it was clear, I was going to kill the horse.

After 7 shots (and lots of healing/bandages)

The horse with Iron Barding took a total of 139.91 damage for an average of 27.98 damage per shot.

The horse with Silver Barding took a total of 140.67 damage for an average of 28.13 damage per shot.

The horse with Steel Barding took a total of 139.08 damage for an average of 27.82 damage per shot.

  9. Keenan,

Good point.  Thank you for updating the page.

The metal types may have different levels of protection.  On the idea of a softer metal vs. a more resistant metal.

I'm working on finding out the results.

    Oh another note.

You cannot equip a hot armor on a horse, as it must be cooled first.

Text received when you try to equip hot armor on a horse:  (Thanks to Strandedspaceman for catching this)

The Venerable fat Dogswift rears as the chain barding is too warm.

  10. Please update Horse chain barding to indicate that both

Silver Chain barding, and the Steel Chain barding, are currently visually bugged.

When a horse is equipped with chain barding, of either Silver or Steel.  The armor does not currently appear on the horse.

But the horse is slowed down while wearing either.

    Testing:

I tested 3 sets, Iron, Silver, and Steel.

All three sets slow down the horse while equipped on the horse, vs. having none equipped on the horse.

The Iron set shows visually on the horse as equipped.

The Silver set and the Steel set, appear to be equipped but visually invisible.

I assume the visually invisible sets still protect the horse, however I don't' want to assume and will test this out later on to confirm.  At that time, I will also include screen shots.

  11. As someone who recently applied for wiki access, to update some out-of-date pages I had run into, I was told that new wiki registrations were suspended due to the new wiki team thing.  Apparently, you now have to be part of the wiki team to contribute to the wiki - I guess there's some plan to pull all the existing wiki maintainers into the new team.  But the old 'send a PM to Mamadarkness' route doesn't seem to be valid anymore, the correct path is to apply to the wiki team (which is detailed in the other thread).

I was also told that new wiki registrations were suspended

Makes me sad because I was looking forward to adding missing content.
