  1. Hi, can we add the ability to right-click "sell" to a merchant while mounted?

Currently when I try to sell while mounted I get.

[15:54:46] You need to be on solid ground to do that.

[15:54:51] You leave the old fat Dancehop.

[15:54:56] You receive 11 irons. Your bank account will be updated shortly.

Is there currently a reason why we cannot sell while mounted?

  2. I have seen this suggested a few times before and as always I will give this a +1.

Would make hunting and transporting goods a lot easier.

    +1

I've ridden horses before with my uncle.  He had leather satchels/saddle bags on the horse to store items.  It blended in just behind the saddle.  It wasn't a lot of space, but he had our lunch and drink in there.

I'd say just give the horse a slot that you can equip the satchel to, make it visually noticeable, and done.

  3. Hence why the edits were made after Nicrolis posted his test results. I didn't change anything about parry rate, which is still untested.   :)

    Keenan,

Sorry that was directed toward Aru, and I should have worded it differently.

Something along the lines of "Aru, please do not suggest wiki edits that are assumptions."

  4. I assume the wording about the scythe to mean other players cannot parry if you are using a scythe, however if you are using a scythe, you can still parry incoming attacks. (Assuming the other player isn't also using a scythe)

    Haven't tested this myself however.

Please do not write assumptions into the wiki.  Only actually tested actions.

  5. Please add the ability to smoke meat in the game.

    Why?

    Because smoked meat tastes great!

Here is how I can picture it working in Wurm.

The end result would be to use it as part of the food you can eat in Wurm.

You take Meat, wood, and a smoker oven of some sort.

Why would someone do this in wurm?  For the purpose of improving the quality of the meat.

You put in the your 50 QL meat and your 70 QL wood.  It would destroy the wood, but average out the quality between both items.

Your wood is destroyed but the meat becomes 60QL, and now has the label of smoked.

    Wood smoked items:

In this video at 3:10 the guy talks about the different woods.  He even mentions apple wood.

  6. Only real issue with adding hickory is that it was not native to Europe at all...

    Plebian,

Can you show me where does it say that everything in Wurm has to be from Europe?

As noted by Flinty, Proximo, Kunalt and Griper, above there are many items that aren't from Europe in Wurm.

  7. Oak is a decent cooking fuel, especially poultry and fish.

Hardwoods in general are usually good. Now something really pitchy like pine... Ugh. Too much residue.

Still nothing like a nice piece of hickory:

I watched that whole video looking for where hickory fits in.

About 3 minutes and 20 seconds into the video the main character finishes beating the guys with a handle and says "There's nothing like a nice piece of hickory".

  8. ...the aesthetic value would have some appeal, but the devs are actually moving backward from Mr. B's hard work about five years ago to have different wood textures because...

the client had / has resource management issues...

This is a separate issue and requires a whole other thread to address it with DEV support.

But it's not directly related to weather or not Hickory is a useful wood type.
