  1. The ponies are live! Make your selections now!
  2. The NEXA Alliance is mighty proud of our co-founder and horse breeder, Olafhairybreeks. So pleased are we with her awesomeness we have designed a Festival game around her Top 5 in Niarja Animal Husbandry skill. The premise is simple, 15 players*** each pick a male and a female from the list of breed-able horses below, and Olaf breeds them. When the foals arrive, the baby with the highest scores based on overall specializations wins a prize for their contestant. All of the breed-able horses are no name, zero spec horses. Scores will be tallied using Granger from the Wurm Assistant Tool. There will be prizes for the Top 3 scoring foals. Ties will be decided by random selection. All contestants win the right to take their foals at the end of the contest. We are not displaying the colors or ages of the breed-able horses, though we have almost all colors and ages from mature to venerable. The ponies are penned north of the NEXA Sanctuary and Market in a deed called Amish Farms. Please feel free to travel and look at the horses in the pen before you choose your breeding pair, but that’s not a necessity. *** Sadly only 15 players can participate due to the fact that setting something like this up is much harder than it looks. Most Importantly: All contestants MUST choose their breeding pair in a reply to this post. There can be no choices via PM or in game message for the sake of transparency. Choices are due by November 1st, and the breeding begins the next day. The winners will be announced at the Summerholt Fall Festival on November 11th. 4. The North East Xanadu Alliance (NEXA) is hosting its first community-wide event on November 10 - 12, 2017, the Summerholt Fall Festival. NEXA is based out of Summerholt on Xanadu, and many events are planned in the area and at the nearby Amish Estates, the NEXA Market and Sanctuary, and Amish Farms. Map of Area: While we will have many people offering imps and other specialty items, the main purpose of the event is to host a number of fun carnival-style events. These games are free and open to all members of the Wurm Online community. The specifics (dates, times, locations) of the games are still in planning and will be released soon. As a preview, we will include: Sailboat circuit races, A horse race (the “Summerholt 5000”), Fishing contests, A horse breeding contest, A pie-making contest, Musical chairs, And everyone’s favorite “Needle in the Haystack”. Bring out your priests! We will also be hosting 24/7 sermons at the NEXA Market and Sanctuary. FAQs: Why another impalong? You can never have enough events in a game like Wurm Online. We realize there have been a lot of impalongs lately, but our close knit family of over 100 deeds prefers to stay close to home while we tend to our sheep, sow our fields, build our castles, and grind our skills. We feel that the next best thing to going to an impalong event is hosting an event ourselves. Wait, is this an impalong? Yes, we will have highly skilled players around doing item improvements for tips. Most materials will be provided, but there may be some instances where some rarer materials will need to be sourced. Is this just a marketing event? No, unlike other impalongs, we could care less if you shop at our amazingly stocked and competitively priced markets. Can we…? How about a...? Will there be a....? Probably, post here or send a message to the Event Coordinator before 1 Nov. Festival Personnel: Event Coordinator: Jackjones, NEXA Host with the Most: Aniceset, NEXA Founder Animal Handler: Olafhairybreeks, NEXA Founder Sermon Manager, Mello/Dysstone, NEXA Guest Services, Talohan, NEXA

  6. Once again, Wurmoween will begin 31 Oct and end in the middle of Nov like it always has. This has always angered me.
  7. A big red one, in your face, e.g.: "Your carving knife feels less powerful"

The map updates after tremendous amount of work happens. Development time alone is dozens of hours. WO staff pulling maps and searching every square of bad words and swastikas take lots of thankless hours. Map data maintenance is another thankless chore. Knowing that there are new roads and Bridge's (sic) at S9 does absolutely nothing to help the situation.
  10. LOCK PLEASE

I'll have to work on it..
  11. Ouch.. yeah that's a bug.. hot keys are the switches are getting out of sync.. I will add that one to the list, thanks!

I got a new map up for Xanadu based on the latest dumps. There are a decent amount of changes that I wanted to highlight. We have a new look and feel. While still an Open Layers framework map, the client-side code was entirely re-written in Angular and Material Design. This is going to make maintaining the code so much more user friendly. (ASIDE: I will never write another line of JavaScript code.. EVER!) A giant change we made was to switch the vector layer from a heavily customized and kludgey SVG layer, to native Open Layer vector layers which are rendered as HTML canvas elements. Our performance just jumped exponentially, and now we have true coordinate fidelity. We can now introduce as many new vector layers as we see fit. New is this release is... Bridges! Soon enough we are going to implement Landmark layer which will include Guard Towers, Bodies of Water, maybe some Epic stuff. Also, the source code is now available online at https://github.com/WefNET/wurmonlinemaps-ng. We now have a header and some new markers: The yellow hamburger menu in the header opens an options panel on the left: Clicking the map icon in the upper right hand corner brings up a color customizer (thanks, Legios for the ideas): Also, the map now has hot keys: C - Cycles the map raster layers (all 6 including last November's layers) D - Toggles deeds S - Toggles starter deeds G - Toggles the grid B - Toggles bridges T - Toggles Canals / Tunnels There's probably more I can't remember.. But, it's ready!!: http://wurmonlinemaps.com/Maps/Xanadu
