  1. Yes, you can. Just install the client on both machines, and log in using the same username.
  2. Yep, just put your same username into multiple clients on multiple computers, and you'll earn at the combined speed fo both. We'll look into more load adjustment options. Thanks!
  3. You could adjust the settings. Using the "Polite" setting will only use your computer when you aren't using it. You need to update your graphics drivers. Go to http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx if you have an ATI card and http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us if you have a Nvidia card.
  4. Nice! Looks like you're just about 4 hours away from first place. Good luck!
  5. There are a few reasons you are seeing that number, but I can assure you that that number is way off. The mining client has a settings page where you can control how fast it runs. Set it to Turbo for best results. The big number at the top of the stats page is based on a 30 minute trailing average, so you should run it for 30 minutes on Turbo for that number to be accurate. The graph is based on the number of shares produced in a generation (how long it takes to find a block), which averages 10 minutes, but can be anywhere from 10 seconds to 1 hour. Run it for an hour, and then check out your graph to get an accurate number.
  6. We are trying our hardest! Our most eager prospect is a University that needs GPUs to analyze DNA. We have approximately 800 - 1000 high end ATI cards mining on our pool right now, and we want them to continue working just as much as you do. Those ASIC companies have all promised amazing things and so far every single one of them has failed to deliver. The most likely candidate has been 1 month away from shipping since 4 months ago.
  7. Also, we added the ability to modify how aggressive our client is in the settings and idle detection. The default setting is Fast which works at 70% speed when you are using your computer, and 100% when you are away (no mouse or keyboard input for 5 minutes).
  8. The Bitcoin block reward was cut in half a few weeks ago. You can find an in-depth article here: http://bitcoinmagazine.com/block-reward-halving-a-guide/. The quick explanation is that the number of Bitcoins released per block has been cut in half, effectively halving the value of everyone's computing power. However, the decrease in supply has increased demand and prices have gone up, by 10-20% so that is why you are not getting strictly half of what you made before. We update the Bitcoin exchange rate daily with the price fluctuations, so that's why you might make more one day or another. The block halving happens once every 4 years, and is an agreed upon method for preventing the dilution of the currency. This affects all Wurm users, so good luck in reclaiming your top spot on the Leaderboard!
  9. New client version released! A few minor bugs were fixed, and a feature added. If you hover over your total earnings indicator, a tooltip will show you exact iron count. Yup! Just run the client with the same username on all of the computers. The bottom right indicator will show how much iron that username has earned total, but the other indicators will only display information for that one computer. We're sorry to hear that some of you aren't getting as good of rates with the new client as before. Much of this could have to do with the block reward halving we mentioned earlier. If you want to do a true comparison you should run the old client, record its rate, then run the new one (let it 'warm up' for a few minutes), then compare the rates. The Bitcoin price is not stable, and we have to update the iron / bitcoin price daily. We did a comparison between the new client and the old on our test machine here are the results: We saw a 24% increase in productivity with the new client over the old. The new client takes a few minutes to get up to its best rate, whereas the old client got to its best rate almost immediately. We are working to fix that issue. The whole point of the new client is that it can do any kind of computation, not just Bitcoin Mining. But, since we aren't pushing out any other work right now, it is fine to run the old client if it makes you more iron. If you haven't tried out the new client, do so! It looks much better and could give you a better rate!
  10. Last post is a new version of the Beta 2.0 client. The Beta client auto-updates, though, so if you're running it currently, it will update itself within an hour.
  11. Download the new version client: />http://media.coinlab.com.s3.amazonaws.com/clients/wurm-latest.exe We've added a hover state to the Total Earnings dial, so when you hover, it shows the exact quantity of iron earned.
  12. Leaderboard is now Online! />http://pool.coinlab.com/partners/wurm/leaderboard
  13. Thanks for the feedback, I'll pass it along. A temporary fix: you can check your stats online at http://pool.coinlab....rs/wurm/sign-in . One cool thing about this is that you can leave the client running at home and check your balance and mining speed from a friend's house.
  14. You receive your earnings through the Bank of Wurm, which can be accessed through a Settlement Token. AVG appears to have a false positive on our new client. We've contacted them and are waiting for them to remedy this.
  15. We're still working on selling scientific calculations. Our new client will allow us to automatically switch you from mining Bitcoins to doing (higher value) scientific calculations whenever our customers make work available the network.
  16. Unfortunately, the laptop versions of NVIDIA cards tend to very poor rates, because they build these cards for low power consumption over compute power. I think that's about as much as you'll be able to get with that card. Sorry to disappoint.
  17. Hey Wurm Miners, So, as many of you noticed, the Bitcoin Block Reward halved last week (here's a good article if you want to learn more). This has caused almost a 50% cut in earnings. Because the Bitcoin network is self-correcting, we speculate this rate will rise over the coming weeks to come closer to 75% of what you were earning previously, but only time will tell. It appears the new client isn't getting quite as much as our old client, which we're looking into.
  18. Hey Wurm Iron Miners! We have a build of our new, much more attractive, client ready for testing. Other new features include the ability to see your recent uptime, tweet or facebook share your stats, and more idle detection options. You can grab a test build here: http://media.coinlab...rm-02.00.03.exe We'll be in test mode for at least a week, and if it's stable enough, we'll update everyone's client to this version. Let us know if you find any bugs or you have any feedback. Great feedback may be rewarded with bonus iron Here's a screenshot, so you can see it for yourself (note, this was taken on from an old laptop with a very poor graphics card, earning rate should be the same as the old client):
  19. Hey Wurm Iron Miners, Wanted to give you all an update. Sorry for the delay, we're working hard on some exciting things! We have a new client version coming out in the next two weeks. This update will be a major improvement aesthetically, as well as adding the functionality to let us use your graphics cards for other HPC (High Performance Computing) work units and some general performance improvements. Our first HPC customer will be performing gene sequencing tasks with your GPU's computational power, and we expect these jobs will go live in December. Because of this, NVIDIA cards will soon be able to earn as much or more than AMD cards. If users experiencing problems with crediting could email their log files to wurmsupport [at] coinlab.com, that would help me debug this issue. Be sure to include your wurm username in the email. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue in-house, and it appears we are crediting many users without any problems. Thanks, CoinLab
  20. We may eventually implement CPU work units on our service, but we haven't because: - These jobs tend to pay less, often below electricity costs - The security model is more complicated. It's easier to be sure that GPU work is quarantined from the rest of your system than CPU work. - Every company has CPUs in their machines, but many don't have GPUs powerful enough to do HPC work that would add value to their business.
  21. Yep. Even if we added CPU support, you'd only earn about 1 iron per 24 hours: it wouldn't be energy efficient.
  22. AMD cards are more efficient at the work units we have online right now. We're adding some High Performance Computing jobs to our cluster in the next few months which should be able to increase the earnings from NVIDIAs by ~ 2x. Icerus, your 680's will do quite well once we get those jobs online :-) (and yes, some of these jobs will likely be CUDA only).
  23. I suggest the AMD HD 7970. It is the best card for our service on the market now.
  24. Laptop graphics cards are less powerful and tend to get less ventilation, so they will earn you less. Looks like you have an older model card as well. The best way to earn more is to get a more powerful graphics card. For example, newest AMD cards can earn up to 2 silvers per day. If you are thinking about getting a new graphics card, send me a PM and I can give you some recommendations. Thanks!
