  1. Is this related to the reason why the planets are vibrating in the sky?
  2. Lormere Clean Up

    I agree, I'll help.
  3. Additional: Drinking a ale from a beer stein (I know I shouldn't be doing it because of above) causes the entire load of liquid to be removed without a drinking action being triggered.
  4. I haven't done much with hives yet, but here is some information derived from the real world that might help. Sugar in the hive is a feeder for when there is not much food about, bees will feed from the unprocessed pollen collected, so if you are providing sugar you will discourage them to forage. The amount of honey produced should be based on the season, the "honey flow" is normally in the spring. The bees will unlikely create honey from sugar, they will eat the sugar there isn't enough other compounds in the feed to make them see it as a reserve that can be used to feed pupa.
  5. Other liquids like gravy and stock are not affected or not affected as much, this bug is relating to product level liquids like alcohols. The above post was written whilst testing each method out as I was writing it using beer, gin and brandy and the bug was confirmed for each. This is relating to items that have meta, things like gravy appear to loose some of that information as its processed and in some cases don't have any at all if its an intermediate. For example, a pie doesn't know that you used a herb in the gravy after you used a herb in the main recipe. I could be wrong there, but from my experiments that seems to be how its working, whether that is intended behaviour or not I don't know.
  6. You can take some out, drink it get nothing, put it back and it work again as long as you put it back to a barrel that contains a drink unit that still has its meta it will combine just fine. So it can be combined, had several stills running and all the distillate is consolidated into one barrel and it still works. Taking a measure of a liquid is loosing its data and you just get a copy of an item of the required type directly from its prototype leaving the "source item" still in the barrel which can be edged down little by little until you have a 0.01 amount in the barrel which still contains the data. Moving this item into the barrel that contains the rest of its volume then restores the data to the larger volume again. So you can move it from barrel to barrel all in one go, or move it in smaller quantities as long as the final 'drop' is put in there with it. This bug occurs whether using 'fill' or DnD and is affecting all known types of containers.
  7. Hi, I'm very pleased to hear you are enjoying it so far. And yes you are correct a regular schedule is what is needed, I am planning when my show is going to be and when more DJs get on board they will also be scheduled. I just haven't put a schedule section on the page yet because .. well ... the cooking update is cool isn't it hehe ... but seriously you are right and that is something you will see on the page soon. Do you mean right there on the page? if you use VLC or something it should show up, but sure I can certainly put that on the page too. I'm also going to change the listener module to something a little better i had some feedback that some people had problems with it. The chatbox is a nice idea but as its based around Wurm Online we should probably keep all that there, and yes the moderation is just another thing to deal with. Also, I have been thinking about a link that opens a new window that will self resize small and contains only the player so streamline it a little, any thoughts on this? I'm working on doing some competitions and silly giveaway type thing to which I think will help attract listeners as you said, I don't think I'll give away money, but items etc would be cool. ~Morlanius
  8. Sounds good, you would need to be able to run to a minimum time of 1 hour though but it sounds like it should be a good show. I sent you a PM with details on how to get started, its a two step process but pretty simple, just get some software you are comfortable using, perhaps do a few practice runs without a streamer and then follow the directions in the PM and I'll activate your accounts. There will be a schedule on the main radio page but at the moment I'm waiting for some more people to jump on board as DJs. So if anyone else is out there that would like to do a show then please contact me via PM in the forums or in game any time! ~M
  9. Sorry, I messed up. Bearfoot Stonedown should be on the island at 3005, -6221
  10. Bearfoot Stonedown is on the island at 4936,-3736 Thanks
  11. Hi, I have been trying to work out the recipe for "gravy" but unable to find it. I think I have found one route via the lore system but it requires "stock". I can not work out how to create "stock" so I can not test this either. I have at this time spent 5 hours, i have asked if anyone else has found it and nothing, and 3 other in my group have also tries combinations. I have tried every combination I can at the moment to create "stock" and nothing so far. If the route to "gravy" isn't the one I am currently chasing then I suspect that there is no recipe for either "gravy" or "stock".
  12. In light of recent events I feel it is necessary to clarify a few things. The radio station is "pre-licienced" eg: LOML is in place and PPL is pending whilst the PRS are aware of WOCR and I have been assured that we have a brief leeway where the LOML will be sufficient until it has been shown that a PPL is "worth getting". The systems I am putting in place and does use an external forum however this is only for use by DJ's and accounts are manually activated by me (see note below) The actual casting server also requires a login, these will be created for you if you join and you can change the password from the control panel. This is a FREE service both for listeners and for DJs alike. NOTES Anyone signing up t be a DJ will need to sign up to the forum, I would HIGHLY advise that you create your account using a unique password that you have not used ANYWHERE else before. The reasons for this should be obvious but for clarity I will explain: The forum does not allow admins to inspect passwords which are stored encrypted and on a secured server. This being said I do not want WOCR to be implicated in any of this drama with 3rd party sites, this is NOT what WOCR is aiming to do. If you sign up as a DJ and at any point you indicate/mention that you are using a repeat password, I will suspend your account with the required action to change your password. I am concerned that since the 3rd party site drama happened people are put off joining this project and this post is an effort to put peoples minds at rest, if you follow the advice I outlined here you should feel completely at ease using this. WOCR is a community project that is being privately funded, set-up and maintained again I would like to state that this is in no way endorsed by WurmOnline or Code Club AB, this is something we are doing by and for the community.
  13. The above poster is right, the staff have no association with the radio station. And yes you are right licences are required as I stated earlier. There are two LOML and PPL. I have even been on the phone on a number of occasions with the PRS people and they are actually pretty nice and opening to helping out people doing kind of thing. I don't know what you are trying to argue/rebut I have never stated that I don't need one. What I have stated is that there are two licences required which I have some time on one and the other isn't as critical whilst its still in a set-up/testing the waters stage.
  14. Perhaps also a way to attach backpacks to mounts for storage, even if they aren't openable whilst attached.
  15. sell off the wemp stocks and reinvest in veggies, I don't see the need to introduce a weird mechanic so that priests don't feel out of pocket. Its not like it would take a terribly long time to get more sacrificial items after the switch over.
  16. Hi, As the large saddle is no longer used for anything I think it should be usable on bears. It should be a simple matter to add the right flags for them to be attached to bears. The quality effecting speed should also work the same as horses. Perhaps we can have some bear shoes too, or even a bear hat; one of the leather type with a tassel that we can change the colour of with dyes. And as creatures hitched to a cart/wagon now unhitch as they change ages could it be changed so that when a bear becomes untamed it wont unhitch? as the new mechanic would solve people having them hitched all the time and bypassing the challenge of keeping aggro creatures for labour. Thanks Morlanius of Bearfoot Vinyard (xan)
  17. BUMP I'm still looking for people to sign up as DJ's. I'll be doing a show in the middle of this week too.
  18. Entering test phase Everything is running now and I have conducted a few limited test shows. The schedule is not set up yet so if you are on look in your global channels someone might be on. There is an autoDJ that plays when no DJs are available which will have its library improved very soon. So for anyone interested the landing page for the radio station is .... (epic moment-of-inspiration drum-roll) http://www.lifemud.com/radio/
  19. Hi, I have reported this a could of times in game and was told I should post on here. I am unable to reproduce the bug but it has happened a number of times now. It is possible to take a QL50 wound whilst walking down a wooden staircase. Effected set-up: staircase tile with a wall on the north, east and west tile borders, the floor it leads to is an open space with 1 tile separation to a wall on the north face, and 2 tile separation on all other faces. There are objects "under" the staircase 1 BSB, 1 bed, 1 IRON_LAMP Description of event: Walking down the staircase as normal (at naked speed of 15kph), half way down the staircase I receive the "ouch" message and have a wound randomly generated between QL43 and QL53. The damage was on my chest twice and legs once. Wound type is always "bruise" and rated "severe". Efforts to reproduce: Theory 1: I fell down the hole I jumped down the hole many times to test damage values which I can compare against suspected bug event. As yet no damage over QL8 has been received doing this. Theory 2: I fell down the hole awkwardly which I an unable to reproduce deliberately. Assuming that fall damage is calculated based on how far you fall and your weight (perhaps other stats) I designed my house so that I can jump off from a 1 tile hight. This allowed me to test the values from repeatedly jumping off and comparing the damage values against the event. Jumping 8/10 times causes no injury at all when I do take damage its always to the feet and the values are between QL1 and QL15. This is not consistent with the event. Theory 3: 'WoW' they coded falling down the stairs (modified theory #2) I thought that perhaps going down the banister exactly and jamming myself in there would cause the issue, but so far I have been unable to damage myself doing this that is not consistent with the outcome of theory #1. Additional information On once occasion I found myself under the stairs when this event happened, so I started experimenting with lag events to cause myself to be half way down the stairs only to glitch into the stairs but this did not deliver any damage. This is relating to Wurm Online and I play on the Xanadu server. I'm not very good at making healing covers yet so I hope this helps to figure out what's happening here. Morlanius
  20. I have done this before and know about getting PPL and LOML (Which i already have). To clarify Wurm Online/Code Club AB have no legal or financial obligation for Wurm Community Radio and will not be expected to cover the licensing this is being handled privately. This is purely a community driven operation. You do not need a license for each song/artist you get a license to broadcast and one that covers the "right to play" which for a community radio is actually very reasonable as long as the system is managed in the right way, is maintained as a community broadcast, the proper records are kept and sent off each reporting period. I have been in verbal contact with them (I am based in the UK so this is with the UK authorities). I'm very glad that there has been so much interest in this and I hope that it will be something that the community as a whole will enjoy. I look forward to hearing lots of variety of music and even the "advertising" of in-game events and marketplaces which would be a great way to encourage people to roamto new lands to visit the places mentioned. There will be NO commercial advertising, sponsorship or paid content and any and all DJs are purely volunteering their time to benefit the community. These are some of the restrictions of the licenses. Because of this we will not be allowed to advertise outside of the Wurm Online community, anyone sharing links via social networking or third party advertising will not be recognized by Wurm Community Radio or its partners. There will be a disclaimer on the landing page, which is almost ready go to live, the radio service is already running I am now collecting details of anyone that wants to sign up as a DJ. If you are interested please email radio@lifemud.com with: Your in-game name Your timezone Where you live (in game) Your age Any experience you have in this area. ~Morlanius
  21. Hi Tauceti, I completely feel for you, I was the same when I first started and I even had a few attempts. I would say join a village that can help you with food and some basic skilling after that the game gets WAY more playable for a beginner. The fact you have tried so many times mean this probably IS the game for you. However there is a difference between this and most (if not all) other games, that its hyper-realistic in you ability to get hurt and situational awareness. Here is some ways to get started I would recommend, this is MY personal opinion mind you: Join a village: Join a village that has at least 1 person in it that has been playing a while. Stay close, build your basics and a house and all the great villager stuff. This will teach you the mechanics of the game and give you a safe place to gain skill where you can venture out in your own time to deal with monsters, which believe it or not become less of a problem pretty quickly. Go it alone: If you really want the voyage of self-discovery then I would say find somewhere fairly close to a guard tower and build some fences around a 4x4 tile area with a gate. monsters wont be able to get in there and you get a measure of security. you can then upgrade this by building a house in there which will decay slower and offer more protection. A cave can work well too with only one way in monsters are less likely to find you and you can put a door on it. If you are on xanadu feel free to give me a shout,I live in the south west region near Lormere. I can show you some villages that are taking on new people or some nice areas you can start without too much grief from predators. Good luck
  22. Sorry I was going to mention something about this too, it odes seem like their requirements are quite high. The thing about the dual output cards is for mixing the software also acts as a mixing desk and can even control turntables and stuff but I've never used it. There are others out there I found this that might be quite useful to people using windows. https://www.playitsoftware.com/Products/Live and http://www.radiodj.ro/
