  5. I hate to say this as I never wish to inflict any mental harm upon someone especially over a game. If you are waiting for some sort of peer validation to justify your actions in aggressively defending an ideology, you're going to be waiting forever. I don't think anyone wants to be associated with this childish display of stomping your foot until your way has been accepted. You honestly need to face the facts that you are not getting to anyone, because you are in the wrong here. One person being scammed and then it being quickly resolved should not be the cause of this drama, it's 100% unwarranted. Honestly, you need to calm down. I harbor no ill will towards you, but I do think that you need to control yourself far better. This community is mostly made of adults, and lamenting will not garner any support. In your best interest, I say you apologize to everyone for your behavior. Hopefully you can see your foolish mistake, and over come it by just playing something everyone here has in common and enjoys.

  8. Minecraft is pretty close to what Wurm is. It's just a lot more casual and the grind isn't there. However, there is a mod for Minecraft called McMMO which integrates skill levels for tasks. Some of those servers that run it are the most popular out there. Minecraft may be a lot easier of a game, but who are any of you to say that their player base wouldn't be interested in Wurm? I was a Minecraft player for nearly 4 years until I found Wurm. It ended up being what I wanted til the point of PvP.
  9. Pretty on spot, there are vast numbers of people out there that do not care about graphics or super in depth mechanics. It's purely about being in a Sandbox MMO that has the resources to build what ever you want, when ever you want. Making something your own is a thing people crave on. No matter how big or small. I'm assuming this is directed to advertisement on Steam. First off, there are 10s of Millions of people on Steam. Secondly, there doesn't need to be a huge influx of players. I think right now the goal is that Wurm can get a bigger base following. Then use that bigger base in order to higher more staff that can produce content faster and make the game grow.
  10. This is the internet. People are going to bicker and harass each other irregardless of every factor you can think of. Steam does not host servers. They merely provide a middleman service of which people can find and play a game of what ever genre they look for. The very definition of a sandbox genre allows as many users as the sandbox(Server) will hold. Creating more servers to allow new players access is a great way of generating more and more content for Sandbox users to interact with. Sandbox games are most definitely made for a certain genre of gamer base. That doesn't mean people can change or find a game that they haven't known about to suit their needs. Why does every player that comes to Wurm need to stay for a year? They should be allowed to play off and on, there is nothing wrong with being a casual gamer.
  11. Quite honestly the most on point post. Wurm won't be known for it's flashy graphics or it's in depth mechanics. Most of us play it because it's freedom, freedom to make choices and decisions. Everything is player built, maintained and occupied. This is what will appeal to people when they get in wurm. What needs to be done is optimizing java clients to possibly use some sort of culling that can allow users to mass in areas. This would be a first step in allowing wurm to really have a platform for being allowed to grow. The next step is simple, just add the game to Steam as Proph has said. Advertisement is expensive and any where you can find it cheaply is the place to go. The Valve platform called Steam which is essentially an online store that allows people to promote their games cheaply. LiF:YO is nothing compared to what Wurm can offer in depths of community and what I feel is an easier grind. This game would blossom without a doubt if it was added to Steam.

    Everything isn't always black and white as we like to so believe. What if perhaps the cart in question had high damage and he was led to believe it be abandoned. Doesn't this essentially make it fair game? Wouldn't it be the right thing for the previous owner to let go of selfishness. Then be happy someone found usage for a cart they neglected? He could have just said he bought it, but he gave a short answer and we have no in depth explanation. If he was truly, guilty he would have made up a lie and covered up the truth. Instead it looks like he was going to explain himself but all we have is a couple sentences. Though in the end you're entitled to your opinions, as well as what you want to do with/on your property.

  21. There is no subscription, because it's a single player game unless you buy/rent/use a private server. Or you can host your own server, but you have to leave your computer on and generally it can't handle many people. Also yeah.. flattening in LiF is horrible. I used to play LiF and gave up after spending 3 days just to make one building, which I couldn't even do anything with. It's no wurm by far, but it does have a better combat system.
