  1. Sounds like you put a lot of thought in the first two. And like... none at all... into the rest. -1
  2. I just remember Rage. Rage from PvP towards PvE. About how they were using Wurm to build gardens. And wasting so much time and energy on 'silly' or 'stupid' things. Rage from PvE towards PvP. About how vindictively they were destroying people's homes and gardens. How maliciously they were rampaging and killing. Rage from PvE towards Rolf. About how he just... unleashed... this horde of 'horribleness' onto them without warning. And offered them no support or help. The whole community was in flames... It was absolutely awful. It might be the original source of the hatred between PvP and PvE. And probably the turning point in the evolution of Wurm and its community.
  3. Reducing PVP FUD

I have to agree with this 100%. It is entirely the reason I don't PvP right now. Because I know I literally can't compete with all the moon metal sets out there. I would just be handing them a kill and my gear.
  4. The following is a comparison of House Floors made from different materials by comparing the total actions required to make. Which includes actions to harvest raw materials, this is assuming a campfire is used to create ash and not a charcoal pile. They are listed in order of minimum Paving skill requirements. Not including the action to create the floor plan. Paving 21 - Stone Slab Floor : 37 Actions Paving 21 - Stone Brick Floor : 45 Actions Paving 25 - Pottery Brick Floor : 112 Actions (Cooking the Bricks counted as one action) Paving 30 - Slate Slab Floor : 167 Actions (Assuming Ash is combined for one action to make Lye) Paving 40 - Marble Slab Floor : 37 Actions Take what you will from this, but it seems to me if you oppose this change on the grounds it 'should be hard to make something nice' than you should support making Marble Slab Floors much more difficult. But yeah, +1 from me. Feels like someone either gave up on Marble floors or the person that designed Slate Slab Flooring wasn't included in a memo. I mean its called Slate Slab Flooring... not Slate Shingle Flooring...
  5. Reducing PVP FUD

    What?... ... ...What?
  6. Reducing PVP FUD

Don't worry Gary, it was quite literally you and possibly several you play with that made me add the 'not everyone' part. I too wish for a reborn Epic...
  7. Reducing PVP FUD

Not a soul would be playing on Epic right now if there was a way to move our characters and items to Freedom. Okay well not everyone. But a lot.
  8. Reducing PVP FUD

Well the easiest way to attract more players is with a PvP mechanics overhaul. I've seen numerous posts from old players that have said they would return if that happened.
  9. Reducing PVP FUD

What about connecting Chaos to the north side of Elevation? I mean its a good enough idea its just... gawd we've put so much blood, sweat, and tears into Elevation. We basically killed a kingdom (HotS) to get the new Elevation map. Destroying it again... I'm extremely bias because I live there and happen to think its a wonderful map for PvP. And Chaos is so old... theres not a single tile on that map that hasn't been crossed like a dozen times. And it wasn't specifically designed for PvP, although its functioned well enough. I mean MR wasn't even a Kingdom when Chaos was created. Maybe I could find a spot on top of Gedd's Mountain or something...
  10. Reducing PVP FUD

Well, I'll stir the discussion. Its becoming fairly obvious that Chaos and Epic can not, or lets say should not, coexist as two separate PvP environments for Wurm. One will always be accused of stealing from the other, and probably rightly. The most obvious decision would be to either delete one completely (Epic), or remove the PvP features from the other (Chaos). Or vice versa. Admitting to that is probably one of the hardest things I've done on this forum. I started on day one of Epic and would call it my Wurm home. The idea of losing all of my progress, all my history, everything that I've built up in Wurm for the past several years... is a painful thought. If Epic was shut down and I was forced to start over almost from scratch on Freedom, I might quit. I know at least half a dozen people that have quit Wurm because they already feel like Epic is going to be shut down. Wurm is all about long term progression. Putting months and years of effort and work into your character, your deed, your items... that is what makes Wurm great in my opinion. Its what brings me back to it over and over again. So losing Epic would be hard. Not just for me but for everyone that has played Wurm there. At the same time... shutting down Chaos, or removing PvP from it (again), would also be hard. The Chaos map is the oldest map in Wurm. It dates all the way back to the Wurmageddon. Its a piece of Wurm history that shouldn't just be tossed away. And its also the home of a lot of players. But more than that its been shown to me to be a gateway for Freedom players to experience PvP. They can go there with their established accounts and items and try out PvP, and many of them like it and would play there more. Having the ability to travel to a PvP environment and take part in Wurm PvP is a wonderful bridge between Freedom and PvP and something that should absolutely be encouraged. I'm so glad I don't have to make the choices facing the devs right now. It seems like no matter what happens they will be dooming players to oblivion and losing them from the Wurm community. I think right now, since we do have direct acknowledgement that they are discussing and brainstorming the future, we need to come forward and make sure we speak about this stuff. Because if we don't then decisions will be made without our input and potentially very hazardous to the health of this community (PvP). I know so many of the PvPers on the forums feel like they have been shouting at the top of their lungs for decades only to be ignored, but really I feel like this is the moment. Not since the dark ages of Wurm has the PvP community been this bad (small). It leaves the window open for extremely large changes because so few players will be drastically affected. There is a lot of potential right now. Imagine all the positive and constructive things you've been desiring in a Wurm PvP environment being implemented. Because from where I'm standing thats quite possible. If PvP is a long term goal for the development team. Then lets start giving some positive ideas and constructive discussion on it. If Epic has to die for PvP to live again in Wurm... so be it. But I would at least like the ability to leave the sinking ship, and I know I'm not alone in that regard.
  11. If I actually thought that removing the home servers would cause migration to Elevation I'd support it, but in all honesty it would just cause scores of long time players to either abandon the game altogether or just play on Freedom. The home servers serve a purpose. If you are going to delete the home servers you might as well just delete Epic altogether.
  12. Really? This is Wurm. But seriously woad is too hard to get guys, like seriously.
  13. Reducing PVP FUD

    Wow... This devolved fast...
  14. Reducing PVP FUD

Wow, the relief that I feel can not be properly expressed. Epic would not survive another map reset. I'm also glad to hear that Epic is still being thought about, because oh boy do we feel abandoned.
  15. This is my Hell Horse team They are entirely gold. Every single one of them.
  16. See this is what quality story telling does! Brings people together, starts discussion, makes you think about concepts and realities. Seriously this guy should write more stuff. How about a negative review of the cooking system? I bet that would spark a lot of discussion.
  17. Surprised this doesn't mention you can't breed 9 trait horses after 90 Animal Husbandry
  18. Elevation Desertion Serenity Affliction Stats for importing ores from Elevation to the home servers don't exist. But I know for a fact it is done. Why you required this information is beyond me. There is no reason to withhold high quality ore from the home servers. If Epic was updated to allow for Stamina to be gained from Digging and Mining, there is literally no reason we can't get this changed too.
  19. Because you have apologized for any offense given, I will also apologize because I might have over reacted to your comments. However, I will also inform you about the two specific things (which I quoted in my original post) that set me off. 1) The increased difficulty with improving skills is an extremely well documented and known issue on the Epic Cluster. Basically the game begins to judge your skill at much higher than it actually is, which affects the frequency and magnitude of your skill ticks. So going from 1 to 30 is super easy, 31 to 50 is probably a little easier than Freedom, from 51 to 70 might be the same, but from 71 above its torture. Getting absolutely ridiculous after 90. As a disclaimer, this is entirely my personal opinion. I have not played on Freedom in over six years. So I admit my estimate could be inaccurate. 2) When Epic was launched, there were a number of a changes in how certain stats/skills were gained. I am specifically referring to Body Stamina only be available through Woodcutting and Milling, and that you could no longer get Channeling skill from casting vessel on gems. Both of these restrictions have been removed. So now there is no difference between how skills are gained besides the curve. These are (or were) two fundamental aspects of playing on Epic which basically everyone that has played there more than a week knows about. When you so casually disregarded them with what I'm going to call both distrust and misinformation, it angered me greatly. Because it is all too common for Freedom players to discuss Epic related content like this. Which is to say, with inaccurate information, condescension, and having very little interest in representing the Epic players. In fact in several cases Epic players are looked upon with scorn or even disgust. And it angers me. But I apologize for taking out that anger on you when it appears it was undeserved.
  20. I thought this might be fun. It has never really made sense, and its never really served the purpose it was intended to (promote migration to Elevation).
  21. Actually the number one complaint against Wurm by players that found the game through Steam is the User Interface. Which they describe as outdated and difficult to learn. The number two complaint is about connection issues with servers in Wurm Unlimited. But this is all right there on the steam store page if you bother to read the reviews (specifically the negative ones). Otherwise this was a hilarious read! I love dramatic fiction masquerading as real life. You should totally write more. I suggest something about all Meditation Path abilities are ruining the game, I would read the crap out of that.
  22. Sounds like you don't actually know anything about Epic or the players that choose to play Wurm there. It sounds to me like you are just a $#!tty and spiteful person that is trying to dump on a whole group of players because it somehow makes you feel better. -1 Because we already have enough negativity in Epic we don't need to import it from Freedom
