+1 This would prevent enemy kingdoms from destroying your horse gear while in combat out of spite, among other issue. Plus it would be nice.

Fine, you want me to call it? I'm calling it. This thread is specially about a one-time Epic to Freedom skill transfer. Any further discussion about an item transfer and I will call in forum moderation as it being off topic and derailing to the purpose of this suggestion. There, now get all this pointless argument over items off this thread. You want to work for an item transfer? You make your own thread. Over here we are working for a skill transfer, hopefully 1:1.

Freedom has vast stockpiles of Moon metal, Drake, and Scale compared to Epic. First off, the only moon metal you can butcher from Valrei creatures is Seryll (or at least thats the only one I've ever heard of someone getting on Epic). And the drop rate is so awful that I doubt anyone has been able to get any useful amounts from it. And because of reasons I'll go in to, this is basically the only way to get Seryll on Epic. Second, the dragon/drake drop weights for scale/drake are different on Epic. I've spoken with three independent sources on this and they all told me the same thing. Even considering the larger pool of people present during slayings, you get significantly less scale/drake on Epic than on Freedom. We are under the assumption that these drop rates were to provide Imping resources and not Creation resources. And only recently has that changed so that you can imp dragon armors without their resources. Third, dragon/drake slayings and Rift parties are done regularly on Freedom across seven servers NOT including Chaos. This means that three times a month each server is handing out dozens of kgs of the metals to attendants (this is a total figure). And dragons/drakes are slain almost immediately after they appear for higher weights of materials. On Epic Rifts can go MONTHS before they are completed. Rifts are extremely dangerous on Epic because its publicly available information when you are doing one and you could be ambushed by enemy kingdom players during the process and wiped. So the amount of Rift rewards available on Epic is... nothing, in comparison to Freedom. The same, to a much lesser degree, is true of unique slayings. In the past several years Epic has also had severe population issues where you can't even get enough people to DO Rifts or Dragon slayings. Under strength groups have tired, and failed. Fourth, The Hunt of the Ancients. This event occurs every 36 hours (approximately). And when completed rewards approximately 2kg Ada and Glimmer inside of the HotA statue. And this is for the WHOLE kingdom, for one win. When you do the math compared to seven rifts that reward directly to individual users, there is literally no comparison. Freedom gets metric tons more than Epic. My point is that Epic literally does not have the resources capable of 'flooding' the market. If anything it would be a slight spike in availability of those resources, which would either drive the price down temporarily, or just create a feeding frenzy where you see huge amounts changing hands. I would also like to point out that Retro has already gone on record stating there will be no item transfers. And this suggestion is SPECIFICALLY about a ONE-TIME skill transfer. Perhaps another suggestion should be created for an item transfer.

I feel like 1:1 is fair. For Epic to Freedom. You just laid down the law and said no items, then a 1:1 is fair to my eyes. And its also easy. You don't have to come up with some horribly complicated formula, or need to open yourself up to a debate with both Freedom/Epic players about how the skill curve works, or have to deal with backlash from either party, or a debate about whats real and whats imagined and whats code. Its just a straight one time 1 to 1 and then this game is no longer divided between a second class playerbase and Freedom. The healing could then finally begin and we could put this bigotry and hatred behind us. Epic players don't get a final "you are inferior to Freedom" slap on the face. Freedom players don't have to worry about the market being flooded with items from Epic. Its a compromise. And its a fair compromise that it feels like the majority of both sides can stomach and accept.

Why is a 1:1 Skill Transfer on the table for Freedom and not for Epic? We keep dancing around this so I'll just be direct. Freedom isn't receiving a skill bonus for the conversion so obviously its not about equivalency. Why is a 1 to 1 Skill Transfer not on the table for Epic? Because it sounds like that is what is needed, what is wanted by the players. Unless you can find me a player, who has actually ground the skills on both clusters, that is willing to back up this claim that Epic is easier. Something is missing here. You are looking at the code and saying one thing, but the ACTUAL PLAYERS who have DONE THE GRIND are saying another. Why is a 1:1 Skill Transfer not an option for Epic?

Then why is Freedom getting a 1 to 1 transfer. If Epic skill gain is so lopsided and disproportionate why aren't all Freedom skills getting an automatic x2 on Epic during the transfer. Its such blatant hypocrisy that I'm shocked I have to say this. if Freedom is getting a 1:1 transfer and NOT getting a bonus to their skills (because they are obviously the master race and deserve better treatment). Then why would Epic receive any sort of nerf AT ALL when transferring over? That is adding insult to injury. If Freedom is being so degraded as not being honored for their master race skill gain, then why would Epic receive a double blow and get a skill nerf? If you are seriously going to offer a 50% skill transfer then do not bother. Do Not Offer This. Because I will quit. You would turn my 95 Leatherworking into 48? Are you serious? I could get 48 Leatherworking in a month on Freedom. Its so insulting that I will quit. I'm not going to acknowledge whykillme because they having nothing but hatred and bile for this topic and do not deserve a voice in this discussion.

I like you Retro, I do. I think you are a great person, and you are doing a great job in your position on staff. I have worked with you in the past, and I know people that consider you a close and personal friend. You are good people. That being said, the casual way that you and staff have been handling this incredible injustice against Epic players is quite frankly horrifying. Why should the reasons for wanting fair treatment matter at all? Does that change that its fair treatment? You are completely changing the entire Epic cluster from the ground up mechanically and giving the players that live there no choice in that. You are confining them and their efforts to that cluster while granting complete freedom of movement to another playerbase which has shown little to no interest in playing there. On the hopes that they will now take an interest. And people seem to think you are doing this because you think this will help Epic. Like you are giving us a gift. That we should be grateful for this wonderful and generous thing you are doing for us. I am appalled at all of that. Its incredibly insulting and terrifying. I feel powerless as others get to decide my fate. And in a game like Wurm where players are supposed to be empowered to choose how to play however they want, that's horrifying. Why should I continue playing a game that does this?

Because I don't want to play on Epic anymore. Is that really so hard to grasp? The ENTIRE POINT of this update, as I understand it, is to give Freedom Players the OPTION to play on PvP and be able to not have to regrind in order to do so. And you are LITERALLY telling us that Epic players do not have the right to do the same. Why can't I get to CHOOSE to switch to Freedom without a regrind because I do not want to play on PvP anymore? Oh my gawd how is this such an alien concept... You are letting Freedom choose to casually switch to PvP with no grind, but forbidding Epic from switching to Freedom to avoid PvP without a regrind.

Why am I repeatedly hearing Freedom players saying this? This update is ENTIRELY about Epic. It literally has a MASSIVE effect on both our game play and the future of OUR CLUSTER. Are we seriously supposed to just sit back and let other people decide FOR US how we are going to be playing OUR OWN ACCOUNTS. We should just shut up and let the Freedom people decide whats best for Epic? We should just shut up and not express our opinions on a major overhaul of the mechanics of our cluster? We should just shut up because our opinions don't matter when it comes to OUR GAME? What is wrong with you?

Der Takin' Our Jerbs! I'm so tired of this excuse. You know what? Don't make me start a thread about refusing Freedom skill transfers to Epic because they've 10 years to work on them while Epic has only been alive half of that. Or that Epic stamina is nerfed horribly compared to Freedom. Epic players have been treated like second class citizens in this game since day one. And now Freedom gets to come over and get the full benefit of their play while Epic players get nothing. Worse than nothing, they are trapped. Just wipe the Epic playerbase then. I mean we obviously don't matter, our accomplishments are inferior. We don't deserve respect or equal treatment. So just wipe the current Epic playerbase, entirely. And let Freedom transfer all their accounts over to make a 'real' Epic cluster. At this point thats only like... what... 50 accounts? Thats totally acceptable right. Especially compared to the 100s of Freedom accounts that will surely come over. Yup, that is solid math. We'll call this plan the 'Epic Final Solution'. You don't even have to round us up, because we are all trapped on the cluster.

If I am understanding you correctly... you have never played on Epic. Yet you are calling everyone that has played on Epic... AND played on Freedom... liars. Bold. Why should you be given all that to prove something so many others have already attested to?

There are literally dozens of players that have done major skill grinds on both clusters that have given statements about it being easier on Freedom. There is just something in the mechanics that makes it harder to get higher level skills on Epic than on Freedom. Personal testimonies aside, every time I've heard this brought up with a developer it has been denied. So there is little to no hope of things actually being equal.

Please. Let me escape the dead cluster I've been chained to for so many years. Don't make me start over on Freedom like this. Why can't Epic players receive equal rights? Why are our skills so unacceptable? Is my years of play so worthless and a Freedom player's so much more valuable? Please let me leave Epic with my skills.

This is nothing short of an absolute and total betrayal of all the players that have been on Epic and all the effort they put into their accounts. You should be ashamed of this update. I can not believe that yet again Epic playership is treated so badly and so forgotten. I will now have to seriously consider quitting Wurm entirely because there is no hope of ever seeing anything close to equal treatment of Epic players compared to Freedom.
