Sorry for late response haha. I've had RW since December. I'm not much of a builder so have been waiting for the game to be more complete. It's getting there as I'm sure you have seen. How do you like it?

I'm in Canada. I have a CIBC bank account with an advantage debit card which can be used as a credit card for certain things online etc.. Is it known that this works as a payment option for premium or buying silver for Wurm? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

Yeah I hear ya.. I like to kill time sometimes going through Steam greenlight. Some of the garbage that people are attempting to make money on. It's insane. Regarding Rising World. I've been on their forum since early December if I recall correctly. The devs are always helping new people and have been releasing updates pretty consistently. Just a little info on that. Check how often they respond to people on Steam. I swear Red doesn't sleep!!

I would say Oort is like Minecraft but more impressive. Rising World goes far beyond Minecraft. Just it's environment is nothing like Minecraft. In RW, there are plans for electricity (not stone powder) which requires an actual source (solar etc..), taken along wires which feed all sorts of things which require electricity to run. LIke the lights in your house etc.. or actual computers in your house. The community has thrown around ideas to use the computer to connect to actual internet, or for recieving video feed from CCTV cameras... or cameras players can control. So players could actually create their own tv shows within the game for people to watch who are able to pickup the signal. Or a video feed to monitor your livestock and crops to protect them for wild animals. We don't know if the devs will do this, nothing is promised yet of course, but the potential is there to have this kind of thing. Looks like there will be piping and pumps for water and possibly other fluids. We are hoping all of which will need maintenance to keep it functioning. Also there has been talk of a finite amount of water. So during a drought in summer (yes seasons) you would need to plan have enough water storage in order to supply water for yourself, your animals and crops, and just thinking of it now, possibly machines which require a water source. There will be vehicles and enough weapons to make pvp interesting (along with the options to turn weapons off, or monsters off etc..). Anyways.. just some stuff being tossed around. Some which devs have stated are planned, others which the community have talked about and hope for. Obviously I am excited for this game haha

Nope not an MMO. But it will have some RPG elements. There are a few people doing youtube series for it, can find them on the forum easy enough. There is one pretty decent new guy doing vids named Weem - https://www.youtube.com/user/weemcast/featured Yup I've seen some of Vortac's stuff, he is on the forum also if I recall correctly. You have to leave Wurm in order to play another game there Fineal? Yeah the mining and landscaping is great. Still needs work of course but it's one of my favourite parts of the game. You can carve out a mountain any way you want.... or sculpt an existing cave etc.. Anyways.. haha

Check out the screens people have posted on Steam. Devs are paying attention to the community while holding true to their vision. They are active on Steam and their own forums, daily. Currently just building can be done, although hunger and a form of thirst was just added. Soon some dangers are coming along with ores in the ground to mine. I honestly can't wait for this game to be completed. Nothing has shown that it's just a money grab like many alpha games these days...

What I am waiting for is the structural integrity, and not just for buildings, for the earth also. So you will have to support your mine ceilings and walls etc...

I started using that name a long time ago in quake, unreal tournament, team fortress, COD1/UO etc etc.. Until some years ago I finally found that it was taken. So I've used mostly ZaCormyr since. Once or twice I've used DaCormyr. Both just mean THE Cormyr lol... since I believe I was the first to use it online for a gaming nickname. I think it was Minecraft where I first found Cormyr being used already. Anyways.. there's that story lol

Thanks everyone, even if there is the feeling of being fresh meat being competed over lol. As a father, and a strong spirit myself, I won't be doing what others tell me unless I agree to such an arrangement. Just so that is clear. I might make a total ass of myself sometimes, but I'm also man enough to admit it lol Anyways, other than the slight awkward feeling mentioned above, you guys seem great and are helping me make up my mind on this game. It does have a bunch of elements I have wanted for a long time and have suggested to several alpha stage games. Laterz!

Ah ok. Thanks Tpikol. Any chance of knowing what servers you guys play on? Oh, one last question (I think.. lol), how long does the trial game last? I assume 30 days but anything could be possible here haha

Thanks for the responses! I expected maybe one reply haha. I will have to ponder this before jumping in. I see payment options are like the game itself... detailed! I'm not setup with a mic so it will be tough to play with others. And yeah I've learned this game is not so easy for a lone wolf. I have the same issue with wanting to play other games... sigh. I'm not looking for pvp in this game, pve is just fine. Glad to know you are able to enjoy the game while being a family man there Griphyth, thanks for sharing. We shall see. I just started a couple other games, but they're early alpha and it's a waiting game mostly. Anyways, thanks again!

First post here. Just discovered this game today and so far I am quite interested. Mind you the animations are tough to look passed lol. Anyways, I'm a 37 yr old family dude and don't get much time gaming these days (this might increase as the kid gets older haha). I'm wondering if there is any point playing this game if I get maybe an hour or two each night to play? I notice that builds start to deteriorate after a certain length of? What? Player not loggin on? Build isn't worked on? How long can players be away before stuff starts degrading? I just have this info from a couple videos... Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, the main site shop says "1 month premium (ingame) costs 10 silver coins (value 16 Euro)." I saw in one vid this guy saying it costs like $12 (can't remember exactly what he said) for two months? Could this be explained? (ingame)??? I'm here because I really love the detain the game has.. no graphically, but content. Immersion. Graphics are ok, animation seems to be a very weak point, but the content just rocks from what I have seen. Anyways, any help with these questions would be great. Thanks!
