  1. I don't know many games allow account sales. I figured a lot of people in Wurm Online would be upset. An assumption my part but who knows maybe I'm wrong.

If you can't then you can always sell items ingame to eliminate or at least reduce the overall cost. If you do 1 month premium time and 5 silver coins (ingame) every month, you can always apply the 60s at the end of each year to pay for a year's worth of deed upkeep in advance. Keep in mind, this does not assume multiple accounts, multiple deeds, or deeds that cost less or more than 5s upkeep. It's meant to show the basics; one account + 1 deed for a year in some common currencies.

I may update this a bit more because I'm probably forgetting a few things I've thought of before: Separate forum for people selling accounts as the WTS thread is gets littered with account sales Change dispel so that it dispels priest spells first and runes last (avoids inadvertently destroying runes on items just to dispel priest casts) Ability to plant kingdom flags on tile corners rather than having to manually place them on tile corners Taming mechanics need an overhaul due to several undesirable outcomes Hell horses and unicorns are not practical hunting mounts because they need to be tamed, draw aggro easily and die Same goes for other animals that can be tamed, they are good to stick in a pen to look at but not very useful otherwise Unicorns could be more useful for something but due to taming mechanics they are unsuitable even as a 2-person mount Build rounded structures or parts of structures (e.g., medieval castles often had rounded towers; the closest wurm logic gets to this is paved corners) and pointed roofs New wall type that combines jaw bridges and portcullises (the jaw bridge portion can be locked separately from the portcullis but both would appear on the same wall and use a single wall type) Build floors with murder holes just like medieval castles had used in rooms separated by two portcullises to trap and kill enemies Author books, guides and store them on bookshelves with the option to chain them to the bookshelves for security (just like the medieval chained library IRL; would require hardcover book binding made of oak and blacksmith to make the chain and lock to attach to the book) Farming implements that can be used with animals to increase crop yields (e.g., ploughs, cultivatiors, etc.) Frozen lakes in the winter with ability to use dogs, dog sleds, go ice fishing, etc. Allow QL of bridles affect how well horses and wagons can be turned, WoA increases turn rate and rare bridles turn even better Quenching container that can be used with water or oil (higher chance for successful action) to temper items for blacksmithing, WoA increases speed of tempering Mortar made out of lime (new stone type) baked in a kiln to create quicklime (byproduct) that can then be mixed with sand and water, possibly using a wooden device with a wheel and turning handle to create mortar. The wooden device could be casted with WoA to speed up the process. New rune to increase the age of foals so they can reach the age to be hitched a lot sooner (would only work/apply to foal stages)

  8. I very much disagree with account sales being prohibited. It would destroy the entire community. PERIOD.

See: I would like some clarification here: 1) The Steam "Account Name" is what is used to login to steam and it's associated with a "Contact Email" that should match the email address for the player account in Wurm Online. 2) Logging into Steam then allows me to download Wurm Online for free. 3) I should then be able to use the Wurm Launcher to create a new character (or the website but I think it's redundant and this process could be brought directly into the launcher). 4) Once my new character has been created under the email address for the player account that matches the "Contact Email" in Steam, I'm ready to launch the game and start playing. I see NO REASON why Steam has to be used for character registration/creation whatsoever. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Furthermore, the fact that characters can be bought/sold for EU by players to other players is highly desirable and we wouldn't want to lose the ability to do that due to some Steam contractual obligations/restrictions. After all, STO allows you to buy items in the game and still allows players to auction entire accounts. Why? Because they manage the accounts/players, not Steam. So what I'm saying is MrJonnyboyTwo should not be created via Steam at all. It should be handled by the Wurm database. The only thing Steam is there for is to market the game, allow people to download it, allow people to buy premium and silver through Steam and have that applied to their characters in the Wurm database linked through their Account Name/Contact Email (in Steam) and their email address/player account (in Wurm). P.S. In my opnion, this game was never built to be a PVP game of the caliber that everyone expects it to be and frankly, it would take too much work to get it to a point where everyone would be happy. However, I feel Wurm Online is best suited at PVE and it does this very well. If it were me, I'd scrap the PVP component altogether and invest more in making PVE even funner. But that's just me. Why? I don't care about PVP at all. In any case, since PVP does not affect me whatsoever, I could care less about anything to do with PVP in Wurm Online and I just think it's a waste of time. It breeds bans, hatred, pain points for the development team, etc. and it takes away from them working on PVE that I care about. Take it or leave it. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. I don't want to hear any replies to my opinion here either. I will not reply. I'm not getting into a forum discussion about PVP because I don't care.
  10. My plan this year: 1. First off. It's very simple. I'm not here to complain or cause drama. I'm here to imp and get skill. In the end, getting my skills up IS the reward. 2. That said, I showed up to the impalong last year BEFORE the event even started officially and I was already working on BS items. I was the highest BS there. I ended up getting my BS to 97 skill thanks to last year's lunalong and impalong. 3. This year, I'm shifting my focus to PAS as my skill is currently 94. I would like to get that skill up to where my BS is before I switch to Jewelry Smithing or Shield Smithing next. This means I do not plan on doing BS imps this year. 4. As my health continues to degrade and I'm fast approaching a 3rd liver transplant surgery, I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to attend this year's impalong if by bad luck I end up in the hospital ER again. Otherwise, I will be there! 5. Any tips are greatly appreciated for my imping services but definitely not required. If things work out and I'm able to attend on the last day, I will do like I did last year and focus on getting people's rares up to 91QL. 6. I'll be bringing my two priests, Mylulv (Vynora; 100 faith) and Worldtender (Fo; 86 faith). Mylulv will just stand around as an extra body for larger sermon ticks and Worldtender will be in attendance until he reaches 100 faith. 7. If I have time to use my priests to perform some casts, I shall do so but if I'm too busy smithing like I was last year, it's too much multitasking for my taste and I'll probably just help when we're running behind on casting. Finally, I just want to say that last year one of the issues I noticed was priests running behind when it came to casting items. The priests need to be more on top of that this year. The more priests we have, the merrier. Last but not least, let's all use a common sermon format so we can stay consistent. I spent a lot of time tracking the sermon queue and posting updates last year but frankly it wasn't easy given we didn't always know who was on, who went last, etc. Some of us have to sleep you know so when we come back and we have to pickup the sermon queue because nobody has been keeping track, it's kinda difficult at times. In any case, I'm hoping I won't have to babysit the sermon queue so much this year to get it right and keep it on track. Perhaps others have ideas on how to better manage the sermon queue this year. Maybe assign some people who want to volunteer at different times of the day/night to see how much coverage we have and then they can post updates on the queue status somewhere? I don't know, just throwing it out there. P.S. I do prefer using a dedicated forge for myself that people can just fill up. That's just how I do things and it's how I did things last year. I focus on everything in one forge and usually I'm busy enough with items going in and coming out that I don't even need to look at the other forges. On rare occasion, I may have to in order to keep working but last year that seldom happened. I worked out of the same forge almost the entire event.

  12. I congratulate this decision because it won't disrupt the existing player base while allowing for returning players to chose to come back to the old servers or start fresh on the new servers. This is a good incentive for returning players who sold their accounts and want to breathe some life back into their Wurm Online experience. I find that when people are concerned with reaching their goals as fast as possible, that's when they get bored of the game (same issue in other games). What's the point of rushing through the game when you can play casually and still have fun for years to come? At least, that's how I've approached it and I have plenty to do on my 3 characters for quite some time to come so long as my health holds (3rd transplant incoming) but I won't get into that. Anyway, for those who "ran out of steam" (no pun intended), they now have the option to start fresh and enjoy the playing experience all over again. Last but not least, congratulations @Samool and to our dearly beloved @Buddafor all the hard work!
