  8. [21:40:40] <Neville> I have a large maul, iron (SDN83L82C44M54) that has a mail limit of 0, so I cannot sell it to anyone because I can't CoD the item... so I'm asking if the mail limit can be reset on the item? [21:45:31] <Enki> okay I understand now. I do not think we can reset it, but what you need to do is make a request in suggestions and ideas of the forum to have the mechanic removed that limits this mailing stuff [21:45:44] <Enki> get support for it and the devs will try and fit it into their schedule [21:48:02] <Enki> we will also point this out to our Community Relations Coordinator to push

  13. A couple of days after my last post, I discovered that PayPal will automatically charge your CC to resolve a negative balance. You can't remove the CC when your account has a negative balance either. Therefore, since I owe a lot less than most people here, I just swallowed the $70 loss and closed my PayPal account permanently. I wish the price of silver on the WO store was 1EU = 1s because I think it would eliminate the need/want of players buying silver from other players. I think it would inject more silver into the game and the shop would also make more money from players. Reason being, for some people like myself the exchange rate from EU to my currency is abysmal. I doubt this will happen though and it's just a dream. Anyway, I will no longer buy/sell deeds, items or silver for real money in Wurm Online. This aspect of the game that was once possible is now dead for me. I will just have to stick to buying silver from the shop and since I know it costs a lot of money, I will have to limit how much I buy and focus more on grinding my skills to get to 70 or 80 to be in a position to make money in-game with more ease.
  14. I agree with Ondar and I will not be using PayPal ever again. In fact, PayPal can go ahead and ban my account if they want as they would be doing me a favour. I will be removing any information I can from the account. I won't be paying one cent towards resolving the negative balance in the account unless they send me a warning to pay out the account. By then, they will have spent more money to recover the funds from me than the negative balance in the account. I guess PayPal needs to start losing money before they start protecting consumers as a priority instead of fraudsters. -- As you know, we have been working with the buyer's credit card issuer to dispute the chargeback detailed below. Buyer's name: Neal Hicks Buyer's email: nealhicks@gmail.com Buyer's transaction ID: 2U5267424F846111G Your transaction ID: 0VJ982428V1304424 Transaction date: April 30, 2016 Transaction amount: €35.00 EUR Disputed amount: $42.73 USD The credit card issuer decided the chargeback in the buyer's favor as the buyer met the card issuer's requirements. Although we cannot dispute this transaction any further, we encourage you to contact your buyer directly to reach a resolution. Thank you for your patience during this process. We appreciate your business. Sincerely, PayPal
  15. I checked the closed case on PayPal's website and even though it's closed, you may notice it says the status is "Disputing on Your Behalf" as in my case. If you click the link it brings you to another page that says the following: "Step 8 - Credit card company evaluates case (Up to 75 days) The credit card company evaluates the information presented by PayPal on the seller's behalf. This review can take up to 75 days and PayPal will notify the seller by email when the case is decided. Any funds PayPal is able to recover will be returned to the seller." Just a quick edit to mention this... Think about all the time and money being spent by PayPal and the Credit Card issuer to process each of our cases. You'd think that PayPal and the Credit Card issuer are losing a lot more money having to process all of this than they are regaining from us through chargeback fees or other means. Perhaps there is still light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe if the Credit Card issuer and PayPal realize "Hey, why are we spending all this time and money going through all these cases? All the man hours and salaries we're paying people to process all of this is a waste. Let's reverse all the charges and nail this guy!" I guess we'll see...
  16. I submitted 10 different attachments including chat logs, links to the forums, forum posts showing all of us getting scammed by the guy, chat logs with in-game support (ticket I had opened) confirming it's the same guy, etc. The question is whether or not PayPal will actually submit all of this evidence to the credit card issuer when they say " We want to help you, and are disputing this case with your buyer's financial institution." Honestly though, what's their incentive if they already said that "This transaction was not marked as eligible for Seller Protection." To me, this is basically PayPal washing their hands of the situation. Their policy doesn't require them to protect us any further because well, it's not eligible for protection.
  17. PayPal reversed the transactions the first time as it was their jurisdiction. Failing that, the scammer is now going through the credit card issuer and PayPal is now leaving up to them to decide. I don't know if "he wins" just yet because it all depends on what the credit card issuer does. However, I don't have much faith in consumer protection in this case.
  18. PayPal is now saying "We want to help you, and are disputing this case with your buyer's financial institution." but on the other hand they are also saying "This transaction was not marked as eligible for Seller Protection." http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/messenger/203528/&page=9#comment-589114 The scammer (Neil Hicks) entered a written contract with you, probably agreed in a chat log to pay you in EU for currency or items in the game, and the game owners have the ability to identify the individual and show that it's him even if they won't disclose that information to us because of privacy. In other words, it's a legal contract. It doesn't matter if PayPal says the transactions are not eligible for Seller Protection or the Credit Card issuer decides in your favor or not, it's still financial fraud and it's still against the law. The fact that PayPal or the Credit Card issuer don't want to assume responsibility is one thing, but that doesn't make this scam legal. However, here's the sad part about this whole thing. Despite all of this, I'm sure this person is banking on the fact that PayPal and the Credit Card issuer won't protect us and that each and every one of us would have to fight him in court or through some sort of class action lawsuit. He's also banking on the fact that no one will want to bother going through all of that to fight him. In the end, he wins, PayPal wins because they get to issue chargeback fees to everyone, and his Credit Card issuer probably benefits in some way too. The only people that lose in this whole scenario are all the victims of this scam and there is no consumer protection here at all. As for me personally: Do I want to ever buy / sell items for real money in Wurm Online or any other game again for that matter? No. Do I want to ever do business with PayPal again after this? No.
  19. This is the thread that was linked to me from a CM/GM after I posted a support ticket about the issue: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/messenger/203528/&page=1
