  1. Creature spawning mechanics are not working as intended, aggressive ratio settings aren't working. I'm having an issue with my server (latest stable version), I have the creature count set to 40,000 on a 4096 map with "Aggressive Creatures" set to 90%, so 10% would be non-aggressive? Yet after 5 mins from an empty creature count, there are already over the limit (10% of 40,000 = 4000) for non-aggressive creatures. Am I missing something here? *SQLitebrowser shows the same 90% ratio set in the wurmlogin.db Tests: Regardless of cap, a 40,000 (90% Agg) creature count seems to always return; Black Wolf: 3201 Horse: 2801 Pheasant: 1601 Crab: 1201 Dog: 1201 Pig: 1201 Ram: 1201 Sheep: 1201 Bison: 1300+ Dolphin: 150 Octopus: 150 etc Reduce this to 10,000 (90% Agg) and we see a similar effect in play; Black Wolf: 802 Horse: 701 Lion: 601 Brown Bear: 401 Deer: 401 Pheasant: 401 Bison: 385+ Deer: 301 Dog: 301 Sheep: 301 Crab: 101 Dolphin: 100 Octopus: 100 etc The creature Aggressive % is suppose to be 'approximate', this isn't even approximately close (closer to 40%) and we always see vastly greater amounts of non-aggressive's than aggressive's. Note: When WU came out, we had all creatures, hell horses, hell hounds, spiders in the forest etc, it was magical and fun. At some point, we started noticing less and less of them until eventually creatures like spiders, bears, scorps, lava spiders would only seem to appear near their respective dens, leaving a forest full of sheep, rams, horses, cows, bulls, pigs, wolves, lions and the rarely seen kitty, with our mines being run by cave bugs and rats only. Has someone done borked?

  3. windowed resizable bugs

    Just to rule out: Using a window size program to split their larger monitors into multiple zones? Such as MaxTo? MaxTo does have a resize issue that causes the zones to shrink and expand each time they're reloaded, causing the client to generate a new resolution file (and subsequently resetting the layout) to track the new resolution. MaxTo are aware of and are trying to resolve this issue in their software.

    Note: There are altars available on-deed (DB), could have asked instead of leaving me to spend the next 30+ mins removing your discarded trash on my shoreline (been here most the day GMT). Do I need to visit the hunt site to clean up there too? Spent a lot of time fixing up this area of the map. ~_~
  5. Do you like the new fishing system?

    I like the 'idea' of the new fishing update, but in practicality, it feels heavily bugged or unbalanced. It's not explained well at all, there's no indicators for the gear use (Something you'd expect LORE to do maybe?). Several days fishing, several different types of tackle, bait etc. I've not caught anything other than piddling herring with a rod/reel combination. Most fish will "Jump the hook" or just run off with the gear. Even piddling herrings are walking off with the float, bait, line AND reel on a frequent basis (all 50+ql). Having to spend 2 days+ crafting fishing gear (+ ample replacements) and have all that gear disappear entirely in an hour or two is ridiculous, let alone not even catching anything of substantial value. Fishing is not this frustrating and certainly not this difficult IRL, especially with this gear.

    The vehicle litter eyesore that sits there for 1, 2... 5... years, yet can't be removed, general off-deed low-decay nonsense, the stale economy... 10 years is a long time with no reasonable sinks what-so-ever in the game to balance things out - To that point, I have several surplus high end chars I want to delete; Delete button please?
  7. UI too small on 1080p screen.

    I recently updated my graphics drivers(Nvidia, DEC build) and WO is now incorrectly displaying a 4K UI scale with my 1080p monitor. Any workaround for this other than rolling back the drivers?
  8. Ban character selling/sharing

    If the end-product is to reduce circulation of high-end level characters, a more prominent feature would be to decay skills based on a flat %/month for accounts that go inactive for say... Longer than 30 days. A lot of characters prior to being sold sit around on the bench so-to-speak for some time before being traded up. At the same time, ignoring acc sales, there are also an awful lot of players that go inactive for 3..4..5+ months, skill in my opinion should reflect that.
  9. Halloween Tricks & Treats!

    You'll probably find that everyone's spamming the overworld so much that mobs are spawning underground in droves or elsewhere on the overworld where the population isn't visiting as often. Checkout some mines, once the hoard where-ever it may be is cleared, they should spawn in expected areas again. My areas pretty dry at the moment on Deli (had quite a few hunters today!)... Except for a huge underground mine nearby which is chok-a-block with mobs.

    This took way longer than I admit to make. So, I finally finished this map, which we've linked to our current server (The Adventurer's) as players move over to it. It's a good map for hunting, exploring, with amazing views from some of the mountain peaks. The zip contains; World Machine TMD ( I used to help create this (with notes) - maybe it can help with designing your own map for those struggling with WM(?). Height-map (for those who want to re-design some of the attributes) Ores-map Topology map Biomes-map In-game grid-based map to help navigate. All the .map files required to play this world, etc. There is no actions file, the sheer list of actions (undo/redo/undo/redo etc) would likely kill lower end computers, due to old age and I keep forgetting to hit save actions before closing the program... *TMD/Map is free to use, manipulate, create your own maps, no need to ask, just go and have fun!   11. Trying to open "Manage Citizens" via inventory or token as mayor OR any villager part of that town with management perms. The window will not appear. Open "Manage Citizens" from either token/inventory. Support Ticket: #63435 Wagoner Derty was removed via deed shrinkage. Wagoner was setup at a new location, same name, Derty. I've reset my player data in the client, thinking that maybe the window was somehow moved off screen (32:9 screen, easy for things to get lost, usually), however, this did not fix it. The window just won't appear, was working fine a few days ago, today, nada, the only thing that's changed in the last few days; a) patch, b) our wagoner was moved yesterday. Since other deeds don't have an issue with their citizen management, I'm guessing the wagoner has bugged out my towns citizens management somehow. I am assuming that there is a conflict with the WurmID somehow for the wagoner and that is breaking the Manage Citizens window, I also think that it may be auto-resolved on the next server reboot when the server notices the issue, whenever that may be, but I have been asked to report this by Njorun.

  13. Special Animal Spawning

    I've also noticed this, traited wildcats/wolves/trolls/etc, a champion spider spawned next to me on my dock etc. Yet, I haven't seen any nests around.
  14. New Server / Islands / Region?

    -1 There is also tons of 'fresh' land available on certain servers and a constantly changing world to explore. Populations spread ridiculously thin enough as it is, everywhere is like a ghost town, ruins and decay.
  15. To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing them on PVE, provided their numbers were culled a bit. The only experience PVE has of them is when they spawned en-massé inside players deeds and went on a murderous rampage everywhere.

  17. Looting off deed

    I'd also add to that, any item off deed that hits similar damage that is planted or locked would become un-planted or the lock would 'rust' and become easily removable. This would go a long way to helping those who are trying to clean-up the map, not just from planted BSB's or racks etc, but from abandoned wagons, boats, transporters etc too. I have a clearly abandoned wagon sat next to my deed with 50+ damage on it, hasn't moved at all this entire year, same for some big boats at my neighbours place, who regardless of saying "Please let it decay, don't repair it" have noticed some bright-spark recently has come across and repaired it. We would love to move eyesores like that to our off-deed landfill site.

    Pop the height-map into any terrain generator that supports it and you can re-populate the terrain with any trees/bushes you want and add your own personal touch.

    I get this issue almost every time I cross a border, kind of a long running bug. Usually requires a client restart to fix it.

  21. Animals escaping confinement.

    I just witnessed one of my baby horses walk through the wall of my house at Dirty Business (Deli) from the locked pen that sits against my house underground. Then proceed to try and make it to freedom. Edit: Seems more frequent when animals are seeking food. 9 escapees so far.

    I never considered it to be a graphical glitch. When there are graphical glitches on entity locations, you tend not to be able to lead said glitched graphical animal (or interact with it or the affected player) unless you are next to their actual location on the server, because, graphical glitch, and ofc, reloading the client usually re-syncs any graphically-mislocated entities. This horse escaped straight through a solid brick house wall right in front of me, I was able to lead it straight away. It escaped, plain and simple. :/ I've heard stories, oh the stories, ever since animals were able to wander occupied tile borders, but I've never actually experienced it, till now. Could the tile border issue be related? Edit: Happened 2 more times. >_<

    Evidently, buildings won't contain animals in mines... You know, since my horse just walked straight through a solid building wall.
  25. [Preview] Animation glitches

    Noticed on the preview client that helmets such as the chain helmet, kind of become disjointed and out of sync during certain animations (digging for example) and the player model's head will show through the helmet. https://prnt.sc/ioso72
