  1. I've been exploring going back to Release. I did just create a char on Xanadu though. I ran around Release for awhile with a noob, but just not sure about it. I do like the Hermit life, at the same time, I want to revisit the old places. I'm just playing around with getting back into things, and not sure where to go. Went for some time without reliable internet due to being in the woods, all my mains are on Chaos...

  2. Slow-paced, play the way you want, this game offers all playstyles imo. Take a break, come back, be engaged, or not engaged. It's up to you. I remember dial up and DragonLance floppies. Unregulated chat rooms as a freshman in HS. Pit Fall. The first Metroid. No cell phones. ugh dating myself here.

  3. Harvestmoon is a great village for all levels of players. I joined in 2014 and am always willing to help out anyone, as are the other villagers. @Johnston3I often give new players equipment if they would like better equipment, and we never expect anything in return here. We are just players who love to help out new people. I'll travel the whole server to pick someone up so they don't have to waste their village teleport. Everyone here is super helpful. Whoever wants to join can pm me as well. Happy Wurming!

  4. Great video. Harvestmoon Lagoon is a great deed. Been here since 2014. So many great players of the game have came to this deed, grown, and moved on to become their own deed owners and exceptional players in the community. Just pm us on the forums or in game and we'll be happy to come pick you up on any server. We focus on helping new players learn the game. We also welcome experienced players a place to join, live, and regroup! A very friendly community exists not only at HM, but on Release. Come and see for yourself :)

I wouldn't be against helping chip in if people wanted to pool together to get this man a new hota if that's what it'd take to keep you in the game.

As much as I understand the rules allow it, the deed dropped and such, it's still lame you lost something. I don't know you at all, but it'd be better for us all to keep people in the game so I'm happy to work with anyone who'd like to if you'd maybe consider staying.

I'm ill sorry if I cannot into English

Same...don't leave. The game is getting small enough as it is

People who knows me, knows also that I am an forever adventurer. At least used to spend 3/4 of my time in wilderness for years.

During every travel, I used to meeting new players. If I had no more important things to go after, I tend to talk to new people and help them for a day or two. Making some tools, gathering as much resources as i could in several hours. Explaining things... but also there were situations when i decided to stay longer at newbies places. Protecting them and fencing till they could fight bears on their own or decide to build towers. Just like you said, if youre a new player, you might find a lot of interactions, from just a talk to even unexpected help, visitors.

Thing is, in past few months i've met only 2 or 3 random new players on my ways. While not long ago Ive seen them on almost every journey.

Maybe i got unlucky, maybe not. In fact i don't believe in luck or lack of luck. Only analyze what i see.

Best part of this game imo

Truth is, there are almost... none randoms. We know almost all players by their names. I know most people on Xanadu and i can remember most of their living areas. So it's not just "randoms". Just players we know... but perhaps didn't befriended or be in kind enough relations. I mean on single server at least. Of course there are people we have almost no idea about, but rarely we see strange names that aren't completely new players.

I am a random nobody and have found 5 ❤️ I pm whoever I think may be online to say hey, there is a bad guy here. I do not know enough about how to pen to do the deed myself.

My contention is and has always been that the game is not really about making money from playing it but rather playing it for the enjoyment that it provides.

    My sentiment exactly.

  9. Sure thing Panda. What I was hoping for was a compilation of those "starred" threads for "Community Map." for each server. Not every server has it at the top like Xan or Release does, and named "Community Map." Thank you all for your help. I'll think about and perhaps make one. Would be a handy tool when you randomly cross servers and need deed-name reference.

That's odd because I clicked on the one in the Wurmpedia thread, it is dated 4-14-2019, which seems very recent to me.

But if you are willing to spearhead something like that, I am sure there might be someone who uses it (I still find Wurmpedia's MAP icon the easiest and fastest lookup)

I'll check it further, thanks. --edit: that is the one I ended up using, but I think I found an older link via my Googling. Strange. I believe mine was 2017.

What I was proposing was One Thread to rule them all. Rather than navigating to each server thread. If there is one, that is all I was asking. If there isn't, I propose there be one :)

I didn't mean there shouldn't be individual server threads. There def should be. However, I am proposing a mass-updated thread for all servers. We like to cross back and forth, right? For exploring or trading purposes? Well, it would rly be nice to have all servers' comm maps that are not map dumps, but "deed dumps" - i.e. updated by players, to be in one thread so we aren't 50-tabbing.

But then someone has to update that thread for you every time each community map maker does an update?

    Or are you volunteering?

It's not for me specifically. It is for the community. And it could be editable (I wonder if it can be?) by more than one? Idk. Maybe someone could be responsible for it. I'll volunteer - as it only involves receiving links from each servers's map admin. I literally sit at work and read the forums for 8 hrs all day (server admin..fun).  My thread was asking if there was one I was missing, and if not, there should be.
