  1. A solo player can plant a 25m radius totem. Then as more people join your tribe the radius expands.
  2. you two got a crush on each other or somethin ;D ...get a room!
  3. I tried playing maximized mode on my primary all day yesterday using LWJGL. It verges on unplayable. Everytime I activate any app other than the maximized app, all of my screens flicker on and off for a couple seconds as all the monitors' switch modes. Considering that I'm normally multitasking several apps at once (which is the purpose a windowed environment and development using Java to begin with) this is really distracting and not something you just "get used to". The last comment just really isn't constructive and is the type of immature SW developer BS that is the reason I keep my developers away from my customers lest they drive them off. Volunteers or not, as soon as developers start blowing raspberries at their customers the project is in trouble. A real problem is a REAL problem. There's no way to rationalize it or justify it's existence or any other of that stuff and expect provide a quality product that grows in customer base and market share over time.
  4. Because the client developer response to the very first concrete issue that was raised was that they were going to offer an alternate and inferior approach to window resizing rather than the dynamic window resizing a capability we have today using JOGL.
  5. There's no way to maximize a window on one monitor while remaining in windowed mode using the LWJGL client:( Anytime my Wurm client is active at full resolution the tool bar is hidden. This is a big step backward in client usability for me. Using JOGL I normally open the client in full resolution windowed mode and double click the title bar of Wurm client to maximize. It fills the screen of my primary monitor while the tool bar remains visible at the bottom so i can select other apps or minimize as necessary.
  6. My village model can be downloaded from this link: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=e86d6e067efa041d6d9a487aadb2c92e&prevstart=0 Zoom into the main village area and you'll find models for a lot of objects that you can copy and import into your model. One tip, don't bother with with roof models. Just enclose the top of your structure with a flat plane then use a 2m offset and autofold (alt-Move) the inner polygon upwards 1m. Copy/Paint the texture from my model and you're done. Once you get the hang of it you can put a roof on any structure in 1-2 min.
  7. Thank you. I appreciate the compliment. Moving dirt around. I typically have two projects going at once, one a dirt source and the other a dirt sink.
  8. I've been terraforming that deed since the first day of the server, so I do want to protect it. Plus Rolf seems like a nice young chap. I wanna do my part to make sure he gets the funds he deserves to keep the game going. All told in a few years of playing Wurm I don't think I've spent what it cost me in tires for a single race weekend in my other hobby. Cost per hour of enjoyment you just can't beat it.
  9. More than that as i have quite a large perimeter to allow for future expansion...i like to dig....
  10. Boondock is currently S50 (101x101) still growing though as I'm running out of deed to terraform. link to wiki page: http://wurmonline.com/wiki/index.php?title=Boondock
  11. Why don't we just make Weapon Smithing easier? Isn't the real issue that the time commitment to become a master at that skill is out of whack relative to the other crafting skills? This avoids the whole need to re-balance everything in the first place. We get more smiths capable of making 90ql weapons. Trade increases, prices go down. The monopolies on Weapon Smithing go away. Wurm wins:)
  12. The game already has too many JOATs in my opinion. This change just increases the ability to "do it all yourself" which hurts trade, the economy, and is counter to the philosophy of playing a sandbox MMO vs. a single player game. I recommend to put it back the way it was. It should take time and effort to master a trade in this game and the products made by masters should be noticeably better than those of a common craftsman.
