  1. Black dot is (approximately) Jaynestown - Talmont Forest no longer exists. The square the dot is inside is 17x, 8y. I'm the mayor of Jaynestown.
  2. Hi all! I'm the owner/mayor of Jaynestown, in the northwest of Independence, at around 17x, 8y on the map. I'm currently the only one on this deed so I'm looking for a few more villagers to populate the area a bit There is a mailbox nearby and in the longer term we're looking at building a path down to the shoreline for boat construction and to set aside a fishing spot. At the moment we have a low QL forge and oven on deed, a well for water, a 5x5 deed perimeter (3x3 fenced), and plenty of untouched land around us ready for expansion. Down the road is an abandoned mine with an iron vein that I've been using until a more suitable mine is opened on the deed, or at least closer. I'm looking for people who: Can help dig out a new mine (there's a large hole so far, but no mine) Offer farming and/or cooking skills Can improve the existing forge/oven and the tools of other villagers that may join Can hunt. There have been a lot of hell hounds in the area as of late, so I've been limited to work within the deed a lot. Other wildlife I've seen includes huge spiders and crocodiles. The area certainly isn't overrun with wildlife though so if you can't offer anything other than hunting skills you'll probably end up bored. Want to be able to build a house or carve out a little bit of the landscape for themselves on a relatively established deed. My long term goals include: Work on the road system in the area and try to improve the route to the rest of Independence. This will include lighting roads and building new roads where they don't exist yet. Build a road to the shoreline and set up a dock and fishing spot. It would be far easier to take goods to market if they could be taken by boat instead of via the unsafe roads to Freedom Market. Animal breeding If any of these sound like you, and you're interested, shoot me a PM on the forum and we'll get you all set up. Also, bonus points if you know the reference in the village name
  3. At the bottom right of 17x, 8y (top right of 17x, 9y), is Jaynestown. I can work on a better image if needed - there's just very little in the way of points of reference on the existing PNG.
  4. There's a mine down the road from my location that is just under 200 dirt deep. I'm at a higher elevation than that mine, so it looks like there's plenty more digging to be done.
  5. Thanks for the ideas - really appreciate it Another alternative might be to get a Mag priest to use Mole senses so I can get an idea of how far we have to dig yet. For all I know, I could be one or two dirts from beginning to expose a rock face, or I could be another 100 dirts. I posted the location of my deed in the Independence map thread a couple days ago, in case anyone is particularly interested in seeing where I am. If you can offer your skills, please PM me or find me in-game so I can set up an ideal time to get this happening. Thanks again
  6. Hi all, I'll probably end up asking in chat for some help when I have a bit more than one or two hours to hang around (just wanted to get an idea as to if it might be possible). The 1-2 s is as much because it's quite a long trek to my deed as it is for the actual digging task itself. For reference, here's what I have right now: http://i.imgur.com/Pd0qb.jpg. You can see that there's already a problem in that the location of the fences aren't so great. An alternative here is to fill in that hole and dig a new one - I feel a bit like a site manager on a construction site at the moment
  7. Hi all, I'm in the northwest of Independence - west of Samling (and northeast of the big peat deposits in that area). I currently have a hole that's about 120 dirts deep, and I've gotten to the point where my digging skill has basically made it impossible to continue. The level of rock is fairly well unknown so for all I know I could be a few dirts from rock, or I could be another 200 dirts... What are my options here? I'd be happy to pay someone 1-2 s to dig and open a mine (once a mine is open, I can tunnel it out and prospect for ore) or alternatively would greatly appreciate some tips. At the point now where having a local mine is proving to be more and more necessary so I'm a bit stuck at the moment. Thanks in advance
  8. 8x 29y: Jaynestown. Images of the map dump and landmass (the latter doesn't have the roads in the area) follow. Once I get myself properly established in Wurm I might consider mapping this northwest region. I'm pretty sure Talmont Forest is no longer an active deed as well.
