  1. I was definitely thinking about cosmetic changes only. I remember way back in the day in UO, when certain ores were just a giant pain to obtain and necessary in order to be viabl e in pvp. However, there is no accounting for what folks will do to obtain certain things, especially when it comes to decorating houses and such. Also, assuming xanadu gets linked to P/R, then it becomes the trade hub, if it is central to all servers. Also, if travel time are formidable enough that people don't find it interesting or compelling, I am curious as to why it is that way? Would more travel and trade not benefit Wurm as a whole? I mean, since Wurm's currency has a direct monetary value then more silver flowing would surely benefit Rolf and devs more than less. Please do not take my remarks as inflammatory in any way. I know I have not been here long enough to be an expert on all aspects of Wurm economy. I do know however, that folks in mmo's are acquisitive and would go to tremendous lengths to obtain a tiger skin rug (by way of example), if such rug would complete the decor of their living room.
  2. That is the point. Far away increases rarity as few will make the trip. Rarity increases the resource value and give people a compelling reason to go there.
  3. We were talking in Pristine earlier and someone was wanting to sail to Release but felt they didn't have a compelling enough reason. The conversation then kind of led into the idea that it would be cool to have certain resources specific to a server, such that people would then have a reason to sail from say Pristine to Release. These resources specific to a server would serve the purpose of generating some trade (and people skilled in obtaining and transporting them.) The ideas we tossed out were server specific ores, possibly stones, woods, and animals. It was thought it would not be possible to transfer the animal itself but rather resources such as ivories, furs, etc.
