At the moment hull planks are plain retarded, it takes 8.8kg of wood to make a hull plank and a log weighs 24kg this means that you can make 2 and only 2 hull planks for every log and you end up with a 6.4kg log that is no use at all. Except for making tenons, but that just gives you a 0.8log and you don't need 1200 tenons to build a boat -.- either change it so we can make hull planks from trees AND logs or make them take 8kg of wood and make no scrap. And oh, make them fit in carts.

They should be made of lead instead of iron. Just like the anchors :

As we all know a full grown pine tree IRL weighs much much more than 200kg before ships this was not a big issue but now with the massive amount of timber ships take, trees need a weight buff so we don't deforest the whole world.

Ofc a ship is only useful for going from point to point, if you in reality moored your ship at an unknown beach somewhere there would be a risk of it getting stolen. In the real world there were safe harbors some places, so ppl sailed there and walked/rode the rest of the way.

this is not nessicary, if harbor gates are made then that will be the best way to protect a boat. Most players will probably be able to overpower the guards anyway and buying crewmembers for more speed undermines the whole idea of teamwork around vehicles

Get rid of it!! In my rowing boat i can't even sail against the wind. And when the wind is stronger than "a breeze is coming from the xxxx" the boat handles like a cow and turns 180 when i press left for a second. Please Rolf get rid of it, it just doesn't work in a game.

Hull planks still need to be able to fit. With my body strength i can carry about 20 hull planks at a time, that's a lot of runs forth and back if you need to build a big ship. FIX plx!

But in reality a small anchor would be less usefull than a large one, since it is not only the weight of the anchor that matters. It is also the size of the anchor that will have a bigger chance to catch something on the ground to grab a hold of. So the "it's smaller argument" doesn't work.

lead also rusts, and lead is deadly poisunous for everything living. Imagine that dissolved in water.

I agree boats should be steal-able, but only after safe harbours have been implemented. Right now every boat is very open to being stolen as you cannot fence it in on the water.

Yes it does bring value but it makes no sense that it has to be made out of lead, iron or steel is more effective

Why is lead the only metal that can be used to create anchors? This should be changed as 20kg of lead is obviusly as heavy as 20 of iron. And the "It brings value to the useless lead metal" no it doesn't because lead is so rare already and it just causes trouble. And a bigger anchor, made out of iron (still 20kg) will also be more able to moor the boat. Also, why does the mooring anchor take a mooring rope when the boat already has one when it's finished? You can't even moore the boat to a tree near land or anything.
