  1. Thank you for the report, we're looking into it. In the mean time, please try waiting a bit and retrying.
  2. The server outage this morning was due to a hardware failure on one of the physical machines hosting our game servers. The initial failure happened around 9:45 UTC, causing the machine to shut down. The actual failure was a hard disk failing. This took out Pristine, Indy, Serenity, Desertion, Exodus, Deli, and Chaos, but also Golden Valley and the webshop, meaning that even if you were on a server that wasn't down, nobody could log in (GV is our login server). We notified our hosting provider (who were already swinging into action), who pulled the machine and replaced the disk. Replacing the hardware didn't take very long, but rebuilding the images took a little bit, so we had to wait for the machine to give the green light before bringing anything back up. We do not expect any significant data loss as a result of this outage, as we use a redundant array configuration. The game servers were brought back up at 11:57 UTC, with all hamsters operating normally from that point. Fun fact: Max handled sorting out the systems from our side, on his laptop, from his allotment. No vegetables were harmed due to this outage.
  3. All game servers should be back up and operational. Thank you for your patience!
  4. All servers should now be up and functional. All hamsters wheels have been greased, as have the hamsters. Thank you for your patience!
  5. The servers should be coming back up now, we're hoping to have everything back online shortly.
  6. We're aware of the issues and are working on them. Apologies for the disruption!
  7. We're aware of the issues and we're working on them. Apologies for the disruption!
  8. The thread looks pinned to me, and I can't see anything about it being unpinned, so I'm not sure what to tell you here. Next time, rather than jumping straight to public doom, can I suggest contacting a member of the forum team directly via PM and we can try to help you? If there's still an issue here, please contact me by forum PM and I'll take another look. Pandalet (LFM)
  9. I'll take a set of rainbow flags and a set of lesbian flags, please. Awesome idea, and my compliments on your dye-husbandry!
  10. This is not actually a bug, although it's not terribly intuitive. Moved to suggestions.
  11. Your cassarole isn't lidded! Tikka'ing the mick with this one...
  12. I can only imagine how hard this is for you - sending positive vibes and all the best wishes! Hope things get better for you both really soon!
  13. Moved to technical issues and merged duplicate threads.
  14. Merged in a few map requests from separate threads.
  15. There's one of those in Western Release, too - the secret bunker, which is on the edge of Home. I don't have any pics of the finished thing, but I do have one of digging the foundations:
  16. We got rid of the dislike buttons from the forums as they were too often used as a trolling mechanism. They won't be coming back. If you dislike something, but not enough to post a reasoned response to it, then just move on. Exactly this. Pandalet (LFM)
  17. As this appears to be a suggestion to remove the extended logout timer after a fight, I've moved it to suggestions.
  18. As has been covered above, there are a number of specific recipes, which can be 'discovered' by a specific person. If you are the first person on a server to make one of those, the recipe (and any foods made using that recipe) will be known as 'your' <food>. These recipes generally need specific ingredients (e.g. pine nuts rather than any nut). Some are completely unique and some are specific versions of generic recipies. They also come in a range of difficulties and complexities. You can only have 1 recipe per server named after your character. Note that there are a few pre-named recipies that are the same everywhere (e.g. Tich's game jalfrezi). These commemorate various people involved in the implementation of the cooking system.
  19. Folks, the argument about whether community maps are official or supported has been answered, and there's no reason to continue it here. As Keenan pointed out, community maps are for and by the community, and have no official involvement, even if staff members choose to participate in a personal capacity. Please move on. The moderation team will be removing further arguments in this vein. Pandalet (LFM)
