I've managed to resolve the problem for me, your post gave me a clue. I've got an android emulator that runs on a virtual box that has it's own network adaptor. I disabled the network adaptor and the game connected fine. The server setup is all correct so it must be a confustion of the client that tries to connect to the wrong adaptor.

I've ensured it's the client IP - I tried changing to 127.0.0.1 just in case but the admin tool says not to do that and use client IP. Where do you see server logs?

Having said that, how could it be firewall / antivirus if it can actually see the server in the LAN list and communicate well enough to know it needs a password and passes the password authentication??

It's not a router issue as I'm running the server on the same machine as the client - I'll look into the antivirus situation and see if that could be affecting it though

Hi, I've followed the instructions here http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=539113618 on how to run a local server. I see my server on the lan and try to connect. It asks for my password I enter it. it goes to the loading screen and then almost straight away I get the error; Network error: <Connection refused: connect> I've tried to connect to public servers. Some of them work, others have the same problem. I've checked to see if my steam installation of Wurm Unlimited and Wurm Server are up to date, which they are. Anybody got any ideas of what I've got wrong or how to better diagnose what the problem is? Thanks
