This tool looks like it would be amazing but I have been completely unable to get it fully working. I can get the web interface working and the mod loaded perhaps? But if I edit wurm.ini to enable incoming RMI, the server crashes on startup with less-than-descriptive errors. If there is any kind of answer others who've had a similar issue could offer, I would be immensely thankful.

Reposting shortcut creation bit for more viewing; 1. Create a shortcut on the desktop by right clicking the desktop and going to new and then shortcut: 2. In the "Type the location of the item:" field, type in: 3. Put a name in to the "Type a name for this shortcut:", name it whatever you want, i named it "Wurm workaround" 4. Click finish and double-click the newly created shortcut and it should work fine c:\windows\system32\javaws.exe -J-Dhttp.agent=Mozilla http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp

Problem is that when highlighting, copying and pasting that, it takes the shortened URL with it which won't work. If these forums had attachments enabled this would be easier.

replace wurmclient.jnlp with http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp, should work unless you use a custom jnlp file for whatever reason. Right click that link and copy URL, highlighting and copying it won't work right.

How goofy, I do wonder why they added this measure without setting it to accept whatever user-agent info the wurm client sends. I can confirm that this does work. You're also able to simply add "-J-Dhttp.agent=Mozilla" (without quotes) to the target field in the desktop shortcut for Wurm BEFORE "-J-Djnlp.application.href=..."

Then why is it sometimes working in the client? I also got a normal 200 response when accessing the page from telnet in command-line, which as far as I know isn't sending any user-agent info.

It appears to be an intermittent issue. I was able to get it to run just now.

How would one go about manually updating? Sorry if there was a page/thread explaining that. EDIT: nevermind, found it. Slow to download. I imagine this won't fix it but I might as well try

I know how to use it, i just meant to the people posting the error. I've never seen the login server show as online there though.

Is there not a spoiler function on these forums? It would help cut down the thread size to collapse the error in to a spoiler tag. I'm also getting the error What's more is that visiting the URL in the error in a browser gives normal results rather than a 403 (which is HTTP forbidden).
