  1. Deeply saddened to hear of this. I haven't been around ingame for some time now, however he's one name I don't think I'll ever forget! Humorous in many ways, eventful to deal with as a staff member in global chat, and a rather interesting fellow to chat to on a personal level. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

  2. While we never crossed paths in game, nor as staff members that I recall. I have a lot of respect for anyone who gives up their free time to help this game out, and seeing all the love shown for Eir  is really quite something. I'd occasionally hear updates on how you were doing from chats amongst other staff members and I'd kept you among my thoughts, hoping you'd make a recovery. Rest in Peace Eir. My thoughts are with your loved ones at this time.

  3. By all appearances, it's been tidied up so that only the most relevant threads are publically visible. If there is anything missing that you believe should be reinstated please don't hesitate to alert us to that. :)

Is it really too much to ask for a fair event for a change? I heard you spawned a dragon without warning. I was told doing this was impossible for a staff member who said it would be unfair. Remember when I asked for one at the impalong?  (You could've made a fun event out of it but nope.)

You make annoying cipher quest like events that reward the same people pretty much every time. I'm starting to think it's a conspiracy. Normal players can't even do it afterwards for a lesser reward. I hate that I spent tons of hours trying to do that event. All in vain.

You randomly give stuff out to each other but the player have to fend for scraps in global chat with you're riddles, that happen in 'aussie' hours and probably only once. I heard staff members are getting 99ql supreme/fantastics this year with custom names. Player crafting is a joke right now most of us, use iron. Very very few of us, use other high end materials. Stuff like this makes player crafting pointless and hurts the economy. The player can't even name our wares like you guys can. So how is your 99ql fantastic "Brickcutter 9000" addy chisel doing for you? Not saying staff don't deserve rewards, but there is a thing called money, silver, sleep powder. I'm totally against overpowered items worth 100's of euro's being given out like this.

Want a honest review? Sop making events that less than 1% of the ingame population can attend because it's all 'aussie' hours. Please be more fair. Be more transparent with your events. Stop doing things on a whim. The best event are xmas tree, ones that have dates, /redeem code, or a simple ingame task to "craft" it.

    Happy new years, I guess.

In what way would you class this as unfair? By the way things look, everyone had the same opportunity to get to these chests.

You cannot cry conspiracy just because you were unable to get an event reward. Not when, and I'll reiterate this, everyone stood on equal footing for them. Perhaps your strengths don't lie in solving puzzles? That's fair enough. Not everyone is good at doing the same things. In that same vein, however, other events where you have succeeded in obtaining a reward would show where your strengths lie, and others do not. I've yet to see anyone else shouting about people conspiring against them because of this.

In what way do the gifts that staff members may have received over the years hurt the economy? I've yet to see any of the named items hit the market for sale, nor would I expect to see them. When the items gifted have a specific meaning to the individual staffer I don't believe that the thought of selling them would even cross their minds. Not everyone plays this game with the sole intention of monetising their playing experience. Why are you against it? Is it because you yourself aren't receiving one? Is it because you have the belief that it'll cause irreversible damage to the economy? Given that the volunteer staff of this game selflessly give up hundreds of hours of their time to aid in the running and well-being of this game, I'd say they more than deserve a Christmas gift.

Let's say your a staff member. It's your job to do events, your goal is to make people stick around and not leave the game.

Do you think it's good to keep making events that only the 1% elite clique can do? No. Mind you this clique is probably friends with you.

Surely in doing these random events, they're succeeding in that goal of keeping players engaged and playing the game? I'm not sure where you get the idea of there being some elite group of players that get advance warning, or unfair advantages from, but I assure you that it's entirely false, and reads as rather delusional and unfairly accusational.

    Last year I found one,

I kept my complaint to myself because of that, I didn't think it was fair for people who searched and never got one. Alt abuse was a big thing last year also.

That, to me, reads a lot like you're only complaining about it when you yourself are unable to obtain these items. Especially given your first line from your first post in this thread.

  5. This is a song that means a lot to me, one that really resonates with me. Whenever things look bleak, I listen to this song as a reminder that no matter how bad things appear, you can always rise from the ashes eventually. The chorus is permanently inscribed on my shoulder blade for that very reason.

    Embrace - Ashes

  6. My condolences and thoughts are with you Envy. You had left the team by the time I'd joined a few years back as a CA, but by all accounts you were a damn good staffer. Hopefully you manage to beat this. Cherish the time you can with your loved ones. Especially your pupper!

  7. I know some of you on these forums love seeing pictures of my fur babies, so it saddens me even more to say this. Unfortunately, my little bear, Benji, was killed on Tuesday night. I'll share some pictures of him here, including the last one I took of him on Saturday, some of them you may have already seen.

Don't buy accounts and you wont get fatigued/bored. When you have nothing to work towards, what's the point? It's like using cheat codes or something in Skyrim or another game; you go on a murder spree and stop playing it permanently afterwards - people who do this are just ruining the experience.

If you can't stop doing that, just take a break for a few months try some other games, because "Wurm is waiting" so they say..

The point? To have fun in your own way. I love building deeds in Wurm, and I'm limited by my own skills when it comes to that, so must rely on others for certain things. If I bought an account I could do it all myself for the most part. I don't find joy in endless grinding in games. I'd like to use and do what I'd want to do (within the rules, of course). You say it ruins the experience, but that doesn't ring true for everyone. That's why it's nice to have the option there to jump right to a point and jump into the game without needing to grind.

  9. Having reviewed this thread, this sale comes across as rather deceptive. What you're selling here isn't a magic chest, as you do not own it. Instead, you are selling a deed which happens to have an unlocked magic chest on it.

This sale is now locked, you are welcome to adjust it to be less deceptive and repost it.

    Thanks,

    GM Team

Strange, I did not have that issue with my Gear VR.  Though the experience was not as all encompassing as a full dive would be.

update... oh of course, might have to do with the phone used..

I think it was a Samsung Galaxy S6. Might internet be a factor too? I'm not too clued up on the technology.

  11. A friend of mine who played WU tried to get his Gear VR working with it. I believe it was more of a virtual desktop type thing though, but had the head movement matched. The downside was a pretty noticeable latency between moving your head, and the characters head moving.

I am not a native english speaker (Spanish as a first language). Yet I believe I am rather fluent on both written and spoken English. Hell, I know a great deal of people who write english perfectly while not being native speakers, while I know a few American and British people who have English as a first language, yet they write like neanderthals.

As with most, I never would've guessed English wasn't your first language. I must admit, I'm a little surprised! Your English seems better than some people I know in real life haha

I am sure they can mark the area with GM signs and make it a Herritage Place. They do it all the time on Freedom for Canals. That alone should be enough. Why was this not done in the first place is beyond me.

I do not agree with gm-protected herritage sites on epic.

If a memorial is to be made then make it at the starter and with "regular" items.

And even then the starter deeds are raidable.

It was a shitty thing to be done but hota decorational statues in the end is a reward from hota/pvp.

What it really comes down to is that you choose to decorate with the statues in a way you saw fit. There shouldn't be staff magically protecting your way of using the decorative rewards on a pvp server.

Just so you are both aware, there are no Heritage Sites on the Epic servers, nor on Chaos. As far as I'm aware, there never has been either.

Nothing will stop them taking them again. I would also look at JKH as the kingdom doing it as it's more likely somebody went to the hassle of moving them via wagon/carrying them than somebody on that server bringing a knar over/carry them off.

New players/old players returning may join and just take them not knowing what it's about. There really isn't any "kingdom" who pvps who needs the statues and it would be considered a waste of their time tbh.

As long as they're planted, I don't believe it's possible for a player of the same kingdom to take them.

  15. I find it to be a wholly disrespectful act. Looting a village for a few HoTA's is one thing, but stealing them from a memorial to a fallen player is...well....downright disgusting.

While well within the rules of the game, I would've hoped that the individuals who took these would have some degree of morals about them. Evidently not.

Words fail to describe the disappointment I feel in whoever took it upon themselves to take them. As Zenity mentioned, quite a few of the people who helped to create that memorial have since moved on from the game. I remember the group of us who banded together to put together something to commemorate our friend who passed a couple of years ago. I know the individuals from that group would also be disappointed in those who did this.
