  1. So the starter tent is incredibly valuable. It weighs a fraction of what player made tents weigh. When someone new starts playing Wurm, they are just unaware of how fragile they are and how MUCH they will regret losing them later in the game. 1. Can we make them more durable? 2. Can we have a message when they are dropped that explains how fast they decay and how terribly sad we will be that it can never ever be replaced by one equally as awesome? 3. Can we have a reminder that our tents are out there, alone and lonely, taking damage from our thoughtless neglect? Maybe a once a day reminder? I know I've lost them throughout the years and any time I go to a hunt, I sigh at the giant pile of cloth that's 3.5 megatons of bulk. Practically need a wagon to haul it around. 4. Please allow the starters to be tradable again?? Please? Last but not least: 5. Starter tent holiday gifts? Ones that can be traded? Ones we can dye?
  2. No. This created some pretty big problems when it could be done in the past, so now it is prevented. (edit spelling and word swap)
  3. If you pave nearest corner, then use the "repeat" hot key, it just does a normal pave.
  4. I don't think this will happen. I think there are some buggy things with bridges that will keep devs from allowing it. It took several years for them to iron it out to even be able to release bridges, so I doubt they want to mess with something that is pretty solid now - except for the gate/door glitch when they touch bridges. Still gotta get that fixed I believe.
  5. It would be great if they ever found a fix for invisible alts.
  6. So while voting here is great, the forums are only a small part of the player base and can seriously get it wrong, for the vast majority of Wurm players. Creating a new Suggestions Forum is probably not a great idea, as it will probably be just a portion of the people from here that sign up for it and use it, so you now have an even smaller sampling of the Wurm population. I for one don't want YET ANOTHER web page to log into and repeatedly check for wurm related stuff. Every login I make is yet another bit of personal data I have to stick out there for a data breach. So I'll probably just voice my suggestions here and opinions here. Best thing about this thread is the mention of Roadmaps. TYTY! Hopefully I'll be able to see those updates as links within the forums here and not get blocked by a signin requirement. If you REALLY want to reach the player base, make it part of the UI and have a popup on login that direct users to a new suggestion for voting, or new roadmap release. Yes, you have an issue of wealthy players voting their 20 prem accounts, but honestly, that is still far better than the forums sampling you will get, which would be far more unbalanced. I'll PM you a thought I have that may help illustrate my point.
  7. I agree with this. I was already thinking how I would go in and try to solo, to test the skill gains. If it works, I think these will be highly sought after solo events for PvP players, wanting to push FS to the limits.
  8. I was talking with allies last night and suggested how fun it would be to be able to bash the towers. Maybe another use for disintegrate spell? Make archery the easiest way to take care of them, but give ground troops "non-archers" a slower, more tedious way to handle them too?
  9. This pic shows a couple of the UI components that get pushed back from the right edge of the client window on loading. I had both stuck tight to the right edge and "locked window", before logging out. I have not tested all the UI components - will leave that for whomever dig into this. Not sure if the same happens to the left side or not. Another thing that is undesirable with the UI is the tool tip's habit of blocking text of the item you hover over and the pointer blocking part of the tool tip text, when you are at the bottom of the screen. Not a huge deal, but regularly inconvenient. It might just be too complex of an issue to have the tool tip intellegently choose different locations, to prevent this from happening? I know we have right click menus that auto switch from left to right, depending on how close to the edge of the client you are.
  10. Agreed. I personally will never skill it though, just so I can be the one taking out towers. I'll gladly clear the ground level minions and spam freedom for someone that has a bow. I'm pretty eager to discover the CR of these new goblins. Will they be on par of close to the GL? Half way from a champ to a GL? Could a very strong solo player take them out one by one? How far will they stray from camp, as in how far away shall I park my horse? I bet it is the same as rifts that way. Mini pens will be popping up everywhere. Fun times ahead.
  11. Well, only the foreground alt (client Window) needs 30 or more FPS. It isn't like you can actively do things in 2 clients at once, since you can only click in one window at a time. I have them all mining or whatever at the same time, but most are just running off the action queue I set before switching to the next window. Having the background set to more than minimum is just for heating up the room you are playing in, in RL.
  12. Cartography seems interesting, but not sure how much time I could invest in it with all the other skills out there that I really need to focus on. Diety stuff - I honestly wish diety business would go away and just have spells. No more domains, no more praying. Goblin camps sound pretty fun. It is really too bad that archery is a requirement though. It just means another stack of equipment we need to carry around. Most games I love being an archer, but I really REALLY dislike Wurm's version of it.
  13. Heh, never considered running alts in 30+. I can do 40 with background set to 5 though, on laptop with a 2k nvidia. Bottleneck for that many alts is RAM all the way. After about 12-15 alts (depending on my other running apps), Windows starts pushing RAM to disk (SSD), but I really don't notice much impact when that starts happening, other than crashes become slightly more likely. However, that could simply be the odds increasing as clients increase, since each client has a built in "crash chance RNG" Also, thanks for mining rocks in Wurm, rather than alternate currencies in RL with it.
  14. Great patch and ty very much for the 300 slope on PvE.
  15. Also an issue we discovered on Pristine that took devs a considerable amount of time to try fixing. In the end it was much cleaner to prevent attaching to an entrance.
  16. I reported the cave entrance thing about 2 years ago on Pristine and I thought it was already prevented? I literally tried casting at an entrance a week ago to confirm and it didn't work then. Very odd.

So in regards to the big slaying events - I would like to add my two cents, as I participated in the two most recent dragon kills that were made public. What happens before the hunt is 300 characters gradually migrating from various locations, to accumulate at the event, over the course of an hour or two. Some come well in advance, but the last hour, probably 2/3 of the characters show up. Then the hunt happens. Everyone all local. However, after the hunt, everyone exits that local at virtually the same time. Everyone experiences sees the world go through massive rendering lag, chat lag, menu lag. We were having delayed chat of up to 2 minutes. I had alts in my knarr that were 2 minutes behind on their rendering. They appeared to be an entire map grid behind my captain alt. As characters gradually dispersed, the lag decreased, rendering sped up and alts rejoined the same time line as the captain. Chat returned to normal. As unlikely as this may seem for a request, I'd suggest any public dragon hunts on NFI be coordinated with Wurm devs, and just maybe they can allocate additional cores/ram temporarily for the event? I assume wurm is running on a virtual server architecture of some kind, which could easily manage it. You won't need as many cores on the two servers that don't have the hunt, right?

I dunno if this causes lag (wink)
  19. Ok, I did not realize this was the same for all unlocks. Something I just never have the need for in my play style. Only thing I ever lock is my LMCs, so I can start doling out permissions. Yes, I can see how an extra step is good to prevent an accidental unlock. I constantly misclick menu items from menu lag. YES, please just either reverse the text to "Unlock -Bee Hive" or make it part of permissions. I kept looking in permissions as that is where I expected it.
  20. As someone who buys a lot of premium time (way too many alts), I love the extra perk of all the marks I get. However, I certainly feel buying silver is a bit of a let down, based on the paltry amount of marks awarded, for roughly a similar financial investment. However, it seems to me there was some reason for this, that was discussed when Marks were introduced, but I don't have the patience to go hunt it down right now. Whatever comes of this thread, just don't take away my windfall of marks that I'm expecting towards the end of this year, as all my subs are coming due and I need another 10 or so LMCs
  21. Maybe it was just really late at night, but it took me far too long to figure out where the "unlock" was for my beehive, so I could load it. My suggestion is simply to replace "Bee hive" with "Unlock" and not have a 1 item sub menu.
  22. It is yet another mechanic that leaves random altars scattered throughout Wurm. I suppose I would not mind it much if we could just load altars.
  23. It sure would be great. Many times on a big surface mining cliff job I've made a slip and mined 1 down more than I wanted. Happens from lag spikes, disconnects or yes, I get distracted too. To have absolutely no way to repair these mistakes... well, what is the point? So yes, please consider upping that slope considerably. Why not set it for 3x mining skill? That would seem like a great compromise. Thank you for being open to changing this
