/ignore isn't a solution to me. I don't personally dislike or hate these people. I just don't want to see 24 ad's from them in an hour. (yup that happened from 1 person.) I am trying to help lay a foundation for this, I would think some staff would be more open to players trying to make their moderation lives easier. Especially if we can get the smexy people to make it an actual game mechanic where you don't have to babysit.

I honestly feel there should be a game mechanic between the time between ad's. 15-25 min (comment if you want on this of course.) Trade channel is rather handy. Most people are considerate of the channel and it's purpose. However there are some that spam and I have seen CM's try to enforce a 20 minute rule which is great. What staff can not control however is a different type of "spam" becoming known as "the wall of text". The wall of text is essentially a player posting multiple ad's in quick succession. Upwards of 4 and 5 or more ad's of various things by the same person. It's become something of a joke but it is also starting to annoy people. The problem with this is it bumps other people's ad's out of the way legit or not. It is also unnecessary, we have very well used forums that are quite effective for sales of multiple items and of course merchants. And with the typing space allowed in 1 or 2 ad's you can easily mention variety. I'm not looking to point fingers or ruin anyone's fun but it's getting a bit much. On the advice of an unnamed CM it was suggested that this post be made so that if others are annoyed they may comment for the staff to take a look into this and maybe make some sort of rule. A simple +1 or suggested number would be helpful for staff to review. We don't need to name names or be nasty about it. +1 and 2 ad's in succession is my opinion.

I remember being back on JK home, I was still quite new at the time, few months old maybe...I had met a lot of amazing people, FatherTime, Uzetaab, Wulfgar, Lex, Zerobyte and a whole slew of others (Several had just received their Cm positions). I've played a lot of games in my 20 years, but I'd never been on a game where the staff, paid or not was involved with every day players like me or even staff who played the game. It was so freakin' cool to me to see staff as players too! Lex told me that the GM's and even Head GM Oracle were very involved with players and are players. I was further amazed as most games I had played had GM's...or so they claimed. You never saw or heard from even when reporting someone or something. Played Tibia since I was 19, I still have never seen a GM there. I was on a happy-playing-a-new-game-where-people-are- friendly-to-nublets high and a great deal of coffee with a dash of bipolar, I was immensely HYPER. And Lex told me while we were chatting jokingly that Oracle had tights and a cape and was like a superhero...Zero jokingly confirmed this... Being the hyper idiot I was (and still have days) I pm'ed Oracle and that poor man had to deal with me for over 35 minutes. I wanted to know if he had boxers or briefs with his initial like Superman, did he dry clean his cape, was he friends with Santa or the Easter bunny...Did he know other super hero's also and ON AND ON I went. Complete hyper idiot mode, worse, it wasn't the only time either. When I heard about this thread, I instantly thought about that first pm convo and smiled. No matter how ridiculous I was with that poor man, he was patient, lol'ed a lot and even humored me by playing along a bit. I'm sure he had a hundred other things to do then listen to my foolishness, but he was gracious. I remember another time I had recently returned to the game and while looking for a place to set up, I passed by his deed, he was on and welcomed me back. Asked if I needed anything and ending up offering to imp my armour for me. Been avoiding this thread, didn't want to dwell on such a kind and gracious man leaving the world, not too many left. Remove the number count on mailing that was asking for so many times. Make a poll? Work on the memory leak that has been around 1 week to 4 years. (That should cover trolls arguing how long it's been around) Fix the volume on cotton. Some makes sense, but it's also squishy, should be toned down. Take one of the suggestions from the last 10 years about making cooking interesting, so many interesting and useless ingredients. Start new players off with a 10ql pelt. Or 1ql or 5ql, try being new with no ability to kill and you need a pelt to polish the chisel to make the bricks you need for the forage you need to melt the iron...to eventually make a weapon that does SOMETHING... (get the idea, it's a pita.) Do something with new player newbie weapon and shield. Either remove it or fix it, it's extremely discouraging to new players that think their weapon and shield will actually help them. Don't believe me, make a poll? Use the poll option, was a great idea that is poorly used. Ask the awesome art team (not sarcasm) to re-work character graphics, SPECIFICALLY the face/hair. They have done wonders over the years but character faces/hair are fuggly and limited. Ethnic coloring would also be nice. Some new crops would be nice, people love variety. Saddle bags in both cloth (smaller weight allowance) and leather (larger weight allowance) for Lw'ers and Ct's. (This has endlessly been asked for and never implemented) Create a recipe for ceramic pottery (Decor) with 3-5 pre-determined designs to give pottery some new love. Give each priest a new spell that allows SPECIFICALLY jewlery to be cast on..rings, bracelets, necklaces. Just throwing out some example so you know what I mean, don't have a cow.. "Swift" (insert some Rolf-like formula here) gives the wearer a tiny speed boost while wearing it. "Stamina of Elite" (insert Rolf formula here) Slight decrease to stamina use "Water of the God's" (see above) Thirst drops slower for the wearer. I'm sure other players will have better ideas of what would work for this but a new spell for each priest would again offer new variety. Giving jewelry smiths a reason to craft again and improving the purpose of jewelry wouldn't hurt. Some skills in Wurm have been relatively unimportant, such as pottery, the common player makes a jar or 2 for water, a bowl and never needs it again. Decor has been very important in 'renewing' some skills like fine carp but other skills still suffer in "not important" oblivion. And some items, like jewelry have 1 use, I don't need no locate on Xanadu. :/ or Deli, or Indy.. New mob's of all skill level. I'm SURE players would love a contest to create new creatures. New flora, camilla and grapes and roses only go so far after 11 years...I'm sure once again players would love a contest, juniper and boxwood would be a really nice start and quite suited to Wurm's look. And I couldn't love Nappy's suggestion about less servers anymore. Far too many servers, even if the player base was 2000 it's ridiculous. yes some player's might freak out but "greater good".
