  1. That's already in the works, will arrange to have more information in either this weeks or next weeks news. There's a lot of catching up we need to do here, we're in the process of finishing up updates which have been in the works for over a year now, so we need to push those out before getting to a place where we can take on other large projects. Fixing bugs helps us reach a point where we can begin to make large changes on a stable and working foundation. A transfer or merge is not going to happen, it solves nothing, and would bring a spike in population before dropping again. Any announcement is going to come with a lot of questions, and we're going to want to be able to answer as many as we can right off the bat, which is why it takes time, I don't want to say "oh we're doing x and y" without having followup information and a solid plan to work from. I understand there's frustration but I have always stated that it will take time.
  2. Details will be shared when we've finalised enough plans, I'm working with the devs to get as much information as possible for you all.
  3. Not at this point, and that's an interesting idea, but likely not possible to do
  4. Current plan is for 1.3 to have some much needed improvements to the Valrei system as well as addressing several bugs and strange differences between Freedom and Epic. There is more planned but currently not enough is detailed in order to share them as they're highly subject to change, and we'd rather wait until plans are more solid before sharing them.
  5. Can you please post your console log so we can check the settings and your system?
  6. It doesn't, you might have to check your settings, as the new client renderer includes different ones.
  7. That would be why it doesn't work. Use of third party programs such as reshader are not allowed within the game. Please make sure it is FULLY removed before playing. We are currently working on a new unstable client renderer with improved graphics like reshader offers.. If you wish to use that, you can find it at http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient_unstable.jnlp
  8. Flower planters already exist...
  9. HI Elsa, Double bulk storage capacity is in this pack ql sorting mod is here
  10. not true, but unfinished models are intended to be different to the finished models in most cases.
  11. Just to clarify. All feedback is passed on to the developer team, this includes hidden posts. At this point we're coming full circle, the exploit has been fixed, this has affected shield skill tactics. This won't be reverted, instead we will have an improved system coming with the 1.3 update in November. I'm locking this thread as there's no point to allow it to continue.
  12. Could be interesting if the split option broke it up into minimum unites (1kgs for most metal lumps, 20kgs for rocks, and so on)
  13. We're going to have to start sweeping Tich's place for listening devices....
  14. I'm fairly sure that that change is currently on the beta, switch to the live version to avoid it for now and I'll speak with the dev team about it.
  15. As has been stated before: It was not explicitly removed, it was removed as a side effect of addressing an exploit being abused by players. 1.3 wiill come with an improved shield skill gain system that will work much better. Again, afk shield grinding was not a desired mechanic, it was a symptom of shield skill being pretty difficult to grind, so instead of just bringing back a bad mechanic, our focus is on improving the base mechanics to make it easier to raise through active gameplay.
  16. gardening And most likely the latter, in a world where we shape glowing hot metal by mashing it with our hands, paprika is its own plant
  17. It's already been stated a few places, but I'll add here: The "nerf" came from addressing an exploit, which is better done sooner than later while we work on improving shield skill gains. We're in the process of working with a system promoting actually fighting to gain skill instead of relying on creatures in pens. This means that you will not be able to shield train for hours on a single creature, but skillgain will be designed to flow much easier.
  18. Fairyshine's Pink Palace (Party goats?) Hi Everyone! This week marks what will be most likely the final server update prior to the release of 1.3, (with the exception of a hotfix or two) as the dev team shifts focus on ensuring all features in 1.3 come out smoothly, so a few patch notes then on with the news! Herb gardens! Of course, cooking just isn't the same without all sorts of herbs and spices, and a long requested feature is the herb garden, so this week we'll be looking at those. The following is an excerpt by Pandalet, with information on spices (Thanks Pandalet for the hard work!) All herbs and spices may be found by foraging or botanizing. In addition, some may be planted in a pottery planter to create a harvest-able bush. Herb bushes planted in planters will die over time, although regular harvesting will make them last longer. Some potted herbs The following herbs are available: The following spices are available: As you can see, there's a lot more ingredients to play with, and brings a whole new area to gardening! All abuzz A few have been asking about domestic or wild hives, and commenting that they'd like to have domestic bees. This is possible, and will be a part of the 1.3 update, I'll sit down with Tich this week and get all the low down on the rumours buzzing around (okay okay I'll stop the puns). New Test Servers As previously mentioned, we'll be updating our test servers for this new system, so I'm pleased to announce the names of the test servers, Baphomet and Oracle! We're in the process of having them set up by our dev team, then will ensure everything runs smoothly before opening them to players for testing the cooking features and other parts of the 1.3 update! This weeks community content comes from a massive Wurm Unlimited project on KangaWU, with a network of bridges spanning a whopping 231 tiles, or 11% of the map! Why would anyone build such a massive bridge system? Unicorns of course! That's it for this week, I'll continue to work on bringing you all the sneak peeks and insight into what's coming with 1.3, and make sure you're as prepared with knowledge and excitement as possible! Until then though, keep on Wurming! Retrograde & the Wurm team.
  19. that is perfectly fine. This was instances in which you would NEVER be hit, or NEVER strike back.
  20. The "fix" came from addressing an exploit, which is better done sooner than later while we work on improving shield skill gains..
  21. Yeah, uh, i dont think fighting chickens is the ideal way to gain shield skills, we'll be improving hunting gains though.
  22. We're in the process of working with a system similar to this, we will be spending time testing it prior to release to ensure that it's more dynamic and faster to gain, promoting actually fighting to gain skill instead of relying on creatures in pens.
  23. As has already been stated, with this change coming in it allows us to address and improve shield skillgain mechanics. This means that you will not be able to shield train for hours on a single creature, but skillgain will be designed to flow much easier. Sometimes changes come in for various reasons, in this case it was to patch an exploitative mechanic and the abusers of those exploits have been handled as well. It's clear to us that while the shield skill grinding mechanics have been incredibly broken , grinding it needs attention and could be much more dynamic, which is what we will be looking at and most likely including in the 1.3 update if not sooner. Stay tuned for details on that in future news.
