  1. No, prayer skill is still MUCH easier than it was before the patches. Before the patches it was incredibly difficult and took a LOT of time. Now it takes much less time, just a little longer than the first patch did though.

That's due to faith lowering the difficulty on Freedom, whereas any successful action got a tick on epic, you had to get a tick in the 1-40 range on freedom, almost no difficulty = almost no ticks. Comparing intended mechanics vs unintended ways to abuse a mechanic is not the best way to go about it.
  3. We've spent a bit of time following the prayer skill progress, and while the changes are a step in the right direction, we feel they are too big of a step. As such, we will be doing a short patch in which we will be adjusting it slightly, making skillgain a little slower to ensure it doesn't become trivial but still remains significantly faster than as it was before. Faith will still be a huge bonus for skillgain, and even sub-optimal skillgain will be faster than optimal skillgain was before any changes were made. at 100 faith, the original skillgain action time to get to 70 prayer was roughly 70 hours, with the new system it became around 20% of that. With this change it will become roughly 32%, meaning a significant improvement still. This change is with short notice, not to avoid a rush on prayer skilling, but mostly to ensure our numbers and testing felt right before releasing the patch.

  9. No, this won't be a hotfix unless it's to disable rifts at this point. Without knowing the underlying cause there's nothing TO hotfix.
  10. Issue is known, cause is not. We do share information when we encounter things that are more than just "oh yeah too much going on at once" but will always like to share what we can.

The first two are tasks that would take an extremely significant amount of time to do in which the entire base code is rewritten, and a new engine completely rebuilt, and offer little to address the issues regarding server lag. We will update this when necessary, or when we have information, but quite often it just winds up as bug fixes or lag fixes.
  12. The first two options have no bearing on the issue. As for the lag, we are aware of it and will be investigating the root cause of the issue, and see if there's anywhere we can directly improve before jumping to major changes to the system.

I understand that some feel their hard work grinding payer under the current circumstances is now lesser in value, but I'm sure we can all agree it was an extreme amount of time spent just for hitting 70. Making this aspect less of a bottleneck allows priests to focus on more priest activities and being more productive. Unless they shatter everything
  15. We would rather ensure that the approach is balanced regardless of when the change is made, just because people in the past had things harder doesn't mean we shouldn't look at improving things in the future.

  17. Greetings Wurmians! Well we're into 2021 now, and kicking off with the first Valrei International of the year! Our focus is on next weeks upcoming update, as well as touching on the combat rework that will be entering public testing shortly. Next update The next update will be out on Thursday, the 28th of Jan. It will include a range of bug fixes and more tweaks to the UI based on feedback, along with the prayer skill gain rework. Pray for gains As per a previous suggestion to modify how prayer skillgain works: We took the time to look at prayer skillgain as a whole, and have made several changes in order to improve tick frequency and allow for more optimum skillgain. Previous skillgain being slow was a problem of the difficulty being lower at higher skills, so we've made the following changes: Altar quality is no longer a factor in skill gain. Higher Faith increases the chance of gaining Prayer skill. Prayer actions resulting in skill will give more skill than before. A higher percentage of prayer actions will result in Prayer skill gain, especially at higher skill levels (Note that this change only affects skill gain, The likelihood or quality of other events from prayer, such as receiving gems and gaining Faith, have not been altered.) These changes should lead to improved skill gain and less bothering your gods! Mortal Combat! The combat work is still underway, and our plan is to sit down on test with it for some time before it goes live. We'll be opening public testing for that soon, and work with feedback with the intention of it going live at the end of Feb update. CistaCista, host of the PureBreds H held another regatta last weekend, with the Corbita races! The wind did not turn up sadly, but the event was quite enjoyed by all who attended!   19. Updates include patch notes, this was just a minor client change to display the monthly skin correctly. If there is no notes, it means no bugs were fixed!
  20. We've looked into these issues and they do lie outside our network, as well as our hosts network. This means its unfortunately out of our hands. The hosts will be continuing to work on identifying and resolving it on their level. Hopefully this does not last long, and we will of course continue to assist our hosts should they need anything from us.

  23. Exactly, which is a pain point we've been aware of in regards to the newer servers, thus we're working on this tool.
  24. This is just deed density. Nothing to do with active players, logged in players or alts. The goal is to give an indication on where new players can go if they do want to find free land, as "all the land is taken" is a common misconception
