  1. I'd say more of an expansion than a DLC. Then they can release WO update batches as expansions on WU, if it's hard for them justifying keeping WU up to date.

I'd like to see that part of Wurm get updated to the WO state.

Side benefit - maybe some mods can be brought in as updates to the main game.

I strongly suspect that among Wurm players, there are more over 60 (certainly over 50) than under 20.

    I noticed this also.

I wouldn't target mental health or elderly, care homes in particular. That would look a bit strange to me. What I'd do is change a bit how the game is showcased on the page. I like that in the trailer they show those vast landscapes, woodlands, etc., but in the features area big parts of the game are left out - travel and exploration, RvR (I can't believe they still call it PvP like it's some random PK game), animal husbandry (you have no idea how many people like doing only this in games). It just lists some skills, that other games have as well. Lastly how it's all seamlessly connected.

Whether or not this game has any benefit for mental health I can't say. It kind of gives a sense of enjoyment in doing even trivial stuff. I find the same in Mortal Online also. The landscape, the immersion or maybe the fact that everything you do matters in some project. There is also the lack of pressure to get the latest gear, the latest raid etc. The fact that the interaction with the game seems more natural and it's not a bloat of screens, currencies, separate disjoint systems etc.

There was a thread about this somewhere but can't remember atm.

  3. You need projects. I have a whole pile of them, I hardly ever notice updates. Forget about the updates.

If you really want to play Wurm- as you intimated in your post- then may I suggest that you do have Wurm in your DNA and put simply I feel that you would regret walking away.

Many years ago I thought I'd walk away. But then I decided I'll just continue keeping my account, my stuff etc. And play when I feel like it. Sometimes I played a lot, other times I log once a week.

  4. For people concerned about abuse/griefing etc. I've been playing games with VoIP and it doesn't occur that often. It can also be reported just like any other medium, you probably just need a video as proof.

I wouldn't really like VoIP as it can be immersion breaking at times. But this is in other games where you find many players in towns, PoIs. In Wurm it might actually be nice. Could also be used for some nice pranks. If it's any considerable effort not worth it tho.

I have a skin idea! Can I submit it somehow?

Create a suggestion or let us know on Discord! The new uncovered wagon skin was requested multiple times in the past for example, on forum and on Discord.

Guys please remove this you're gonna get nothing but trouble out of it. I mean both the item and this paragraph.

Instead, we are currently planning a general (non-merge) solution for character transfers between clusters, including PvE and PvP. We will soon inform you about our plans in detail, as this will require some public discussion in advance.

Hope this means 2 way transfers so we can play for a while on Epic then back to freedom with the earned skills then back to Epic etc. And not jus 1 way like it was in the past.

Those merge ideas are nonsense. The true way the game was meant to be played was Epic. Playing on Freedom gives me the feeling I am missing that RvR aspect. But tossing everyone into a single island like Chaos is too hardcore. Then again I'd hate to see Chaos go, lots of history there. And then there's the NFI PvP how do you merge with that without merging the clusters themselves?

    10 minutes ago, Madnath said:

In what reality is a merge of PvP servers a bandaid solution? The playerbase is split HEAVILY and this isn't fixed by creating transfers.

It's not even a bandaid because it's just like Ele reset or Affliction reset. Basically resetting people's bases/items/etc and dropping them in some new and foreign land and hoping they will stick around and even attract others as well. Doesn't work in Wurm. People get attached to their homelands you know.

They would just loose the players playing on whatever pvp island they are playing.

  7. I think what you are asking for is simply more meaning to those items other than simply new skins. Like instead of having a skin for the jewelry box, require 90 fine carpentry to create and maybe some fancier materials. And like the uncovered wagon should honestly be just an option to uncover it.

Would like to see this shift as well.

But this is not QoL. QoL is like when they added those combat texts on screen, so instead of having to check the combat log you see it directly in front of you. Like when they added the crafting window - instead of rmb > continue building each time you just add the tool, the target and press the button! Or even something as simple as when they added a key for activating items in inventory. (correct me if I'm wrong tho)

There is a lot more to do in the game. If you don't like to grind, you might be more interested in faster-paced servers (Epic cluster). If you are running out of things to do, you might want to check out a PvP server, as more game mechanics are enabled there.

There is way more to do than grind, terraform, build. Exploring is a great alternative. Now that I think of I done way more exploring than skills, building or terraforming.

The grind itself now: the game offers you many alternatives to just straight forward grinding something. There is even an alternative to repairing off deed structures with no effort, but I'm not going to spoil it here.

If you can buy game-impacting items for real money, it is never good for the gameplay, as for example gamemechanics most likely get tuned /designed for it. Like this mindnumbing, disrespectful skill-grind.

You can literally buy everything. Since you buy in-game currency and with it you buy items from players. But honestly it's not what it seems like to a lot of people. I don't know, the game just doesn't feel p2w, even though it sounds like it. Maybe it's because the end goal is so vague and everyone has their own projects etc. Dunno...

Just so you know OSRS and EVE also allow people to buy in-game currency by selling subs. You can bypass A LOT of work in OSRS, while living your newbie days in gold-trimmed iron armor.

The mere existence of such shop alone repells certainly a good number of potential players. And it's one of the reasons why i will get repelled once more. ..and the grind.

The cash shop itself is not very intrusive. It's hidden between some other menus with nothing outstanding to point to it. When you open the cash shop most of those items are the items you would get off traders before, plus some skins. And you get them with in-game currency that can be both bought or traded for (correct me if I'm wrong about this last bit).

If anyone gets repelled about that that rules out most MMORPGs and a lot of other games for them, not gonna lie.

  9. It's a different philosophy. That's why they have a single character - you can raise all skills. But to speed things up you will have to rely on other players for trade. It brings immersion to the game.

OSRS has the same approach but as with Wurm you can do all skills. Mortal Online 2 has the same approach, however characters are specialized - basically a skill system like Wurm's but you can only have a few of those skills leveled at the same time. And starting 28th Nov it will be around 15eur a month. Some people have multiple accounts, sure. But a great number of people enjoy it with a single account, immersive mode.

  10. Don't really see the whole issue with it. The game has a cheap sub to begin with. WoW subs are about double of Wurm subs. You might say it has plenty of content released etc., but then again it has waaaaay more subscribers. Way more. This is a niche game. It has very few subscribers. Still even as it is it doesn't clutter the game with a clowny cash shop and flashy nonsense.

And about those hours... I think that's based on feedback from last year. Because it said "Friday to Sunday" or something like that, but the end of Sunday is different across the globe, so some people who tried getting the offer in the last few hours were surprised it wasn't available anymore :) .

  11. Instead of making the Wurm Store available everywhere, how about making the game more immersive and getting the players to go to an NPC in the starter towns. Like the trader.

You guys already did a good job by making Wurm Store use silver coins (I hate all those alternate currencies in some games), this step would set you apart even more.

  12. I don't even reroll my characters in MO. So much hard work to just erase...

Just give all your stuff to friends. Or better yet, you don't have to play all day. Keep the accounts and log on only now and then when you can/feel like it. I took a 5 month break once, then came back and took back the ruins of my household. Then wanted to quit the game again, but changed my mind, asked my friend for all my boats and buildings back, and simply played when I can. Can't say I was non-stop addicted tho, just can't let the game go. It's like part of my life, even though for some time I don't log on that very often and my projects are a bit on hold.

i wait patiently for 1 week before seeking my rights through a governing body.
    Data protection rights are global.

Speak to someone who knows this stuff. It isn't that easy. What you say here is very ambiguous. In my country, and I am sure many other countries, a lot of court cases get dismissed. If you already sent a letter I guess it's only a matter of them confirming you are the owner of that account and they can remove it. I guess...

  13. Will ya stop being so scroogey - 30 days vs 29 days loool. I've been paying 45 eur per year for this absolute pinnacle of MMORPGs (no irony here), for a couple years. I play this other game Mortal Online - GMs transferring keeps during sieges to please griefer/ganker guilds, and they want 15 eur per month sub.

This game is as cheap as it gets, even without black friday. But I need my phat deals maaaan. It's 20 Nov, and still nothing.

This and OSRS. Both have sub-market sub price, and above market gameplay/player experience.

So, ignoring all the permissions my character decided to scratch their name on an item. Whoops.

I did this to a friend. Another friend also did this to me.

I realize that nametags probably weren't meant to be that big of a deal but they kinda are. While I prefer to have other people's names on my stuff as a reminder who gifted/sold/lost the item this is not the case for a lot of players.

Yes.   The name of the maker should ALWAYS be the name of the maker.

In the end maybe we shouldn't even be able to scratch a name on something. Even with a dedicated separate command.

It does make for some amusing situations/pranks, so I dunno.

  15. Come on guys, WW3, end of world, apocalypse et cetera, is coming. Give us a phat deal to stockpile on Wurm premium time and silver.

Was expecting it today being Sunday, but I guess I could wait 1 or 2 days more.
