  1. Opinions are like belly buttons. Everyone has one. ;D BTW, good work on the cave. Looks like a carpel tunnel.
  2. Can already get from Shrieking Eel to the north sea through Lake Serpentine and Lake Olive then Bigtoe Isthmus. Can be done by any ship as far as I know. Been that way for some time now.
  3. The Desert

I think spawn rates are fine. The problem comes when it takes less than ten seconds to kill a champ anything from a horse or a wagon. Or on foot for that matter. A champ should be very very hard to kill and it should deal deadly blows every time. Why else would it be a champ?
  4. The Desert

You are right about that. There's at least one deed with only a guard and nothing has been done at all. Been there awhile too. But since it's paid for and helping keep the servers open as much as any other deed the same size there isn't much you can do about it. Can't really figure out the idea behind it though.
  5. The Desert

This is too funny. I see these guys run around the desert on wagons killing champion mobs in less than ten seconds. And then they complain about how some npc is killing mobs. It takes the npc twenty times longer than it takes them on their wagons. Do two things. First get off the wagon. Second ask for harder mobs. Oh wait. Then they might kill you. Don't want that, do we? I've seen the desert littered with hundreds of dead mobs. Not around deeds, just all over the desert. Maybe the problem isn't deed guards but easy mobs and people running around on horses and wagons having too easy a time of killing them. You should have to fight them on foot. But then people will cry about that too. BTW, lots of deeds have guards. Why are you crying about just the desert? Oh yeah, cuz it's easy to see the mobs. It's all about easy isn't it? That's the real issue.
  6. Chaos suggestion

The issue that arises is then you end up with a low population server because very few want to live there full time. Following your example, Concord space would be freedom. Most people live in Concord space, and only travel to 0.0 for specific reasons, but they don't stay. We need people to live on Chaos, not just visit it on occasion for a specific reason. If the server cant support a population, then the server is shut down because its using system resources that are better spent elsewhere. Servers cost money, and most companies can't afford to have a server sitting around empty. Chaos is too large of a server to just let it sit empty and running. So we need a PvP solution that will encourage people to come to Chaos, and stay. Continuing your example, the HotA in the middle of Chaos would be attributable to 0.0 space, as it currently is FFA PvP. You don't see people camping out in the HotA area waiting for someone to wander in. In fact, just about the only reason people go into the HotA area is for the HotA itself. We don't want Chaos to turn into another HotA area, people only coming here for a reason, and only for a short duration. Yes, well Chaos is at the place you point out. Too low of a population to support the server. It didn't seem that the old Wild was doing much better. And if you want to talk money it would seem that if money is the lone criteria then Freedom type servers would be the most profitable course. I have to wonder if a server the size of Chaos would ever be a good idea for pvp. BTW, a very large number of people are perma 0.0 residents.
  7. Chaos suggestion

If you want to see a game with FFA PVP play EVE. I'm sure many of you do already. In 0.0 space it is a free for all. You can kill someone because you want to. No reasons. No penalties. No remorse. If you go there you expect and accept it. What makes a free for all work in EVE is the simple fact anyone can do it and leave it any time they want without any special rules or restrictions. Travel between FFA PVP and nice safe Concord space is simple and easy. It's that connection between the two that makes the whole thing work. I don't see why that wouldn't work in WURM.
  8. So now all of a sudden the area I live in becomes something else and the real life money I spent for a deed could potentially be down the toilet. Not something I care to think about. Maybe people with large amounts of disposable income can afford that, some of us can't.
  9. Chaos suggestion

Something like that would be better served on a smaller server. One as large as chaos and you could very well have a problem finding anyone to fight. And having a free for all pvp server would be so you could fight each other right? So why have a huge server where you can't find anyone? Logic should tell you a smaller server would work best since the point of a pvp server would be to fight other players. But then if you REALLY didn't want a free for all server but just wanted to pound your chest and make noises and have a nice chat room Chaos would work well for that. If I were serious about a free for all pvp server it would be something like one of the smaller epic servers with no water at all, no large mountains and wells dotted about the land. Small enough to find each other but large enough that it might be an hour or two work to do so. It wouldn't be highly populated because there are not all that many pvp people in WURM compared to those who simply want a sand box. I would provide portals so people could freely pop in and out between non pvp and pvp with a time penalty between trips.
  10. Birch look great. Olive trees are by nature strange looking things. Maybe a little more silver in the olive tree foliage.
  11. +1 with the boats. Some see it, some don't.
  12. Facesofmu. Magic without religion is like an automobile without gas. It just doesn't happen. I like the more science less magic idea. Bravo.
  13. Stars of differing magnitudes. I know that they differ a little. But not enough to easily recongnize constellations. They need to differ by several orders of magnitude. Also, a central band similar to the Milky Way would be good. Maybe a few somewhat faint nebula. All this could be tied into 'birthdates' and affinities. Not anything that affects the game but through lore. Shouldn't be too hard since it would be making something that already exists a bit brighter or dimmer.
  14. Seems to me making a building is too simple. What needs to be done is material gathering for the roof. Harvesting grass for that would be good. Maybe have a thatched roof of grass or a better roof made of wood shingles. And a best roof made of clay/pottery type shingles or slate shingles made from rock shards. And then we could also use the grass as feed for animals so they don't need to eat grass tiles. That would provide a whole new line of things to make for feeding animals.
