  1. Technology is always advancing and so are programming languages, so that must mean that at some point in the near future, Wurm will be virtually entirely lag free, even with 50 people in local in a megadeed.
  2. Yes, instantly - this should already be the case! Even then, 0.01 would be a heavy page, but it would still be a lot better. +1000 And furthermore, as for books, they have been wanted for a very long time now, hopefully the new bookcases set the scene for books and more depth with papyrusmaking and writing.
  3. Some of these rooms are really good, however I doubt they will choose any that has multiple bookcases lined up, as the books inside each and every bookcase are in the same position. Many of these rooms/buildings look very inviting, I hope in time they will give us even more reasons to spend more time in them (sitting and writing perhaps?).
  4. A major issue in all of Wurm, bot in Epic and Freedom is the fact that there are always people that want building materials, and there are always people that want to make or collect these materials for silver. The problem is that Wurm, overall, is big - communication between commissioners and work-seekers is fraught with annoying complications. For example, someone may be looking for thousands of bricks and be willing to pay. All of the day they are offline, there are newbies looking to make bricks for money, but they just aren't on at the same time. And even then, when they do happen to be on at the same time, the travel time is massively off-putting for both parties as one side may have to leave at any point, which means that there will be no trade. Furthermore, even after someone has been commissioned, there is no telling how long they will take, whether the comissioner will even be about when the work is completed, or whether the worker can be bothered to wait for the commissioner to return. And even then, giving instructions to newbies (the most likely to be commissioned) is often a nightmare and regularly leads to either party simply giving up, compounded massively by the fact there is no good commission or contract system in place. I have seen, constantly, people ask for materials, and people ask for work. The two very rarely meet even though they should, due to the numerous complications of what should be a straightforward matter, which makes this a regularly occurring lose-lose situation. In fact, this is a lose-lose-lose situation, as.not only do both parties lose out, Wurm itself loses out on a massive source of players, player population at any given time and also progress of deeds, characters, and Wurm life in general. When we overcome this constant and significant issue in Wurm, there will be much more incentive to stay for newbies, much more incentive to play more often for everyone, and much more progress made construction-wise, which gives commissioners much needed time to advance in other ways, giving their time-burning jobs to those that need and want them, those that are more than willing to do so. The population would have perfect reason to rise as players work for premium and silver they really want, that with which without they would have more reason to quit early, before they get absorbed. And all of these benefits would boost one another, players attracting players, workers attracting development, development attracting more strength as a community, community attracting players and so on. The energy created would make Wurm much more lively and more Wurmians can be inspired to reach new heights. So, a commission system would be fantastic. This could take the form of deposit boxes on deed, that, when the commissioned player brings the contractually agreed amount of materials to the deposit box, the materials are dropped inside - the spirit templars pay the commissioned player the decided amount. If there is no contract, the templars prevent any materials from going in, and anyone without permission trying to take the materials out. On Epic and Chaos, to fit in with their style of playing, these would need to be pickable and able to steal, just like chests and so on (of course, with the usual repercussions). On non-PvP servers these would of course fit in with non-PvP rules. No silver would be able to leave the deed without having been agreed by both parties in the contract (unless the token is drained as usual on PvP servers). These contracts can be written by the commissoners and given or mailed to the commissioned player, outlining the amount of materials needed, the money that will be given in return and the time alloted (if applicable), as well as perhaps a written location and extra notes by the commissioner. Also, there can be open contracts, advertised on the forums as well as in Wurm global chats and so on, where if anyone brings the commissioned materials, they get the money. For example, player A wants 2000 rope and makes an open contract. They can choose whether to require it all in one or whether they will accept it in parts - so if the contract is for 2000 rope, someone can bring 500 rope and get 25% of the silver alloted, and the open contract is now for 1500 rope. These could be advertised also on boards in starter deeds, on main roads and the like, so that players can always have up-to-date information, and aren't late, say by believing there is still 2000 required when someone has just filled half of that order. As these deposit boxes would need to be on deed, commissioners would perhaps prefer to create a small area that is on deed but seperate and outside of the main deed area, which would have the benefit of allowing players to have a small protected work area if need be. Alternatively, there could be buildings made similar to stone or wooden houses that act as a medium, with a deposit box, allowing materials inside the walls of the deed (but not players), and perhaps even a counter-gap through which the templars give the depositors the silver (if they can't carry silver through walls). With contracts being advertised on the forums, all players will have full assurance of materials, work, and silver - a massive incentive for new players to stay and be absorbed, and for the population to advance. What do you say?
  5. Wurm rules and so does Haradur. All the people that just cry and stomp their feet every single news update are lame! But inevitable. I hope Rolf is giving Haradur a foot massage right now as he codes away - that's gotta boost productivity.
  6. Embark as driver Embark as passenger
  7. Congrats! I would save that for a collection, saccing it or using it is just out of the question. If you sell it, I hope that it's to someone with staying power, so it will still be around in years to come.
  8. +1 because it would bring more commerce - many people will want to buy an account for sale with great skills and so on but don't want to play as 'Toohotforyou' or 'Skullsmasher' which they feel gives people a wrong impression of them, by being able to change their character name they can feel that character is them, instead of playing as somebody else.
  9. This happened to me when I first tried to play Wurm, I solved it by getting Java 6 (the earlier version).
  10. I like the Fo colossus, but yeah - if the descriptions say that it shouldn't look like the avatar, something should be changed to make it make more sense.
  11. Wishes

I'd wish for a fantastic glimmersteel longsword. Wishing for certain updates such as building on cave floors and dyeing clothes won't make a difference, as these things are either planned or not - throwing s and g down the wishing well won't speed them up - but wishing for an item might work (hopefully).
  12. I would love to see it but it will never ever happen, and if it does, it will be in 10 years as an absolute bare minimum (on whichever console it is around that time, the 7box 9000 or whatever it will be called).
  13. That's cool, I'm MR on Epic and it's cool that MR actually have that much land somewhere in Wurm, I thought Chaos was the same as Epic in that JK always had much more land (and people, and buildings, and items, and pets, and levels, and so on and so on).
  14. If your pet kills a creature without you hitting it even once, do you get the exp for the kill? If not, can you hit it once and get the exp if your pet does the other 95% of the damage?
  15. Legit or not?

It would be good if you joined us on epic where we can band together to fight against such crap with catapults, mauls, swords and whatever else you would like.
  16. Welcome back and hope you join us in Epic someday soon.
  17. +1 to walking on boats -1 to guns/bombs
  18. You should be able to build on the enemy's home servers.
  19. I prefer the coins as they are, people can and do be offensive in chat - but you can't just stop people swearing altogether, whether that be on a coin or not. It doesn't bother me to see offensive coin names, you can always change them when you see them. Coin naming should stay in Wurm regardless.
  20. I've just seen that from the right click menu, there is no repair option for woven fences, however using the repair keybind on the woven fences gives you the 'You must not move while doing that.' and 'You stop repairing.' messages when you move away from them.
  21. Five woven fences on deed, none can be repaired - they are all damaged and when I select repair, it queues the actions but there is no action timer and the damage doesn't reduce. If I move, it says 'You must not move while doing that.' as if the action timer was active.
  22. Website updates

They're good, some really nice screenshots - and there's so many more beautiful ones they could add. The server status page makes sense but it should use a different format to the one on the forums.
