Well what and where is this book? nm found it.....turned it off..

Well it has to be replaced......and that's the only way unless you want to give people an online map. Maybe someone will make an auto replace mod where you just click the map and it works... But I had to replace the Freedom,png on my server because that's what comes up when i press map, so you'll have to know which .png it is in there to replace.

Well you need 7zip and then you use it to open the graphics.jar file in the WU launcher/packs folder. C:\Users\********\Desktop\Steam\steamapps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher\packs\ then you look for the graphics.jar and open it, then find the folder gui\testmaps ( maps in there ) then open the map you are seeing in game outside of 7zip. ( you can open and view the maps just by clicking them in the folder. ) which will pop it up in windows viewer, after that you would open it with a paint editor like GIMP or something you can use layers Now you have the map you want to edit you would use the paint brushes to fill over the name and map that's on there so you can replace it. Here is where you would take your custom map and open it with GIMP and then use the color select tool and click on the water that will outline your land mass. then you invert the selection and copy it this copies the land mass. I had to resize the the custom map to 580x580 before i did this so it would fit on the map. Now you go back to your open map you prepared and paste the land mass image you copied and move it where you want. Last you would go to the text area and select a text color you want and size and type in your maps name. what I did was export it to the desktop as a png and then i just dragged it into the open 7zip testmaps folder and replaced it. that worked I for me am sure there is a way to just save it into the 7zip folder after modifying it. It has to export as .png I am sure I could have done a better job.....but I just wanted to get it to work the first time! so basically... 1. open 7zip 2. find the Wurm Launcher packs folder and open it. 3. open graphics.jar file 4. goto gui/testmaps and find the map you see in game. 5. open map with paint program that uses layers. 6. edit map 7. open custom map with paint program in new window. 8. select by color and click water and then invert the selection and copy. 9. paste selection on in game map and merge layers. 10. select color and type in name where you want and merge layers. 11. export finish map as (ingame Name).png 12. save into the gui/testmaps folder with 7zip It should work.....I would save things along the way as well just in case you have to redo the blank map.

In a game with so many tools and so many different type actions....the user is going to have to select and input what they want. They have a simplified window that shows all the actions you can do when you click on something it actually works if you use it.... They could make key binding easier that would help some, but with so many tools and actions it would still lead to...... how do i do this...... what can i use..... what do i do? The simple fact is Wurm is not going to be easy to learn with so many skills and things you can do. No complicated game is...you have to play it to learn it and that takes time.

Wurm is not for your hand it to me type player and never will be the UI won't make a bit of difference what so ever. I actually like having a UI I can resize move around where I want...so many games it's all fixed and can't move a damn thing.

and negative people are more likely to post as well as disgruntled WO player who just bought and refunded the game to make a review the same type we saw spamming the WU steam forums early on because they dont want people to leave WO. 14k sales and still going is not bad at all when you think about it. and getting an 80% plus clip on positive is great. Looking at a lot of reviews you could say 50% couldnt figure out their own computer and blamed it on the game...lol.

Looks like MR couldn't handle making a WU server....so they all "refounded". lmao rocky....! Or they just mad people leaving to make their own game happen....either way comon guys.

Today's Sandbox survival games get to the point where you are bored. This game: you don't get bored. You rage hard, but you play to beat the challenge. Even from initial start point, you are basically under pressure to survive. Granted new servers will have starter areas, but beyond those walls you are at the bottom of the food chain. By Bottom of the Food chain, I mean the fantasy creatures in this game: Large spiders, ugly trolls and hell hounds are always present when you feel safe. You need to beat the odds of even making it to a decent location: Hills, Swamps, Dense forests etc. THIS GAME IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. This game places you in such a bad position, you need to think and act strategically to stay alive. If you do die, you suffer for it: You lose skill points. I recommend this game based on it's challenge and complexity. No other game compares to it. After a bit of getting used to it I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent on it. There are some good guides up to help new people and a wiki if you find yourself at a total loss. If you don't want to play in a world with other people you can make the equivalent of a solo world using the "manage server" option and create your own little slice of peace. The graphics aren't the best in the world, but graphics are by no means the way to define this game. If you enjoy building / crafting games in general, this is likely to be a good title for you. It is so satisfying being able to start with nothing and create your own world. This game you literally live off the land. It is the most rewarding game I have ever owned. The best MMO and the ultimate Survival game. You will be sucked in and fall in love; I will not be able to play anything else off my library now that Wurm is on steam with no subscriptions.... I get on Wurm Unlimited now, and rarely ever see a stranger in the all chat, so I'm pretty much alone with buddies, if they're even on, just making whatever we want. Some of us are taking a grindfilled route, one is just a hippy picking mushrooms all day. It's just a fun game no matter what you do in it, you just have to familiarize yourself with the engine. I made some dye in a barrel using GM create just wondering if its possible to change the color as it basically clear and doesnt paint anything.

I don't know if its not his fault its not his fault....badgering Rolf over and over again isnt going to make it his fault or the games fault. Many times he has bent over backwards with deed and trader refunds and other refunds and updates or changes for some folks..... And what I see here is a crap down someones neck fest because I want to force someone to give me something... It's kind of ironic....to listen too.
