  1. I would take the boat please; great price for a newbie like me. Also 1 or 2 clubs if you take them out of the package.
  2. Thanks for pointing out, I saw that one - is actually a repost from here: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/97282-wts-a-gv-account/ But the CM reaction kinda set me away of that seller / auction.
  3. Hey everyone, I had my fair share of tries on WURM in the past, but it never worked out for me - a bit too much grind (which I don't enjoy), a bit too less focused on surviving, a bit too crowded (and in many cases I suck at getting along with people) and monthly fees for premium and deed maintenance. I love the idea of the game, but would just like a game with less grind, less people, more focus on surviving and no monthly fee. Just that this doesn't exist. Or... well... seems like it exists... GOLDEN VALLEY - the holy grail for me - focused on surviving (without deeds, templars, high ql gears or high skills every day is a challenge), not much to grind (getting to 20 is easy), a hermits world and no monthly fees. Absolutely perfect! Heaven on Earth! A dream come true! So... by any chance anyone selling a Golden Valley char? I'm not rich so I can't offer a fortune, but I'm definitely willing to pay a fair price, whatever we talk about silver coins or euros. Thank you in advance to anyone answering to my post. Cheers, Alexandra

  5. Great job! Really great one; WURM may have a small team and still be an indie game, but for sure your presence there make it looks like a big name, and I'm sure it's a great step into making this a reality. Well done, booth babe! But ... please pic with how the collages ended! I demand that! If not, next time I'll have to fly to Sweeden to see it myself! And you don't want that!
  6. Hello folks, Every time I quit the game (and boy, it was quite a few times) I always sold my old characters, a thing I regret today. But since they never had any high skills and I mostly sold them as "deed holders" in a package where deeds were the main value, I think there is a chance that some of them were not developed too much and might still exist dormant somewhere out there, and their current owners would be willing to sell them back to me at a decent price. So, if you own, or know someone who owns any of the following characters please let me know and see if we can make any arrangements: Characters on the old cluster: - AryaStark - ArryStark - AlexDunphy - Zapacila Characters on the new cluster: - Sweety - Dochia - Kiddoo - Kiddo - Lovefall - Smurfette Thank you in advance for any information you could provide about the status of any of these accounts. I am not decided if I will return to the game or not, but anyway I would like to try to recover any of the chars since all those names mean something special for me. Cheers, Alex
  7. In almost any other game out there you are told what to do and how to do it. Enjoy the fact that, since WURM is a sandbox, you have the freedom to do what you want and how you want. Forget about min-maxing, about optimized blue prints or about "winning the game" and just have fun doing whatever suits you. This will prevent you getting burned out, and will ultimately help you "win the game", since WURM is a marathon, not a sprint. Oh, forgot something... don't quit like I did, sooner or later you'll regret it.
  8. Please let me start by wishing you an amazing year and saying "hellcome back work; hope you had some great holidays". Also would like to honestly congratulate you... you do a really great job as PR officer... is an amazing feat to look enthusiastic and keep trying to present nothing as big news week after week. However, to be honest, I started to kinda get tired of this. Teasers are good, they create an expectation and they keep the people interested. However, they are only good as long they hold to the promises and they are about things happening in the foreseeable future. But when we keep getting only teasers and no news about the real implementation (at least an ETA) it starts being frustrating. If it will take six more months for bridges or crafting interface to be released that's OK, but at least let us know so we can make our plans according; don't just induce as the idea that they are almost done. (For example I stay with some ugly empty spaces on my deed since a few months waiting for the imminent bridges release to fill them with bridges) About all type of fences... well, I guess some people will missuse them and create some abomination buildings, but for most things that could have gone wrong, it looked like the vast majority of the playerbase didn't abused and used game mechanics in weird ways. So I can only salute that. The colossus vynora statue... again, not something I personally appreciate, but anything that adds diversity to the game can only be a good thing... so once again well done. And really... I love these weekly news, but please give us more real things, and less teasers (feel free to check all previous news bulletins, remove the teasers and see with how less content we are left with - I already did that and I ended up with a long, sad face)... and, although I know that's not up to you, please talk with the other devs and focus on actually finish and launching new things, not just start lots of new projects that seems to never make it the live server... Cheers, Alex
  9. Hello folks, Personally I didn't found the test to be (too) biased; I pretty much ended up where I expected I will. Also, I asked a few other people I know IRL to take the test and then (after finishing, but before showing them the results) asked them to estimate where they think they would fit on the grid, and in the majority of cases they actually ranked quite close of their estimation. I think the problem resides in the difference between different cultures - what is considered norm in a country could be seen as outrageous authoritarianism in another one and as extreme liberalism in a third one. For example - limiting access to certain type of Internet sites is pretty much the norm in countries like China, but is seen as outrageous in US. On a different side, a very funny thing I noticed observing the answers and the position in grind where most people are situated (libertharian and social protection) compared with their attitude in game. It looks like in real life most of you are totally against big corporations, against free market and basically against the idea that "those that work harder to live much better", but instead highly support social protection actions that would ensure a good life even for those people who pretty much slack behind. And that's not my comment - that's what means left side of the spectrum - social democracy / populism / greens / socialism / communism. Yet, in games, many of those people who positioned themselves on the left side of the spectrum are iron fist capitalists - rapacious traders and telling everyone who wants an "easier way" to "grind more / work harder or find another game". (I won't give names, but I think they know who they are). Also, it looks like in real life most of you are very libertarian, being pretty much totally against any authoritarian measures. Yet, again, in game pretty much all mayor I ever saw (again including quite a lot of the people who positioned themselves in the bottom side of the graph) are as authoritarian as possible, not allowing their villagers to do anything else than what they specifically told them to, pretty much using them just as dependable work force (aka slaves). Really... I'm curious... how many of you can honestly say that you act in game the same way as you act in real life, following the same principles? Really not criticizing and it is not a name and shame (yeah it may be an attempt to "shame", but definitely not "name" since I no name, although I could have easily picked at least a dozen), just pure curiosity... why such a big difference about real life principles and in game attitude? Like someone living on subsidiaries from government, finding excuses for not getting a job but playing a computer game for 12 hours per day, listening to pirated music and music because "those big companies charge ridiculously high and they are too rich anyway", but being an iron man heartless capitalist in game hoarding lots and lots of riches. Looks like someone who is constantly bullied in real life, but is a the biggest bully in online game just because he can...
  10. Hello folks, Again some spare time tonight (long train trip and typing from my phone), so I've read once again everything said on this thread and I would like to add some comments. Except the expected "sweet comments" from my "usual fans" (which, funny enough follow me on every thread I make, despite the fact that I never ever bothered to check what else they keep themselves busy with on the forums) the problem raised seemed to be that this could be use as a replace for regular deeds, which will result in less money for Rolf, so I will try to combat this. First of all, please note that Rolf profits come pretty much from premium time not from deed costs (which, in a very high proportion, return to players via "kings founds" - traders / selling to tokens options), so any idea that would potentially increase the retention of premium players, even at cost of less deeds, would actually means more money for company / development. And yeah, by tieing this microdeed existence of the premium membership, it brings one extra reason for (casual) people to keep up their premium membership even during periods when they would be less active (like winter holidays for example), since they know that by interrupting their membership they lose their microdeed. But even more, I really don't think that anyone who would afford / be willing to buy / mantain a deed, would be tempted to not do it, but instead opt for a microdeed. And that's because the disadvantages are way too high - it is really tiny (49 tiles all together), which means you can have maximum three animals with good ratio, no templar, no bonuses, no politics, no custom names, no additional citizens (not even wife/best friend/alt), no custom permissions and no trading (so you can't claim with an alt and give permission to your main to mine for example). And with Rolf's announced intention to drop the enclosure rule living in the wilderness becomes way too risky. And while I support this idea (because it was miss used by many to reserve huge amounts of land without paying anything for it), I realize that it will make the life of those people living outside deeds a real nightmare. And while this may somehow be fair for free players (who after all are just trying the game), I really think that a premium player, who pays her money every month, should have at least some kind of protection and prevent them rage quitting just because they logged one day to find all their belongings "raided". Another advantage I can see is that it will prevent abuse of those people actually "claiming lot of land within a few low cost deeds" - like have four deeds of 21x21 in corners, with 20 tiles free between each deeds perimeters (not enough for anyone to deed), basically securing a 81x81 area, with only 4s per month (I saw quite a few of these). And about abusing it... well... kinda hard and expensive to do since it requires the character to stay premium all the time and she is the only one who has rights to perform actions on the deed (can't trade it to another player and can't give permissions to another player - like claiming with an alt and giving permissions to your main). Who would pay 8 euros / month just to claim a microdeed unless it is someone who would actually make use of it? Cheers, Alex
  11. Hello folks, OK... I had some spare time tonight (long train trip and typing from my phone), so I've read once again everything said on this thread and I would like to add some comments. First thing I want to say is that I was mainly referring to the sleep bonus gained naturally, via the sleeping mechanics, not that gained on server crashes. It was introduced to allow players that don't afford to play so much time, to not fall too much behind (quoting Rolf on this), and somehow it does its job, in the sense that players that play only a couple of hours per day can benefit of more SB than those people playing almost all day. Yet, since the sleep bonus sums up only to five hours (which is the equivalent of five days of not being able to login), those people that can't afford to constantly log at least five hours every five days (or one hour per day), end up with being at disadvantage. Really, what the problem would be that in the case I can't log in for two weeks (time during which I have to maintain my premium though), when I'll be back I'll have 14 hours of sleep bonus. Some people say that this may encourage people to not login and just premium characters and let SB accumulate. Some simple math shows that this is not true: One full day of sleeping gives one hour of sleep bonus, and since that translates to double skill gain, it means that by playing one hour per day gives one skills gain equivalent of two hours of normal game play. If one player plays any time more than two hours per day, they still have more skill gain (that not counting that even by playing 12 hours per day, you still naturally gain 30 minutes of SB, so your 12 hours will actually be 12.5 hours). (Same) people say that this may destroy the sleep powders market. This is again not true. Think at the people you ever saw buying sleep powders. Is any of them a casual player, who would not log for days at a time and just try to compensate via sleep powders? I bet not. (Most of) them are hardcore players that just want to be on top of the skills ranks and just buy sleeping powders to cover as much as possible of their grinding. These people will never stay logged out enough to accumulate enough sleep powder to not be interested in buying again. Now where I agree there is a more gray area is regarding sleep bonus handed out on game crashes. While, I still think that my suggestion would solve this problem too (since everyone will get the exact very same amount of sleep bonus on a server crash), I realize that multiple crashes allowing people to get lots of free sleep bonus hours would somehow be unfair to the old people who had to level without this convenience. That's why I think that with the introduction of this system the bonus handed should be lower to compensate - dunno, maybe just hand out sleep bonus according to the time the server was down (like just giving our one hour of SB for every hour of downtime). However, the way the system is now, the casual players (those for which the sleep bonus system was introduced in the first place) are at disadvantage comparing with a hardcore player, which pretty much affords to burn all handed "free SB" within a game day, and go to sleep with an empty bar, prepared for another crash. And yeah... since that's a free gift... we can't really complain. But it is somehow frustrating to know that despite the fact that both of us pay same money per month to Rolf, you consume more server resources than me, yet when a "gift" is giving you are entitled to receive more than me most of the time. Yeah, I guess you can call it frustration. But is NOT MY FRUSTRATION, with my 3-4 hours of play time per day, I usually manage to burn my sleep bonus between crashes, so I'm on the lucky side. I just don't find it fair. Resuming, the things as I see them are like this: - nobody loses anything (actually even hardcore players would win something since I'm sure that it happened to even the most hardcore players to have moments when they did had an overflow - either caused by a server crash, a ninja ROS or just not playing for more than five days during holidays) - casual players, who are not able to always burn one hour of SB every day, benefit from this since they can save the SB time for that gaming weekend / day when kids are at grandparents / whatever - it makes the system more predictable and would accommodate more playing styles - like if most of the time I play from work and I can't have "grinding sessions", I can save my SB time for whenever I'll have time for such a session, without the fear that I'll "lose" any And yes, that IS a suggestion which would benefit casual players, but at the same time I see nothing in it that could potentially hurt hardcore players (maybe except that the casuals would not really lag five years ahead of them, but only four ). Cheers, Alex
  12. Hello folks, Since my last poll was quite successful (over 100 votes on it), for which I say a big THANK YOU to everyone that posted, I thought of making a new one trying to solve another big curiosity of mine, one that haunted me ever since I start playing WURM - are there more casual players (and the games should be tailored more towards them) or there are there more hardcore players (and the game should be tailored more towards them). So please vote and say how many hours you're dedicating to our beloved WURM every week. If it's hard for you to estimate (maybe because very irregular schedule), you can easily get the info from game, by just typing the /time command and make a very simple math operation. For example in my case: You entered through the portal to Wurm on day of the Ant, week 4 of the starfall of the Digging, 1036. That's 48 days, 3 hours and 37 minutes ago. You have played 7 days, 16 hours and 3 minutes. Now just divide the second number (in days, rounded to closest number) to the first number (in days, rounded to closest number) and multiply with 168 (*24 *7); in my case that would be 8 / 48 * 24 * 7 = 28 hours per week (4 hours per day). The answers are anonymous so don't worry about someone else seeing what you voted. And although I would love to actually hear some detailed answers (and even see the numbers from in game to see who is the most dedicated player out there ), even just voting is fine. Thank you for participating. Really curious to see your answers. Cheers, Alex
  13. For all those people who were ungrateful and unhappy of the gift they received, here's your chance to make three people happy, by donating them the gift which is totally useless for you. Come on, show some holiday spirit.
