  1. My wife created an account and installed the Windows x64 client. She is able to sign into Forums with no issue, but when she tries to start the game, she gets an error saying her password is wrong. She gets the same thing from the webpage when she tries to go into the shop. We've both tried and failed. We also reset her password to confirm it was correct when we typed it. Any issues that might be causing this?
  2. Most of the gems are between 40 and 60 in ql.
  3. New settlement Deed name: Bearclaw Hollow Deed location: 49F Deed size: 11x11 (size 5) Alliance: The Fellowship
  4. My deed is Bearclaw Hollow It's location is 29BB in the upper right corner of the coordinate. It essentially takes up all of the obvious recession in the hill. Thanks! Larken
  5. Hey there, I have a homestead with the following location: Deed name: Bearclaw Hollow Deed location: 29BB Deed size/upkeep (do not include perimeter sizes): 5 Alliance name, members and preferred colour (if applicable): The Fellowship If you don't have record of The Fellowship, just disregard. Thanks
  6. Tents

Personally, I don't really care about rewards like sleep bonus for using a tent. For me, it is the roleplay factor. It would just be fun, at night, while travelling, to set up a tent and make a fire... maybe cast your line into a nearby lake to catch your dinner. If sleep bonus were included, I think there needs to be something to prevent them from being pitched within 50 to 100 tiles of a settlement so that inns are not invalidated. Do people stay at inns?? I never have.
  7. I know it has been discussed in previous threads, but I think that some additions should be made to allow for life on the move. As someone who enjoys staying out away from civilization for extended periods, I felt like I had a few ideas. Bedrolls would allow for camping and getting perhaps 25% to 50% of the sleep bonus you would get in a bed. I would say they couldn't be used just anywhere. No use inside and the area of use should be flat and dirt... perhaps a campfire within one tile. Can't make it too easy or everyone will have one and skip making a bed. You would probably need to be a decent tailor to make one. I don't think tents are a good idea just because they aren't necessary. The only reason for them in real life is weather and bugs. This is a game. Not too worried about those since they don't affect us. Another idea is to be able to use cotton, or perhaps rags as kindling. This adds to realism and gives you another short, temporary source of light. Just today, I needed light in a mine but didn't have a knife with me to make kindling, but I did have some rags and steel and flint. And from someone who has tried it, a bit of cotton catches a spark a lot better than some fine wood shavings. I've seen previous posts about portable ovens and such, but I think the shortened heating time of cooking negates a need for that. As for blacksmithing, when you are living a nomadic lifestyle, you have to make the sacrifice of your decision. Most likely, you will be forging over a campfire with a small anvil. If you want something requiring a large anvil, borrow one or buy/barter what you want. The only other thing that I can think of that one would need to live a life on the move is a slight alteration to what it takes to make meals. I could be wrong, but I don't think that much foraged and botanized items go together with meat or fish to make a meal. Now, obviously, if you find potato or corn, it would, but those are rather rare to come by. I personally would find fish, mushrooms and berries to be a satisfying meal in the forest.
  8. I guess I see it as a real world economic decision. For my main on Wild, I won't pay to play him on Wild. I'm only going to play him and pay if I can have him moved to Freedom. Perhaps it should become something like Everquest where if you want to change servers, there is a real world cost involved. As long as it is reasonable, I'd do it.
  9. I hadn't played in a while and when I came back, I discovered that Freedom Isles has been opened. I also discovered the hard way that drowning had been implemented... *sigh* My main character, Larken, had been left on MR Home, which I'm told is gone. I'm also told that he will appear on Wild if I pay for a premium account. Is it possible to get him from Wild to FI? If so, how do I go about it?
  10. MadWallaby, are you talking from a fighting standpoint when you say "to even things up"? I don't think fighting should be limited at all... only trade skills and the mining, woodcutting, etc that goes along with it. I'm speaking as the guy who is more interested in village development and trade as opposed to fighting amongst factions.
  11. I've quit multiple times as well, but I always come back to see what's new. I'm playing on Golden Valley right now, but I don't see me paying premium to go to another server. I already have a guy on MR that I could play. I would just like to see something added to give me more motivation to advance my skills. As it is, I can get by on mediocre. I don't think there is demand for high quality items as much because anyone can get their skill up to do it. You need something besides religion to make yourself unique.
  12. I've played Wurm since Gold, and every time I get going and build and get myself established, I run into the same thing. I have a really good time playing and getting myself to the point of self sustenance, but once I do that and my belly is always full, I get pretty bored pretty quick. I think this has to do with what I see as the lack of motivation to develop skills. I think the game would be more interesting and players would be more reliant on each other if the "trade" type skills were capped at perhaps 20 or 30, and you were forced to choose a trade like Masonry or Carpentry. With that chosen skill, you could go to 100 and you would be competing in the market against others who have chosen that trade. It would also encourage less focus on currency and more on bartered goods between individuals and villages. What do you think? Am I out in left field somewhere?
  13. Nope... not duel clienting... only running one at a time. And I just replaced my router. I only brought this up because when I last played a month or so ago, I didn't notice this and my provider hasn't changed.
  14. I brought a mule in, did a couple things, and logged off. Then I brought my main in. My mule hung around for about 15 or 20 minutes before disconnecting. My /lotime has been saying 60 second, but I've noticed that disconnect has been taking a lot longer the past few days. Just today, I logged out, shut down my system, pulled my video card and made adjustments to it. After replacing my video card, and powering up, I logged back in, and it gave me the message that it was reconnecting me, indicating that my avatar was still in the world.
