  1. Very tacky, looks and feels like a mobile phone ad or something that'd autoplay in a website ad space back in the mid 2000's. It's filled with buzzwords and typical "hype" terms that mean nothing at all for this game. "Where choices matter"? What choices? What slope my tile is going to be? "Destiny waits for no one" what destiny? The game has 0 questline or story that matters. What destiny? Katspurr produced a trailer that much better shows what we have to offer, using elements that are much more realistic. This was made by someone who hasn't played and wants to mass market with a total bait and switch. This branding and graphic work looks poor too. It looks like it belongs on Android, with a cartoon style and colour scheme that reminds me of a Minecraft mod pack.
  2. I wonder. Here's a stark reminder of how little attention is paid to the website. Most social media links were broken. A chunk were missing. Most community aspects that are directly player focused, like VEN? Outdated at best, removed at worst. Will a new website change the trend of the main website being neglected? We'll see.
  3. I touch on that on my PM to them, hopefully they see the demand for a return of streams and other community elements and we see some changes. There's a very large gap for proper Wurm content.
  4. I'm just going to say it. Jackal was exactly what this game needed. It's what it still needs, in a way. Jackal offered a PvE experience with a new element of challenge to the game, and was one of the most impressive pieces of single content we've had in the last decade probably. It had flaws, issues, bad moments, but overall it was an impressive and interesting experience. After a more lackluster finale, instead we got Budda taken out behind the developer shed for whatever reason and replaced without any attempt to resolve, fix and improve on the experience and get things in place for another round of Jackal. It's a crying shame. All we've had since is updates that are either interesting (coffee, holy sites) but offer little new to really experience, or really bad system reworks and rebalances (animal husbandry, imbues). Is Western Freedom Isles needed? God no. Is there space for a new server type which is frequently wiped and offers a new experience where people from both clusters can come together to play? Absolutely. We just need to not have bad actors hype up issues to make them seem worse than they are.
  5. I'd love that, please absolutely make it happen.
  6. I think the message overall here is being missed, which is that the game offers a variety of things you can do, different playstyles and how you can interact with the world. No one playstyle is identical, and they don't look the same. We don't need to discredit or pick apart the playstyles or enjoyment of others. Wurm is what we make it. Let's just all enjoy it as we like. The quote in the original post was just that they were excited to share the news with us. I imagine the exciting changes are already in the roadmap after all, given it's 4 months old.
  7. So that particular window is only for games with an active discount, you wouldn't see a free to play game there unless you could buy expansions, like Fallout 76 does for example. Also, money. Steam isn't exactly cheap to advertise on, and it's a spotty return on investment at best for Wurm. There's very clearly a big push currently on new player experience, so it'd be silly to advertise and market before this stuff is mostly, if not completely out of the door.
  8. Yeah, that's what VEN got well. It had well thought out tiers, that offered more to people who stuck to building an audience. For some it may sound brutal, but nobody starts streaming and gets it all correct right away. Having a tiered system that rewards based on being a regular streamer with a good viewer count, with some flexibility where it's needed is perfect. It rewards being regular, it rewards increasing your viewership, it rewards you learning how to engange and interact meaningfully with your audience. Having a system like this is interesting to streamers, it gives them a reason to continue streaming. We should be rewarding those who go out there and give us entertainment that we enjoy. Just the logo from what has been posted, I highly doubt they'd be bold enough to do a full rebranding of the games name.
  9. I'm directly interested in this. Very heavily. I have done a lot of work to dwelve into Wurm social medias and what they're lacking, and what people want. I then collated all that information and put it in a document, that was sent to staff. To say I've done a lot of work to try and point out there's a gap in current Wurm socials is an understatement, and I'm ready and motivated to come in and give everything my best attempt. With everything said in your post, I think there's a space for someone within the team that has communicated directly with the playerbase publically near daily in public. Someone they feel is truly approachable, without a worry about pestering a staff member. Demona and the work she does is fantastic, but as we can see in spots like VEN, there's a need for someone who can cover the rest of the bases and push to get support out to our existing programs. Funny thing, there was a timeframe recently where we had in influx of new streamers come to the game. Without a system to promote streaming, like VEN, this eventually died out and most those streamers are now gone. I did what I could myself to try and bridge this gap a bit. I created the Madnath Entertainment Network, collecting all Wurm streamers and other information, in order to try and give a publicity boost where I could, and trying to help them get items to give away if they desired. This isn't me trying to act official. This is me, saying what I see, and showing I'm in touch with what we're currently missing. I will await the position for recruitment going up, though I know I'm shooting for the sun. Krister, and any Wurm staff, if you want a copy of the pdf that I made, feel free to contact me in PM, or on Discord if you feel more comfortable. I'm always available, ready and willing to talk to anyone directly with respect and understanding.
  10. The last official news that was offered, and not total conjecture, is that they are on hold. The desire is for it to be a properly unique experience, one that isn't just a slightly different fighting experience. With the work they've done, we'll see them at some point, they just want to do some extra work to try and make it something properly reaching their ambition.
  11. +1 Holy smokes it's nice to have it but needs some work to be actually as good as it deserves to be. The fact it's kingdom robes gives it a lot, but please just this little extra is all we need
  12. I desire 100 mining. I desire 100 pickaxe. I desire more body stats. Invite me to your deed. Let me into your mine. I will mine your sandstone veins. I can either put the shards in storage you provide, or discard them. This is not a fast service. I will be grind wounded up to do this. And for that reason, I will do this for cheap. Just PM me here or ingame if there's a sandstone vein in your way you're in no major rush to get removed. If you're on Xanadu it's coastal only, I refuse to travel inland for 20 years.
  13. 1/7 chance for green tome. You mean for €17 more you get a year of premium and maybe the tome, if you're fine hoping you get a decent enough one to warrant a trade.
  14. I wonder about this, because in all my logs of killing avatars, Lib has always been female, Mag and Fo male, and Vyn has always been male.
  15. Good luck catching the yeti, he usually gets cold feet
  16. I imagine the discounts future is part of that final details, though nobody can really say for certain
  17. We did get a reply, but it's no confirmation of anything
  18. Again, gonna be very honest and I hope this doesn't rattle you, or anyone else. Isn't it fairly obvious that when things are vague, it perfectly brings forward fear or panic? This was as vague as could be. Trader discount wasn't even mentioned. "We're figuring out a new method of offering the deed upkeep discount and will share a plan for feedback when we have a more concrete idea." Great! People know the traders will go, but they're not left hanging on what happens to the discount and its future. It directly communicates the main point that's going to be of concern. "We're unsure on the future of the trader discount and we'd appreciate input on the matter." Clear enough, you'll still get a fire but you're at least prepared and ready for it. Both options are better by miles than not touching on it at all in any form.
  19. So it's still up in the air. I'm going to be blunt here, maybe dangerously so. Please, when it comes to significant changes like this, please start saying a bit more. We've had a fair bit of questions in GL and PMs taken to me from people upset or outraged at the idea of deed discount going away. It takes a sentence or two to ease these kind of things. "We're still working out some final details on this change, so expect further news on the deed discount system in the future." is all the post needed to make this news go out a bit better. We don't expect the world, or all the details at once. But trader discount is something widely adopted and known about. The sudden news being "yes they're going away" isn't enough to keep things smooth in any community. As a side thing to not make this all negative, a lot of really nice stuff I'm excited for in this post!
  20. leaving

Sad day, used to like going to the Rakger merchant.
