  1. I recall when I did my grind, 99 damage rugs took around 55 seconds to repair (my memory is awful but I can confirm 200% that it does take at least 50 seconds to repair 90+ damage fully) Interesting find, I never repaired under 90 damage but I'm half tempted to ignite some lava...
  2. I'm going to join the others who are saying that, at the very least for shield bashing, this is silly. Meditation can be done 5 times 30 minutes apart, and then 3 hours apart after. This makes switching on SB at the last second VIABLE. Shield bashing doesn't get this luxury, and skilling it has already been made difficult and frustrating due to mechanics like the curve meaning you have to constantly monitor your shield because it's acting weird in a way not easily presented. We've reached a point now where yourselves on the dev team can see and admit there's an issue. However you want to take the system that's being "fixed" to take away our shield bashing gains out of it. The issue, scenario and end result isn't the same in any regard and throwing it in there seems more like padding or fluff, or clearly not throught out well at all. If the plan is to take this away, please get an actual plan for shields in place and worked towards before you make it even worse to grind up. As a matter of fact I want to pick apart this whole "caffeine needed when travelling" weirdness. Meditation? Done on deed mostly, unless you're going for question, then you wouldn't even be using SB anyway. Lockpicking? Can be done literally anywhere, people just slap locks on stuff like picnic baskets lmao. Shield bashing? If you're seriously, actively grinding this, 99% chance you're pen training because that's the only tolerable way to do it and as it stands the system totally craps out once you hit 50 anyway. And yes, that's total and utter crap out even with caffeine. Caffeine just helps you reach that point of crap a bit faster.
  3. The few times I went on there I barely got to actually test anything because you're just dropped into some area and given some basic stuff and you're mostly just left to it. It's made testing super hard in the past for me before, so I've just never really bothered outside of a few times to try and fiddle with some things. Keenan setting up an actual test area is very interesting and I will be going to test it and play around a bit. Given that part of the operation with the test server is that things reset "often" it makes it harder to test longer term things, like how comfortable restlessness decay is.
  4. How will it be affected by things like bedrolls that only give you 75% of the SB over time?
  5. Meditation I can somewhat understand but lockpicking is already kinda crap to grind, and shield bashing is so broken it's weird to include it in this as it's not even grinded the same way meditation and lockpicking are. If you're grinding bashing there's no doubt you're grinding shield skills too so your SB would be on anyway. Seems like a weird pick to throw in, and not really needed. Isn't this already the case?
  6. When I ran auctions on fancy compasses, I'd sometimes get PM bids because a player might be staff. It seems there's been times in the past where folks on the team have been smeared because someone doesn't like an official bidding on a player auction. I can understand the fears though, even if I personally think it's not justified. Private bids are risky but potentially gainful, and artificially drive up value. I think if I was to run an auction again in the future, I'd only allow individuals on staff to bid via private PM.
  7. Why would it be? +1 to this, but it'd still have to realistically have some sort of window for it. Which isn't a bad thing! Tick a box for either WTS or PC at least, and input a price if you want one. Don't automatically send the message, instead input the text and the info you previously set in a box, and then if you want to amend it, you're able to! Still automates most of it in a way, but allows some degree of flexibility too.
  8. Do you mean it happens every time an animal is killed? Or does it sometimes also happen after a handful of creature kills? I have the latter issue, and it's quite an old one at that.
  9. Update today

yes, I'd like to thank @Tomatoesfor directing us here since feedback isn't welcome in the discord
  10. One can dream, but I've relegated it to "will never happen regardless of frequent request"
  11. I remember the exact same thing. I've been wondering about it recently, weirdly enough.
  12. We touched on it, but really because we know nothing about it, it just boiled down to what Budda said. Which was just "Hahahahhaha"
  13. Yeah I kinda lean moreso towards this. The timer only really sucks because we can't drink over water limit currently and this is the only really bad part of the system currently. I'd say the timer is pretty comfortable currently, as it'd suck to have to delay doing something for a while with SB if your fatigue is getting low. It feels kinda redundant to worry about this with the system binning fatigue with the next iteration, but I'd seriously just add drinking coffee over water bar limit at the next possible time just to see if any timer complaints remain when we're less unable to get that power back up. In short, please god give us drinking coffee over water bar ASAP, even if its with current system as some people don't have an alt to use to throw up and playing with low water is horrible. At most, maybe add 5 minutes extra to the timer. The more I think of it, the more unsure I am. 1.5x really doesn't sound all that good, what people seem to love is the ability to get through all their SB a lot faster and going down to that feels quite a leap.
  14. To everyone, myself and Fabricant wish you an amazing new year! We know it's early, but the reason why will be clear... Every year, we host a stream in the final part of December where we catch up and chat about all the content and feature updates to Wurm over the last year. Going through the Wurmpedia tab for "Recent updates" (https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Wurm_Server_Release_Notes_2021) we'll generally talk about the highs and lows of the year, the big things, the little things and the events and moments that inspired/wowed/shocked us. This year, we want to give some input to you on the forums. Chat down below in the comments about the things you liked and didn't like so much this year. At some point during the stream, we'll bring up some of the comments made and chat about them too! This is your chance to show off the events or parts of the updates and new content releases that really mattered to you. There's been a lot of big things this year, from the combat update to Retrograde's resigning. Fixing rolling rank 5 affinities twice and dodgy Chaos artifact renames, praying skilling changes, and overhauling animal husbandry and further tweaks and improvements to the new UI. And of course, that fancy coffee mechanic to destroy your fatigue. And for some reason a VR announcement. We'll be streaming on the 29th at 6:18PM GMT. You'll be able to catch the stream at: https://www.twitch.tv/Fabricant

  20. 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the deed Not a player was stirring, but Emoo, who drank from a shoe. The tree was placed right by the posts of features teased, In hopes that the devs would continue their care; The mute warned were nestled all snug in their beds; While nightmares of bans danced around in their heads; When out in GL there arose such a singing, I sprang out from Alliance to see what small bell was ringing. Away past CA HELP I ran in a flash, Almost slipped on a fish that once needed a splash. The coloured text after those new-fallen posts, Gave a lustre of humour to the weirdos below, When what to my wondering eyes did I see, But Enki making more typos for me! More rapid than eagles his peons they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name! "Now, Keenan! now, Darklords! now Ausimus and Warlords! On, Scooter! on, ‘Tatio! on, Demona and Kats! To the top of the forum! to the top of the topics list! We posted 11 Valrei threads this year, please stop having a fit!" And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little foot. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the fireplace Enki came with a bound. He was in grey, from his head to his foot, And from his shoulder a dead owl did linger. A bundle of items he had flung on his back, And he looked like a merchant, just opening his pack. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled our area with mobs of all calibers, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose! And before this all ends he spoke in Event — “Happy Christmas dear Wurmians, and to all a good night!” Yes I'm aware most of it doesn't rhyme very well, I'm not good at this stuff! A Merry Christmas to everyone! In the spirit of giving, for those of you on SFI, if you want a small barrel of Kahvesi for mail cost, let me know in the posts below with your ingame name and I'll try and get some to you. One per person, in order to not destroy my time and the people who make a living ingame selling it. Try only to ask for it if you'll use it. No offense or annoyance to anyone was intended, this is all very tongue in cheek and in good humour. Players and staff get the same silly treatment in this!
  21. Yeah Jackal has a lot of issues, primarily being once you're there it's not actually all that interesting and a lot of the mechanics just felt a pain rather than a challenge at points. I'll never forget the rage and sales of pelts. I'd love to see Jackal come back, but as something pretty different. But that's a lot of change, and a lot of effort for a idea that floundered over time.
