  1. You have to remember, when you look at "medieval" buildings, you look at centuries old constructions and centuries of decay. They looked quite a bit different when new.
  2. Keep in mind that this is a screen of an 11 tile bridge, up close it probably looks pretty close to what Xallo posted. With less decay of course.
  3. I think we still have one or two. And they would need it at the latest when they make a new island. Besides they are redoing ALL old creatures and Kyklops was one of the last ones. I think it is good that they actually complete the job. Braziers and a lot of other small stuff are waiting, because for some reason that special graphics update needs to be applied next to the life system, but is not finished yet. Staircases will probably be next, because they would use the a very simmilar system to brides, in the meanwhile you can use bridges as ramps.
  4. I like how people call a 2000 year old design "too modern". (; Iit looks like a perfect example of a freshly build roman bridge, like this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alc%C3%A1ntara_Bridge
  5. Well it used to be that way in one of the older versions. So that suspicion wasn't entirely unfounded.
  6. From the texture usage it could even be 2x22, but for that the railing seems a bit high, so I'd say 1x11 too. I guess that short or low bridges will be just the flat top and all bridges longer than five tiles and higher than about 15m will get such a big support in the middle and all bridges longer than 10 will get two supports. Longer than 17 will get three, etc.
  7. For making individual stuff, the old menu is definitely faster. But you can also drag entire stacks to the crafting gui and keep creating for bulk.
  8. It sounds nice, but it would have been even better if you could have chosen the pavement and fencing yourself. I mean the system is already in place for stories, so why not use it for bridges as well?
  9. Of course levelling up is faster, you only drop dirt. levelling down, requires digging actions.
  10. No one knows for sure how it works exactly, but you can't just turn any tile into a path tile. Afaik, the map is covered with a 4x4 grid and there can only be one path tile per cell, if there already is a natural one, you can't make another one too close. So when you try making one, check out the surrounding tiles as well. Afaik all you need for a power tile is altitude. It doesn't have to be flat, but it shouldn't be too steep. And all power tiles I know off are either on rock or pavement.
  11. I couldn't find olive trees, is that one still with an old model?
  12. OK, this is the the error I get for the Intel chip: Failed to create display! DISPLAY CREATION FAILED Nov 16, 2013 3:12:11 PM Lib.Graphics.GLInit initDisplay Schwerwiegend: null org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Could not choose GLX13 config at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplayPeerInfo.initDefaultPeerInfo(Native Method) at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplayPeerInfo.(LinuxDisplayPeerInfo.java:61) at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplay.createPeerInfo(LinuxDisplay.java:788) at org.lwjgl.opengl.DrawableGL.setPixelFormat(DrawableGL.java:61) at org.lwjgl.opengl.Display.create(Display.java:846) at org.lwjgl.opengl.Display.create(Display.java:757) at Lib.Graphics.GLInit.initDisplay(GLInit.java:35) at Mapper.Mapper$1.run(Mapper.java:87) This, I get with the NVidia: Failed to create display! DISPLAY CREATION FAILED Nov 16, 2013 3:11:44 PM Lib.Graphics.GLInit initDisplay Schwerwiegend: null org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Samples > 0 specified but there's no support for GLX_ARB_multisample at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplayPeerInfo.initDefaultPeerInfo(Native Method) at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplayPeerInfo.<init>(LinuxDisplayPeerInfo.java:61) at org.lwjgl.opengl.LinuxDisplay.createPeerInfo(LinuxDisplay.java:788) at org.lwjgl.opengl.DrawableGL.setPixelFormat(DrawableGL.java:61) at org.lwjgl.opengl.Display.create(Display.java:846) at org.lwjgl.opengl.Display.create(Display.java:757) at Lib.Graphics.GLInit.initDisplay(GLInit.java:35) at Mapper.Mapper$1.run(Mapper.java:87) Unfortunately I don't understand that error. I don't even know if it's something I have to fix, or you.
  13. They are trying to implement sloped bridges. Once that is done, they may implement something that rope bridges slope automatically.
  14. Something sounds very wrong here, because we have been wanting the ability to build fences inside houses for ages. Would be best to provide a screenshot, because from your explanation I have no idea what you did there.
  15. I think the randomness actually makes it less boring than a long timer or repeated action would be. And over time it's the same result.
  16. Just a reminder: It still can't create a display on my Ubuntu. Which is odd considering other people seem able to use Ubuntu fine. Any idea on what I can do?
  17. This might be because alchemy is not created, but mixed instead. (different code base, not yet included in the gui)
  18. Sometimes it pays off to read, that 's the bug that's already been posted three times now. Seems to be a broken vertex shader in the last client update. it can be avoided by turning of glsl in the compatibility tab.
  19. Well, here is mine: I first laid out the trader, stables, and farm, then tried to fit everything in. it's to big for one carpenter, so there is a gap. tell me if you wanna see more.
  20. Well I didn't test for many versions, but I did an Ubuntu update. I got a Notebook with an Intel i3 and Nvidia GeForce 315M / Intel Ironlake graphics. For the display error it doesn't matter which graphic chip I use by the way. The gui pops up for a half a minute with a black map. edit: doesn't seem to be a hardware fault: just bootet windows on the same machine, there Deedplanner works.
  21. Guy, if you are worrying about the lighting update: Keep in mind that this is done by an external consultant, who is likely some kind of lighting specialist. It is to expect that he will do some mayor bug fixes and optimisation with the old code as well as adding new features. That means you will likely have a hjgher framerate when running with current quality settings. And there will be higher top quality setting for those who have the power.
  22. Seems something went really wrong somewhere. Those floorboards aren't just displaying the wrong graphics or something, they seem to be gone entirely and replaced with dirt..
  23. How the hell is your server dependant on your graphics engine? 0,o ?
