  1. Happens in every business, a co-worker or even boss will say the wrong thing to the customers, then one gets the task of telling them that their expectations weren't realistic. I've said this to many game staff members in the past, and fellow co-workers (I work tourism, my customers get to corner me for 8 hours a day, usually their angriest moments being when i got all 40some locked in with me on a bus... REALLY wish they'd just let me have it on some kind of forums): "Ignore their rage, in between all that venom is the reason of their anger, and in that reason is a solution. In the meantime don't take it personally, it's the company they're raging at, not you as a person". We get to read through more of (Bob) and (Joe) walls of text when something goes wrong than we'll ever get to read worth of official replies. We do understand that devs are humans. We do understand that you can't remember all at the same time. Now please understand that us customers are humans too, specifically the non-psychic kind. Understand that lately, *cash-based* decisions we are being faced with due to mechanics changes are having to be done based on guesswork (people who supersized deeds when enclosures were gonna be removed to find out later that it's half price, still guessing when xanadu borders are opening, permanent effects from sorcery still being guessed which though it's part of the game, just adds, the infamous Sparta raid). When new things like the deed stake are added, that kind of detail being openly posted by game staff would go a long way toward avoiding this kind of thing. ONLY reason I figured out off the start that "pay for perimeter once, pay a second time once you re-deed", unfortunately, is due to doubting the accuracy of everything that's announced lately. I still have to buy money off the Wurm store (So Ayes doesn't accuse me of payment dodging.. see what we have to deal with?) to deed on Xanadu once my main goes, but until my knarr is actually through I'm continuing business as usual because "at least a week" is so vague it made me shudder. Once again, if you're not staff, let staff and customer handle it. It's like you scan through threads naysaying every little complaint another paying customer has. We're still paying, and mostly doing it in cold hard IRL cash despite your illusion that everyone but you does so............. so if you really want to "combat evil" or whatever your crusade is, you can do LOTS of that on CNN, BBC, FOX, and Al-Jazeera discussion boards. One of the reasons devs will run into angry and frustrated people, is folks like you who already have the thread primed nice n' hostile with walls of text saying how everyone is wrong and is entitled to nothing from Code Club, while accusing us of not wanting the game to profit, basically. Btw aren't you one of those rooting for teleports at server borders? Seems to me like you don't want to buy silver off the Wurm Store to pay for your hauling. (See how annoying that is?) =Mordraug=
  2. Ehm.................. this is the highways' thread? :3
  3. Oh I LOVE those ........ I know having a coastal road along your deed isn't mandatory but in all honesty, if you do, the community will generally appreciate it..... even if not a road, or flattened, just something wide and shallow enough for a cart to pass.
  4. Just picked this thread among many unique threads but......
  5. Close Chaos borders for 3 days when uniques respawn
  6. Where highways DO happen, as they eventually will.. I have a request.... If you wanna connect a highway to your deed, and you're one of those people for whom the WORLD will END if the 25 tiles from the highway to your deed aren't ALSO 2-wide.... please... ffs PLEASE... Use signs, gatehouses, rope fencing, paving different from the highway itself, SOMETHING that'll let a long distance traveller know that "the highway turns left here" instead of having one find out by finally reaching a dead end. (Typically people who want "a highway from the highway to my deed" have a fully closed-off deed to begin with). In my case, easy enough to turn around and let that damned troll have it, but don't think that's the case for everyone.
  7. Bloody Potions!

Ooooooooooooo effect of those potions wears off FAST. Mines down to [2] already from 500ish ores.
  8. *bookmarks for when they start demanding chaos connect to P&R because "it's a quicker sail"*
  9. Recommended, he and his alliance. Good prices good gear. Also well-coordinated, so if you can't coincide time-wise, someone will help the transaction happen as smoothly as possible. Worth my trips from Release.
  10. Hailene plate armor + Hailene maul + Foarl LT = Handful of silvers. Surviving the goblin leader's hits thanks to your own hits, Priceless. Healing your severe wounds on the way home with a couple of wildcat fights, Priceless too. +1
  11. +1 to reinforcing the code to make sure it randomizes properly.
  12. Bloody Potions!

[19:30:08] A tool for mining. This is a very rare and interesting version of the item. The pickaxe has some dents that must be flattened by a hammer. [19:30:08] It has been imbued with special abilities, and it improves mining max ql [6] Mining 68.32, getting 70.86ql ores, so +1.04 ql. Whoopwhoopwhoopwhoopwhoopwhoop!
  13. Did I mention that it's shiny? (marketing genius *bump*)
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvOriA4CvC4
  15. Does need some serious fixing....... after a few days, and this is common, I feel like going to Code Club's offices, hitting them with a molotov, and spraypainting on any remaining walls: Nature increased by 0.00127 to 43.1745 and Soul increased by 0.00098 to 28.5347 Had a full week without ticks more than once.
  16. Heh.... and there's why some of them want to be connected so badly to Release and Pristine......
  17. Havenspark

It's a server 32x32 km of flat clay with no water or way to reach it. There is one grass tile somewhere on the server where only willow grows. Ppl who commit too serious infractions have their character sent there with all available tools at q90 except shovels.
  18. "Exp per tick" is all ppl look at... "Exp per hour" is a bit more professional, 'nuff said
  19. It's on test.. carving knife and shaft.
  20. Comes down to what I find, land-wise.
  21. If all goes to plan, hoping to have some form of outpost on every PvE server. But P&R to answer your question........ and feels small.. cramped even.
  22. PLEASE CLOSE [17:25:28] A large wooden loom, made for weaving. This is a very rare and interesting version of the item. It is made from oakenwood. You notice some notches you must carve away in order to improve the floor loom. Ql: 70.55295, Dam: 0.0. [17:25:28] You can barely make out the signature of its maker, 'Ardrau.'. ((Shameless publicity)) Yes, actual oak one (edit on title: yes i know Q70.. typo.. you get the idea) *snip* Ql: 71.00934, Dam: 0.0. *Edit, 'grats Wilca. Release delivery: pretty much anywhere, the odd remote location or two may require coastal delivery instead. Pristine: Coastal.
  23. Sometimes it's worth waiting for wind to improve before sailing, then basic logic you know when it's worth sailing a bit off-course vs trying for a straight line depending on winds. Straight-line sailing, that's a supreme rowboat or normal one with 2 passengers. Once again, way "easier" games out there that ignore winds. As I said before, if shipping gets teleports because "d'aaaaaaaw boooring!!?", then why not a few speed-travel points on land too. Trust me, land travel's boring when nothing short of a champ troll poses a threat. "Hell hound... ooo... ah." Wurm isn't about instant gratification, face it =)
  24. Happens to everyone else who sails. Travelling by land can be boring when trolls no longer pose a threat, not a reason to split the map in 16 sections and put a portal in each which teleports to the others. Hauling is also a market in Wurm, one that's about to expand. Exploration is part of the game's fun. If crossing from Release to the old cluster degenerates into a 12hr trip because the wind went rebellious on me, there are several ways to find a shoreline to logoff for the evening. Once again, if it's portals and teleports and such over-simplifications that have really damaged many games in order to attract way younger audiences, might wanna consider another game. One of those where you build a house in 10 minutes, spend a week hitting level cap, then go solo a dragon to your armor of godliness.
  25. Seriously? Ship teleporting? I insist.. wrong game... plenty of WoW-clones out there with 10 million teleports for those that like to reduce their game to 5 or 6 key points.
