Stopped all building, been doing some downsizing, got iron in the crates, horses have a new home, deed's good to sell (by and by, if you had your deed good to sell to someone NOT moving, odds are they think it connected today... dat pressure to "take the silver, gimme the paper, and get yo armored self on that knarr!"............................. Think I can fit it all in a knarr. It's getting tempting to pack everything, complete the sale, dock at some friend's harbor at some unobstrusive corner, and check back in December (partial figure of speech) if no other game has particularly snagged me by then. I'm guessing females got a cruddier spell because unlike us guys, you just gotta smile and BE there, and us guys will primitively jump ahead as cannon fodder. (disclaimer: just trolling mildly. Serious comment: gender-based buffs and debuffs in games... you have to be REALLY careful to get actual balance, which is why most games simply don't do it. Only exception that comes to mind is games where a female player's "charm" skill only works on male characters and well... need i say more)

So we got irritated customers on one hand, and sycophants on the other trying to be as loud as possible to dismiss any displeasure said customers may wish to express. tl;dr You sycophants, as I've stated on other threads, are the main reason that by the time a dev DOES communicate everyone is riled up and hostile. This kind of constant guesswork would be more tolerated by many if one could email Code Club on bad months saying: "Look, imma bit broke right now, but keep my premium alive will ya? I'll pay sometime next month".

I'm pretty sure a separate templar entity can be made for different kingdoms. As for "making templars stronger would make people hire less of them" ... actually fired mine at a point because I could get the job done way better. If I need something tanked, tower guards. This being on not Xanadu where characters have the skills to maul their own trolls and build guard towers. I wouldn't have added spawn points that generate champions on Xan just yet, to be honest. That said, I see no reason to buff up templars and make them worth something again. Only way i could handle a champ troll as a newbie was my two templars + guards from tower, THEN lead to next deed with templars before he could regen.

A straight answer by Friday would be a commercially wise move, all things said. The guessing game's starting to wear a bit thin, and I don't mean only regarding servers' connection, but this is the "prominent" one on many folks' minds atm.

My current (Release) deed's rock layer is about 100 dirts deep. So the "you're whining! you should have prospected EVERYTHING" crew is saying that either people should have deeded on open rock, or in cases like my deed's location (and I'm sure many places on Xanadu), they should have exposed ALL the rock tiles with a lv 15 digging, prospected, THEN decided to deed? I'm not gonna openly insult said crowd, not because of forums' rules, but because I'd need several paragraphs just referring to the obvious flaws in their logic.

Almost every expenditure on Wurm is guesswork these days. Why don't you take YOUR (you and the other 2 or 3 shills barging into every thread acting like you're our parents and Wurm is your gift to us) bitching elsewhere, and let people who are displeased discuss this with actual Wurm staff for a change. One of the reasons devs don't read these threads much anymore, is because by the time they do, 3 or 4 of your kind have been getting on everyone's nerves so the devs get to walk into a nicely turned-hostile thread. Your so-called "defense" of the game only causes it more harm in the long run.

-1 to refunds....... Try selling your deed. In a refund you'd get tile cost, so negotiate based on that, any additions you think might be worth something, and ore content. Don't let the amount of people put you down, there's folks who love having a dozen deeds.

Ooooooh.... Translation: Some of the iron veins might accidentally be peppered onto existing veins of other stuff. tl;dr both devs and players could do with some more bullet-pointed 10-line updates of what's going on. Now imma say something defending the devs and Wurm staff in general...... as a community we SHOULD give the wurmpedia some updating and cleaning up. That said, might be worth an organized effort in communication with devs to help doublecheck our info. On the flip side, that could evolve into community assistance to fill in some missing details on the website, specially regarding monetary-related parts, and maybe even chuck in a few extra languages. Much-needed imho. "Deceptive advertising" isn't the word, more like "incomplete advertising" but the results can be staggeringly similar in terms of company reputation and customer trust.

Oh was just A suggestion. I can see where people with all slate and silver but no iron might be peeved, if say, that person deeded for his jeweller/mason main. The more brainstorm, the better. Personally I'm more for just peppering iron too instead of revamping existing veins BUT.......... if a full revamp is needed........ Could also be some thread where people have one week after ores' change to formally request a silver refund in order to move from their gold n' marble mines turned iron n' copper to a new spot. As for the "you should have prospected the whole area!!" crowd.... My deed on Release has NO rock and the shallowest I found was about 100 dirts deep. Had it been a Xanadu deed and someone had come up to me with that line, insults would have flown hot and foul.

Uncalled for hostility? Wrong guy, I'm the last one to want a road to his deed, but since people are gonna make them anyways, why not a thread with basic "politeness suggestions" eh. After all, I'm sure at least a fraction of ppl who mess a road have no idea what they were doing.

Then......................... spread the word mon! =D Since we're on the topic of highways......... those coastal roads that get hand-made along those looooooooong water-hugging cliffs, usually 1-tile due to the staggering amounts of dirt... y'know... specifically water-road-cliff setups..... I'd have them added to the rules under "highway" too. Thoughts?

((For the record, I haven't deeded on Xan yet, decided to go with my main directly. I stand HELLA neutral on this ores issue as a result. Any comment I make on this issue is merely treading water for common ground, as this is one of those "everyone is right and everyone is wrong" moments)) Hmmmmmmmmm..................................... only Solomonic decision I can think of at this point: Rollback Xanadu, skills will be lost, yes, sorry guy on GL-Freedom i saw had hit 40 carp already. Rollback everything BUT player locations so people can still be at the spot they wanted. Guessing a general rollback is easiest, so if people who prem'd the character lose their skills, a week of premium should compensate that time lost and paid for. ((And throw the deeding silver back into their banks, yes. Thanks for pointing out that omission, Audrel)) Those who still want THAT location can just re-deed, those who deeded specifically according to ores can re-prospect before re-deeding or moving to a new place first.
