  1. Thanks so much to whoever checked it out! The Highway system is now working, find route finally shows me all deeds connected to the Highway Here's a screenshot of the now super long deed list
  2. Instead of forcing players to work together, I would rather take the route of encouraging players to work together without locking players who prefer to play alone out of building something. For example by applying a buff of some kind to whatever is being built for each player working on it - or a buff on the players partaking, like... stamina regeneration, work speed, etc. This way it would take much longer for a solo player and gathering players would make sense. However about needing high skill - I think it would be great to have new items that need very high skill to be able to build them. It's both a goal to work towards to as well as a reason to get in contact with other players who have that skill already (without enforcing it, if you prefer to work towards it alone). This is a very good point though. We need something for the lower skill players as well. It does not only take super long to reach high skill, it's also VERY easy to get a lot of skills up to about 30-50 without reaching really high skill in anything at all, even if playing for a lot of time, so something new for high end players would only be for a small amount of people unfortunately.
  3. I can't relate on how you think lockpicking is a PVP skill. It's not even an act against another player on it's own Lots of other games have lockpicking, just naming Skyrim as an example, where you can find locked chests when exploring the world (and I'm not talking about breaking into NPC houses). WoW like you mentioned also has those chests you can randomly find, either out in the world or as loot, and the skill there does not even have a use in PvP. Here is an example what you could do if you did not want to skill lockpicking yourself: you could ask someone to unlock a chest for you that you have found in the wild, just like you would have ask around for a rogue in WoW. This is similar to any other skill in Wurm that you do not have yourself but need for anything. However, I can totally imagine also being able to bash a chest instead of unlocking it, maybe with a chance to loose some loot, since, this is a rather violent approach. This might not even need a new skill line, as we already have weapons and fighting. 🤔

Actually, I didn't get the impression from this suggestion that lockpicking would be "necessary" to clear a goblin camp - more like an additional thing for people with the skill in it, giving the skill a PvE purpose. Otherwise I could say that for example archaeology is also bad because it gives people items who have skilled it and since I did not skill it it locks me out of getting those items.

Maybe there could be a number free listings per character and the fee only kicks in once you are over that number of items in the auction house - for example, you are allowed to offer 10 items for free, if you want to list another item after that, you will have to pay a small fee to list that item. This way, newer players would have a chance to sell something without daily fees and someone doing regular business would also not have to limit themselves to just a few items being listed. That said, 3c per day still sounds too high. If you want to list multiple items and for a longer period of time, does this not have a very heavy impact? Either you're making less money than when not using the auction house just for the hope of more players buying your items, or you have to raise the price just to get any profit, which in turn might scare away potential customers. I'm not a trader myself, but this does not seem desireable.

Thanks for your reply Unfortunately it's a different issue, I'll try to explain it in more detail If I go to the Waystone on my deed and click "Find route", I only get a list of about 15 deeds instead of the list of all the deeds connected to the Highway. I can, for example, not locate Heartland, as it's not in the list of deeds and is not found when entering it manually. Schitt's Creek is on the list though, which means it's connected to the same Highway as I am. When standing at the Waystone in Schitt's Creek (there is only one), I am unable to find a route to most of the deeds. When clicking on the waystone itself, there is a pretty small list of deeds to set a route to. When clicking on one of the signs of that waystone, it shows none, as if no deed is connected to Schitt's Creek. However, the waystone IS connected to both the south and north part of the Highway. On a side note: one of the "unknown" signs is pointing to a waystone out of the deed, so I believe it should not show unknown but instead one of the neighbour deeds? 🤔 When checking the waystone directly south of Schitt's Creek, "Find route" will show a list of almost all deeds on the server connected to the Highway system, however, I can't find any deed north of Schitts Creek, such as my own. Schitts Creek however, is listed. --> This means, Schitt's Creek is connected both with the north and south, however it somehow separates the deeds connected with it. Here is a map on how the highways are laid out currently: I hope this makes sense
  11. Hi! When connecting my deed to the highway system, I ran into a really weird thing, not quite sure if this is a bug or a user error here, but I really hope you can look into it. There is a deed on Harmony called Schitt's Creek, that somehow cutts of several villages north of it from the highway system, despite being connected to both the deeds in the south and in the north. For example: When I try to find a route from my deed (Silent Desire) to the starter town Heartland, then I am not able to find it. When I am past Schitt's Creek, I can find the route to Heartland, but not back to my deed. This is the waystone in Schitt's creek connecting all others and which seems to cause the break: As you can see, there are a lots of unknowns on the waystone and you're not able to find most of the deeds (sometimes even none) when trying to find a route via this waystone. This is the waystone directly north of Schitt's Creek, showing very few deeds, while still being connected to Schitt's Creek: This is the waystone directly south of Schitt's Creek, showing all other deeds and also being connected to Schitt's Creek: Now I tried to fix this by making an alternate route where the road leads around Schitt's Creek in the east of the deed, however this does not work. Even if I remove one of the catseyes connecting Schitt's Creek to the highway (it's still connected via two other roads) there is a point where the connecting between the deeds in the south and those in the north is broken, despite there being a road with catseyes that does not lead through Schitt's Creek at all. My guess is that the the waystone in Schitt's Creek has too many connections (it has signs into 5 different directions, two of them leading nowhere) - but even if this is the case, this should not break the highway leading around the deed, so this seems to be some kind of bug? Either way I'm not really sure how to get a working connection from our deeds in the north to the deeds in the south and back without breaking the catseyes that lead to Schitt's Creek, as it seems once there is a connection to the waystone in that deed, it breaks the highway. Unfortunately I don't know who owns the deed and have not seen anyone online there who I could have talked to to try and fix this. I hope you can look into this.

  13. I agree with most of the people here, an auction house will be great for newer players or people who do not want to be overly social. Especially for the newer players though the fee for listings should not be too high. Maybe it might be a good idea to scale the fee with the quality of the item and/or enchantments and runes it has. What I want to suggest is to give an auction house a somewhat more unique touch to it. Wurm is unique in many ways and just giving it an auction house with a list of items that works like in other games (like WoW which was mentioned before) will neither do it credit, nor fit the vibe of the game and it's mechanics. This is why I also don't like the idea of it being attached to a mailbox. This just feels... weird? Another reason why connecting it to a mailbox might not be a good idea is because it can be challenging for a newer player or a small group to even get a mailbox on their deed, due to the spell needed to get it working. Why not make it connected to a market board instead, similar to the village message/recruitment boards? This would also be somewhat more immersive without making it more complicated. And since bringing forum functions to the game was mentioned - the forum does not only consist of auctions, but also of wts and wtb offers and merchant ads. It would be incredible awesome to be able to browse through all those in game. To add on to the idea of a "market board": You could offer players who want to offer their services and/or multiple items, to create a shop listing on that market board, similar to a forum thread that is listing what they want to sell. This could then both include items they have ready to send out as well as items they can make on request. To connect it to the existing system, you could add an option to pm the seller if they're online or maybe even leave an order for the seller when they're offline that they will receive once they come back online - then it would be like a more convenient ingame system where people do not have to leave the game to browse what other players offer and to buy something. Thoughts going wild here: what about actual pages bing available for markets, similar in appearance to the ingame Wurm wiki, where players could add graphics, texts, etc for their shop... You probably all know the merchant ads with nice pictures on the top, but just in case, I'll give an example (hope it's okay for the creator): Opening such an ad like this via something like a market board ingame would be like getting a flyer and reading through it, just with the option to actually directly buy something, contact the seller or maybe even find their location on the map.
  14. Why don't we get a poll in game for what is released in Wurm once in a while? A thematic like this would be perfect for that. This would reach a much wider audience and provide a better insight into what the community actually wants than people saying here that most don't like a certain cosmetic. And it would be a great way to see if the future the dev plans aligns with what the players expect to see in Wurm. Could even sent a poll out via email to prevent alt accounts to be used to vote.

  19. Oh wow, that's really a massive undertaking 😮 It looks amazing and I have to say I really love the screenshot with the profile pictures, the style fits Wurm sooo well. I'm not a Wurm historian, so I won't be of much help, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can work out the rest of this project. Please take care of yourself though, your health is much more important!
