  1. Silver Trading

So I know that Real World Money Trade is against the TOS/Rules now and I'm all for that change. Though it was nice knowing (in the past) that whatever time and effort we'd put into the game was left to our choice of what to do with it in the long-run, not that I ever participated in the RWTrading. I am curious though, is it against TOS/Rules to use in-game coin to trade for game-related (in a way) trading of say Graphics? Let me explain: As an Art Creator, is it against the Rules to offer the exchange of Graphics for Forum posts, Wurm Art, or otherwise in exchange for Silvers in Wurm? This isn't "Real Cash for Wurm Coin" trading in any form, so is this allowed?
  2. I'm not surprised the Coffers/Economy is having hiccups on the NFI. All servers use the same login server for characters, and it's the login server that handles economy business too. They had to have done some changes behind the scenes to make the login server handle two separate economies the way it does and as a result broke something for the NFI somewhere if that's the case. In the end though, expecting to be able to rely on Coffers to fund game-play as a whole is still a questionable expectation given the state of the NFI cluster no matter how you look at it. Working Coffers or not. So yes while it'd be nice to know when it'll be functional it's still in an individuals best interest to either substitute with IRL money to coin payments or participate in the Server Economy as well as the Coffers themselves (when there is Coffers to be had). The Economy (both coin and player) is much more than what was on SFI and as a result there will be less Coin to go to each individual as each pay-out method will be spread out among far more users/players than on SFI in comparison. Even if we look at "More Deeds" that still equals "More Players" which means "More Individual Payouts".
  3. This is something we've always done and have seen a few other folks do as well. Still though we find most Towers don't have coordinates listed on them and can't help but sigh a sad sigh ourselves.
  4. I'm not missing any point, this is exactly what I've been saying from the start. Less "pay-back" then on less populated servers, because more pay-out opportunities as more players look to using the method for themselves. Again, also what I've already said. Coffers are filled by Deed Funds/Upkeep, more players looking to fund their own Deeds AND their Premium time means more drain on it. Meaning it will run dry faster and will appear more "Empty" than on the old clusters. Add to that the older players who know how all of this works will truly work these methods to be awarded that payout regularly and quickly once available. I'm not saying it's a bad system.. All I'm saying is it's silly to rely solely on this method on NFI to pay completely for a Deed or Premium time. Just because some players haven't seen the Coffers available for payouts doesn't exactly mean it's Broken either, purely because of all of the points made above. Based on what we know of Wurm Unlimited, it is a monthly occurrence not a continual "Coffer Restock", so unless the coding has changed on Wurm Online for the King's Coffers this is how it is coded into the game. I highly doubt that this was something they felt the need to change for Online since they stopped updating Unlimited. I disagree that killing and burying is not significantly higher on the new servers. You have players looking to grind out their fighting skills and this is the only way to do so after you've beaten a Training Dummy into the ground. Number of Deeds may be higher, but how many of those Deeds are Large Deeds vs Small Deeds? We must remember that only a percentage of Upkeep is returned to the Coffers (as is with any coin spent via Server) and not the entire amount. As an example: If a Deed's upkeep is left at the 1 Silver maximum it could very well only be sending a few iron into the Coffers. This is information we just don't know and I certainly don't expect to get information on what that percentage really is. We also have to keep in mind that "in the past" was a whole different environment entirely. So what could be done in the past is going to function very differently now and will be that way for quite some time until the New Servers age to resemble a much more mature economy, both Player and Server wise too.
  5. I hate to break it to you, but CA's are no more than a Player with access to directly message higher-ups. CA's don't exactly get anymore insight into things than we do.
  6. That's great and all but when every player online is using this method it's slim pickings to rely solely on it to fund your Deed and your Premium time. And with the Steam release we're finding more players now than in the past who remain F2P and look to this method alone to fund both.
  7. I did say I wasn't sure about Prayer, but I HAVE gotten coin from sources that weren't Praying. Can't recall which though. I know it wasn't Selling to Token as I haven't bothered trying in a long time, even prior to the new cluster release. Regardless, my pointing out that relying on selling to a said token as only/main source of income wasn't a reliable method whether or not the coffers had coins or not. Was also my main big point for responding in the first place. No one said you had to "believe me" anyway, what happened, happened. Whether you believe it or not doesn't change a thing.
  8. You can sell your work to other players, you don't need Coffers for that. Even when Coffers do get coin, it drains quickly due to where it pays out and how many people in general there are in total. Selling to a Token for coin is extremely unreliable because of this. Coffers are filled "roughly" on a monthly basis and you can't "Speed it up" because it takes a portion of the Deed Upkeep on the server itself every month or so. Server Restarts, down-time, etc; extend this time that it takes the coffers to fill. So because the Coffers pay out in the following ways: Foraged Coins Burying Rewards Slaying Rewards Selling to a Token MAYBE praying rewards also Portion paid to Traders The amount the Coffers has isn't a whole lot to begin with, then we'll add all the players who perform all of the above actions (and some I'm probably still missing), you can imagine how quickly the Coffers would drain. I've received coins for doing some of the above actions, so that tells me that at some point there was coin in the coffers. I can't say whether there's a percentage set aside for each payout method or not, but I do know once the coffers are empty they're empty and there is no way to speed it up regaining coin in the meantime while we wait. If you're relying on in-game coin to support a Deed or Premium time the only truly reliable method is to sell items to other players. There's still many who are buying bulk items, dirt and hiring physical labor. If you're expecting to be able to support your Deed and Premium time by solely selling to a Token it's just not going to be possible this way.
  9. Just bought another 4 horses from Cista and once again a pleasure doing business. :3 Knowing me I'll be back again today for one or two, but for now I took all I could lead.
  10. The difference between "Free" and "Premium" is mainly the skill-cap. Both a Free player and a Premium player can own land, build houses, keep animals and so forth. Premium players however can raise skills over level 20 and as a result can build bigger buildings, drive different (and often better) vehicles such as larger ships, drive a horse-drawn cart (or bulls or bison if you prefer). Now Unlimited vs Online are two entirely different games. Now I say this simply because Unlimited is built around the idea of a Single Player experience, with similar structure. Unlimited does not offer all the same features that Online does, and Online is still getting new features regularly. Unlimited will no longer receive new features, but where Online gets new features that Unlimited is not. Unlimited does allow modding the client as well as Private Server hosting to the playerbase which allows settings, features, game-changing mods and so forth to be added. So deciding which route you want to take you'll need to ask yourself these few questions: Am I someone who likes the idea of playing with mods? I mean any mods, in-game minimaps, ESP mods, QoL mods, etc; Am I someone who prefers a faster gameplay = results sort of player, rather than spending several minutes to assemble a single wall of my house? Do I prefer to play entirely alone in a world, all by myself (or with just a few friends), meaning no interaction even via trading in an MMO scenerio? Am I OK with the idea that to go beyond a certain skill-cap I will either have to Pay Real Money subscription OR earn the in-game currency to obtain the Premium Character status? If most of your answers here are "Yes", you probably want to go with Unlimited. Unlimited will offer you the option of Mods, allow for a faster gameplay as well as allow you completely and entirely never have to worry about anyone else in the world for any reason (unless you join a public server). If most of your answers here are "No", but your last question was answered with "Yes" then look into Wurm Online. You never have to pay for Premium from your own pocket and I will always suggest starting with Online for the simple fact that FREE does allow you to get a feel for what the game is. If you like the type of game it is but wish it was "faster" or "had this feature" then you know Unlimited is the route you'll want to go in the end.
  11. Anchor damage

When the boat is moored with an anchor it is part of the boat. And because boats decay so slowly to begin with, the anchor responds in kind as it is one with that boat. When it's left in the hull of a boat, it's just another random item left in a container. No different than any other low QL item you may have set aside in a chest somewhere. Actually makes perfect sense to me.
  12. NFI timeline

King's Coffers are built-in with the Deed Upkeeps and it can quickly be drained again by those who frequently use the systems that cause it to payout. The Coffers aren't exactly a large sum to begin with and only a portion of the Upkeep is put into it every month or so, but it pays out for Foraging, Selling to Tokens, Burying Corpses, Hunting Mobs, etc; Any instance of which you'd randomly get a coin comes from the same Coffer pool. I've gotten one or two here and there, so it is working. The King's Coffers will accumulate more over time but the pool in which is pulls from is always non-existent to small in the beginning as the Server ages.
  13. Remember to like this post if you like what you see, a +1 post is ignored by the team. Current Observations: It seems as though 90% of the Wurm Population will use standard Horses for the majority if not all of their needs. Those who choose to use an alternative method typically choose Hell Horses as their main mode of transportation whether it's by Horse-Back or Cart/Transport pulling. Bison seem to receive very little love when it comes to much of anything! Bison are unable to be equipped with any sort of equipment and because Horses are more popular they are rarely Bred for their Traits, making them equally hard to obtain for those of us who do prefer to use a Bison for one reason or another. What I propose: Expand the Bonus a Bison receives from pulling a load to other "Large Transports" from just the wagon to also include Ship Transporter, perhaps even the Large Cart too. Bison are huge, durable beasts and should be able to pull larger loads much easier than a Horse or Hell-horse for that matter. Grant Bison other Colors Many new Horse Colors were added, making collecting all of the different coats an achievement for many Horse Breeders. Everyone appears to have their preferred Horse Coat and prefers to obtain that particular coat when obtaining a Horse for themselves Providing Bison alternative colors such as White, Black, Deep Brown, Light Brown, Grey, etc; would give Bison a variety and help add to their appeal Allow Bison to be equipped with even basic equipment Horse Shoes don't make a whole lot of sense on a Bison Bridles would be just as helpful on a Bison as they are for a Horse or Hell-horse. Bison are the only original intended Transportation Creature that cannot use a Bridle. (We're not counting the Bull here only because they are still "a cow") Give the Large Saddle a purpose again! Allow us to put a Large Saddle on the Bison! Allow us to ride Bison I was surprised to learn that Bison could in-fact not be ridden, they aren't even an option no matter what your Body Control is! I believe this also makes Bison less appealing to many players as Horses (of any kind) are a Swiss-army-knife of the Wurm World's transportation. Why have a Bison when your Horse can do everything a Bison can and then some? Conclusion: Bison were a wonderful addition and a great idea to be paired with the Wagon of course! Currently the Wagon bonus is barely enough reason to make them a viable option and as is hardly worth obtaining for that purpose alone. I feel our "Fluffy Cows" need some serious love to make them a viable option and a loved and welcome member to any Deed. Even half of these proposed suggestions I feel would allow the Bison to "claim more real estate" on Deeds and in our daily lives than they do now. We have a member of our Deed who has been playing Wurm with us for many years now and he loves his "Fluffy Cows". We are all saddened to see that he is only able to use them on his Cart and not able to be excited as the rest of us are when a new color appears in our Herd, his Bison just don't have that to offer him. 14. I agree with a Shared Sleep Bonus across servers. In the sense that it works like the skills themselves. The previous method of "Gain Sleep Bonus on a Server you are not active on" was abused horribly and thus removed because of it. Now making the Sleep Bonus gained/earned/used or whatever persist just as your skills do would be ideal entirely. I'm surprised to hear it doesn't already and doesn't make sense that it doesn't.
  15. Server Crossing

It was only intended as a "Would it be possible" not "Hey lets do it!" xD You know, as in the Land WAS there to actually do so...
  16. Server Crossing

Well, I have decided you are all no fun and this discussion was a moot point to try to have. 😕
  17. Server Crossing

Only a discussion as to whether Wagon or Cart is possible to be dragged/driven across a border as is, right now. No changes made, whether the change would be made, or otherwise. I had managed to build a way to drive/drag my cart across the server border and onto a piece of land on another server. Do you think that would work? I think a lot of you are taking this completely out of context here from what my original thought/question.
  18. Server Crossing

Could've been tried in a small scale, you did say that the one rock on Deli (or something) was made into a fair sized island, that would be enough to test said theory, wouldn't it? I wouldn't expect anyone to spend years building said land bridge just to test this sort of thing, but a theory is just that. But what makes you say that? Boats go, People go, what's to say a Wagon or a Cart couldn't go too? It is also a vessel just like a Ship. "Mechanics don't support it" is that simply because there is no actual physical way to do so or something in the code that otherwise says "Wagon/Cart cannot transport this way". Nevermind the creatures pulling it, if I were to say Drag this Wagon or Cart across the border then. Sorry but I need more than just "game mechanics don't support it" explain to me why you feel that way.
  19. Server Crossing

So it's actually been tried to drive a wagon/cart across a border? With land on either side to actually drive on? It would make sense if it was prevented because there would be no land to place the wagon/cart onto when it crossed borders sure, but assuming that said driveable space was available on both sides.
  20. Server Crossing

It's not random, all server's are linked by a designated border. You can just plot course so that it doesn't matter which border you hit. I got to thinking about this possibility simply because right now I have no way to transport large items of say Crates, Creatures or otherwise via boat. I do however have a Wagon. So if land-travel in said manner from say Harmony's Western Border to Cadence's Eastern Border via Land-Bridge were even possible. Whether or not constructing said land-bridge was in the cards or not is irrelevant. I realize it would be a whole butt-load of immeasurable amounts of dirt and bridges. But the feasible possibility of being able to achieve such a thing. 🤔
  21. Server Crossing

So it recently dawned on me, what if there was a Land-Bridge created to reach the edge of a server's border. Would it then be possible to cross the server's border by Wagon, Foot or Cart? Since the only reason it is currently "impossible" to do so is the lack of actual land to travel by.

  23. I will never understand folks who want to get mad with someone else calling them out for attempting to change their gameplay. What you're wanting here isn't effecting you, but it is effecting someone else and they're calling you out on it. You have no room here to push against someone else who is effected by a change vs yourself who isn't. I also find it funny that these people who are wanting "Faster breeding" aren't breeders themselves. They're users. And yes, they're viewing Horses as a Tool. Which on one hand, yes they are. On the other, no they aren't. Horses are a creature, an animal a "living thing" (forget that we're talking pixels here) and yet we are wanting to treat them identically to something that's cranked out quickly at a Forge. From what's been said, horses are already being cranked out like weapons at a forge (with a slightly reduced rate) over on Defiance. The difference being "longer cooldown" and yet we want to eliminate that cooldown? For what? So they can be run off to their death/destruction faster? Hey, I heard Bison are pretty beastly Tanks. Why don't you switch to Bison instead of a Horse. They're less likely to die... If death is your issue. But unless you participate directly in the thing you're wanting to change (Breeding) don't go trying to change it. Just because you benefit from the outcome. That'd be like me, a PvE player saying that all Rite of Spring casts need to be able to grant that sweet 5hr Sleep Bonus to ALL players regardless of whether we're a follower or not. Or that creatures need to be dropping more Hides because I can't "leatherwork" fast enough due to the shortage right now on Harmony... Quoting whole sentences but taking them out of context is common practice for folks trying to pull only what they want to and twist it for their own argument. This post is off-topic too sir! BunnBunn has been ontopic this entire thread, but if you're only reading the quotes from Votip you wouldn't see that because of the "picking apart" in the quoting.
