  1. Ma Babe!

    She's kinda... fat.
  2. There's quite a bit of difference between running a paid service and having quests at your house. Online forums tend to be the first place people go to when they have a complaint about a service/product. Not to speak to a representative, but to see if there are more people who have the same complaint, or to spread awareness about the issue. In terms of complaints and criticism, this place is actually fairly mild. Moderators/developers on the world of warcraft forums used to occasionally recieve death threats. Moderators didn't even bat an eyelash. Some dude says Rolf is doing a bad job (and provides arguments, which if I may add is about a hundred times more effort than the average internet troll would put into their post), and then Rolf is posting about how much he had to restrain himself to not ban said person. Jeah, I'm sorry. How much more unprofessional can you get?
  3. I don't see any kind of personal attack at all. I see someone who dares to step forward and say things the way they are. Rolf is a great guy, but this game doesn't get better by licking his boots and telling him it's okay when he screws up. He's a grown man, he should be able to take criticism. Fact is that what he did was just a terribly dumb thing to do. So what, the answers were spoilers. Who cares? The entire wiki can be regarded a spoiler, because that's what a wiki is for. It spoils things. It gives you answers to things that you can't be bothered to find out ingame. Whether it be crafting recipes, skill mechanics or answers to pseudophilosophical questions.
  4. TOP NEWS: Jeb takes control of Wurm Online development, merges with minecraft. Millions cry out in pain. [/stupidJoke] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKI-tD0L18A&list=FLSHvXlvoiWlXPqKlw0n6GQg&feature=mh_lolz
  5. Because there's nothing more fun than getting to participate in a course of pseudo philosophy that essentially nets you a hefty ban from advancing/participating in that activity if you get the question wrong. Even better when the rewards for participating are so high that you are essentially forced to give it a try if you want to stay competitive. In gaming terms this is like giving a sword of Infinity+1 to people that finish a course of flowerpicking, because the developer is quite fond of flowers.
  6. Hey Rolf, maybe I'm way in the wrong here, but don't the 'physics' of multistory buildings also lend itself to bridges? Both add a 3D element to an otherwise 2.5D world. The same goes for climbable guard towers, ofcourse. And hey, let's not forget those awesome castle pieces we've seen in the sneak preview progress thread.
  7. A problem with Wurm in it's current form may be that there are simply too many servers for the playerbase. The community is what keeps these games going. If you spread it out too thin, people get bored and start leaving.
  8. I suggest you guys make a thread in the suggestions forums where you post you ideas for future items/gifts (if there isn't one already). Rolf has picked suggestions like that in the past and implemented them.
  9. They could make them the 2011 Christmas gift for the Epic servers.
  10. Make it so cavebugs can't dig through tiles that are within an X tile range of a supported rock tile. That way, people worried about the aesthetic of their mines can place support beams to stop bugs from tunneling around. If they care about their mine's looks, they'd be placing support beams anyway.
  11. I told newbies that there was an invisible monster at night who would chase and kill people who didn't stay close to lightsources. I've never seen so many scared people huddled around a campfire.
  12. Griefing

There's a difference between stealing as a form of griefing, and profiting off someone else's stupidity. Stealing as a form of griefing is bashing a fence and grabbing everything that's not nailed down, which should be a bannable offense. Profiting of someone else's stupidity is finding a decayed house with a lot of goods, begging to be taken. It depends on someone's code of 'honor' whether they would choose to profit from the latter. Personally I see if there's anything worth taking and grab it. If you leave it there, it'll probably rot away just like the house. Consider it like you would in real life. Breaking into someone's house is obviously a criminal offense, but picking up someone's lost wallet and keeping for yourself is not. 'Finders keepers' springs to mind. It's really a mindset of the more oldschool RPG gamers, I think. Back when fantasy worlds really were a free for all environment, and kids weren't pampered by GM's taking care of their every inconvenience. If you really care about your stuff, keep it safe and don't leave it lying around.
  13. I love the way how it looks at you is like: "50ql? Really? That the best you can do? tsk, tsk..."
  14. tame/charm - nope I doubt they can be dominated either. You could destroy a small armada of ships with a couple of those animals.
