  1. Make them fire only if mob density is over a certain threshold, more of a mob population control thing than a defence mechanic. It would be very welcome in north Xanadu
  2. -1 I like the current names, although some new names would be welcome. What about being able put collars on animals and the name of the collar is displayed when you examine the animal? If the animal has a collar you could also lead several of them on the same rope (not mooring rope).

  5. Writing the OP was probably more work than fixing the rope "bug". It's how development works sometimes, you happen to be working on some area of the code, item property database or whatever and you might as well fix some small issues while you are at it. I don't think these changes mentioned are that confusing really. the rope thing is clearly a non intended feature, why would mooring rope be superior to a normal rope, it's obviously a bug. The bug was kind of nice, but that is another thing. Maybe they can add a proper feature now that they see the demand for it. The wall rotation is a bit strange but totally understandable. Easy fix for an otherwise quite hard to solve coding problem. I do agree that they could have spent a little more time on it and required some kind of tool etc. but it works pretty well as it is. Being able to chnage wall type in a similar way is just silly. You could re-model your house every day then, that's not intended here. The intention is to be able to use the new wall types independent of the direction.
  6. I don't like it, I think in general it is a curse. But I do not think it is possible to stop it, if people want to buy/sell they will do regardless. What this game lacks though is some evolving skills, it's very rare that new skills comes out and those same top tier accounts stay top tier year after year. Look at other MMOs, a top tier account is suddenly an average account the minute a new expansion comes out. This is why this curse affects Wurm a lot more than other games.
  7. Wow, best news in a long time!!! I love the new friends list options. I hope at the same time you fixed some bugs as well, like friends disappearing from the list when you switch servers and such.
  8. When I got my first trader, definitly, they were very profitable a few years ago. Now they are not anymore, so that option is pretty much gone. But now a few years later with pretty good skills I earn most of my money from selling gear on a merchant. You do need 2 active accounts to make good money though, crafter + priest, so there is an investment in RL money for premium time. But I think the game developers are worth that I bought 10s once, to start a deed and maybe 5s more at some point in the beginning, but after that I haven't bought anything in the shop. Just premium time. Starting out today, you have to rule out traders, but on the other hand there are other means of earning money now, like selling to token, foraging and hunting. So, a combination of that + working for people should be enought to maintain a small deed. If you want to earn monet quickly, try to focus on your skill grinding rather than deeding though, if you can do t without getting too bored. Oh, yes and scavenging can be really profitable too. Or at least you can find some tools laying around that are much better than what you could craft yourself in the beginning. Other than that, try to make some friends, socialize. Trying to make it all on your own will be far more work than woking togehter with a few others or getting help from some nice people, there are plenty of helpful people in this game that could help you get started. For experienced players it's really not much effort to supply a new player with some tools or in other means help them out.
  9. Higher base speed for boats seems like a better solution. Horses don't need to be faster. 30+ km/h is enough. Uphill speed I guess could be a bit buffed if anything. But I guess, if speeds are increased, lag needs to be fixed as well, those graphics mem leaks or whatever they are. Travelling 10 min, re-logging to get rid of lag etc. not fun...

    I think the balconies and jetties are too tiny to look realistic, they look like they could house some small birds, not humans... I like the idea, and they do look ok otherwise, just too tiny,
  11. Dragging other peoples carts off deed, while it can be abused, I think should be possible. It's nice to be able to clean up an area, hide abandoned carts in mines etc. I'd like to see animals un-hitch themselves after a week or so also, it's annoying as it is now when a cart with hitched animals can stay for months without anyone being able to remove it. Taking someone's cart on deed is another matter, that should not be possible. Some people try to trick others by creating carts, placing them on other people's deeds or out in the open and even transfering ownership to someone else and then coming back later to steal things from them when they are being used by someone who found the cart. It' seems possible somehow in case you are the creator of the cart. It is safest to always use carts that you made yourself or made by someone you really trust.
  12. I disbanded a deed and later realized I had a trader on another deed that was sitizen of the first deed and thus got deleted, this trader was just a few months old. I raged for a while then decided to buy a new trader, some months later traders were nerfed, Xanadu opened etc. Result being lots of lost silver and a trader that doesn't make any money (almost).

  15. Things I would like to buy from traders: Nothing Everything should be craftable or skill based. Ok, Merchants could stay on traders but other than that, pretty much nothing.
  16. I think clusters should take turns being open. This way we can force people to play something they don't want to for almost 70% of their time!

  19. Mob count on Xana

    Agree with Countzero and Ayes. The spawn is way too high in NW Xanadu. I can't imagine how hard it must be for new players in this region. It's ok when you have fast horses, high FS and good gear but if you don't I guess you have to stay close to guards and templars.

    Very nice! Although I think it look very unrealistic with such thin stone arch. But prbably it's work in progerss and will be improved before release.
  21. They are on vacation in the North then. We have so many mobs up here we don't need to go hunting anymore, we can just stand in the same tile and mobs come to us in a constant stream. I live in NW part and can't go outside my house without getting attacked by trolls, hellhounds or whatever. Sure it is nice FS, but it gets tedious when everything you do inclludes 50% fighting.
  22. -1 If you want this you can move to south Xanadu. North parts could use some toning down on aggros though, it's hard to have time to do any work on roads etc. because you have to fight half of your playing time...
  23. nice idea! This would make it possible to block people from getting to on deed parts of a large mine, very useful. PvP wise this would be too aweful though, too much defensive power, unless it is easily destroyed. Anyway, +1
  24. I own 3 traders currently, I have had up to 5 of them during the years. I've made the investment, I'm not judging anyone, traders have been a part of Wurm and free to use however you like. I still think the new system is better for the game. But it needs removal of trader draining completly, at least on Xanadu, and getting money from foraging is a bit strange I can agree, selling to token and killing mobs makes more sense.
