  1. Defenders had advantage before the mine door change and after it the advantage just got increased. If you look at historical sieges then you see that good sieges also have defenses for if the besieged party sallies out. The latest change on minedoors took away this option in game and somehow it needs to be rebalanced. A timer on leaving deed might not be ideal but at least it is a constructive proposal as opposite to lots of nay saying only because they see the op is member of an opposing kingdom.

  3. If you can't be bothered with making or finding a bed then you do not deserve sleep bonus in the first place.
  4. How do you "accidently" end up in Chaos? I get several warnings in event log that I approach a server border so you have enough time to change course, if people fail to respond to that then they should take the responsibilities for their actions.

  6. I actualy wonder who decided this new sound when is better than the old. I've met noone yet who even finds it a slight improvement, it is just a failure.
  7. I like the idea, I would add to the channel locks so people can overcome height differences. However I think creating rivers takes a lot of developping resources and it is hard to guess the impact on the current maps.
  8. There are already ingame trees, like the birch, that should grow on sand grounds. It would be better to make that more realistic first plus the in game climate does not justify palm trees and cacti.
  9. Pve'ers may not run around with the nice colours of the pmk's unless they earn them/pay the pmk's for them. Which means you can only get them on pvp servers.
  10. I think in extension to this that metals (and rocks) should be made like wood. All have some different characteristics but you can do everything with it you can do with the other metal sort.
  11. Why are you looking at masonry to make concrete?
  12. 1) A smaller server does not make more pvp. It clutters people, they will not be able to set anything up and thus you will have a higher drop op. The result is a status quo. 2) What makes for more pvp are more factions and players. More factions means more conflicts, more players means more combattants to resolve the conflicts. 3) Chaos is not a large server by any means. It takes you maybe 2 hours to travel from west to east. In WWIIOL you are barely halfway then. 4) If you want to see the face of your enemy all the time go live next to him, nothing stops you setting up your deed in the middle of enemy lands. pvp guaranteed. Second option is to defend when you are under attack somewhere. 5) You are just going to dumb the game down that way with instant action. Wurm is no instant action game, patience and dedication are a necessity. There are other games for people who need instant action. 6) You are taking away the ability for the game to grow. The size of Chaos is one of its strong points, it allows for the player population to grow to acceptable numbers. 7) The best thing Chaos has is that it offers everything another freedom server has with on top of that the ability to fight players and kingdoms. It just is the complete package of Wurmonline, the rest is either paying the full pice for half the content or going easymode. Forcing Chaos in just a combat zone would even increase travel distances, making the world actualy feel larger instead of smaller. Not the size of the server is the issue here, the size of the population is. Besides that, resetting Chaos would do nothing either. You will have the same people joining and grouping together again with maybe just less people overall.

  14. You cannot change just one little thing. You either do a full overhaul of all armour and weaponry or you keep your hands of it, this just shows some people don't know what they are doing.

    Certain people have not the capacities to deal with a situation where they have no arguments to counter a point someone else made, instead of accepting they cannot make a decent response or step away they start playing the man instead of the ball. That type of person you can find in almost every discussion, in this case hypocrit too, doing what you accuse another of. At least you have another post on your record, as you imply the importance of that, but how is this discussion relevant to someone playing on Independence?

    Ciray has a very good point with the lag. Basicly it comes down to lag issues, silly looking pvp and a complete lack of marketing. Other things can just be nice to have, being of minor importance next to those, but these 3 things are a necessity to attract many and new players and keep them. If you do net tell the world about your product, then don't expect the world knowing about it.

    Quickly scanned through the topic, not realy adding new ideas. PvP is based on kingdoms and all you have is FI (not even a kingdom worth the name), BL (that is just a poor upgraded FI) and JK & MR. You need at least a 3rd real kingdom. Chaos basicaly comes down to MR vs JK. Make pvp look decent and then invest in an addvertising campaign and you'll get more people. I like the idea of balancing weapons and armour on the rock-paper-scissors principle. Different weapons and armour need to have clear different advantages and disadvantages. Plate armour should not be able to use archery. More diversity, more choices, more players. I also like the idea of chaning the HotA to all over the map. But would just make the pillars drop all over the map and be locatable by priests and if close enough by pendulum, or let them shine up the sky like the bone and white light altars. The fixed location of HotA means if you do not border to it you have to fight your way to it. Reduce decay on traps, make small catapults dragable by horses like a cart (just weird to see random catapults across the map) and equipable on larger boats, make chain barding hamper the horse wearing it less (or at least strong/fast horses) Don't make people and creatures walk through each other. You cannot walk through someone else on the street, you will bump into him, same should be in game. That will reduce 'ganking' like someone wrote.
