  1. Finally figured out what was wrong. These new Samsung laptops that have a Radeon Graphics card have a "feature" called "Configure Switchable Graphics"... THis is accessed by right clicking the desktop and selecting it from the menu. This feature allows you to set graphics performance per application. Java was set to "Unassigned" so either was set to a very low graphics power setting or maybe even offloaded to the onboard Intel Graphics card... Running Wurm, then going in and selecting "High Performance" instantly fixed the issue. Not sure why Samsung or Ati / AMD thinks this "feature" was such a hot idea...
  2. Like all Laptops that have a secondary card, this has an Intel oboard card and an Ati / AMD Radeon. (Or Nvidia I guess if you went that route...) I disabled vbo and have the exact same problem.
  3. Nothing? Am I in the wrong place for technical support? Where / who should I be contacting?
  4. I disabled sound in the settings in the wurm client all together and it still crashes...

  12. The end to this conversation might very well be: The word "science" itself is simply the Latin word for knowledge: scientia. Until the 1840's what we now call science was "natural philosophy," so that even Isaac Newton's great book on motion and gravity, published in 1687, was The Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy (Principia Mathematica Philosophiae Naturalis). Newton was, to himself and his contemporaries, a "philosopher." In a letter to the English chemist Joseph Priestley written in 1800, Thomas Jefferson lists the "sciences" that interest him as, "botany, chemistry, zoology, anatomy, surgery, medicine, natural philosophy [this probably means physics], agriculture, mathematics, astronomy, geography, politics, commerce, history, ethics, law, arts, fine arts." The list begins on familiar enough terms, but we hardly think of history, ethics, or the fine arts as "sciences" any more. Jefferson simply uses the term to mean "disciplines of knowledge." Far more believable than saying LOL NO SCIENCE WITHOUT PHILOSOPHY. No, only that Science and Philosphy go hand in hand. Also, Science has its ROOTS in philosophy. In my opinion, you can not have one without the other as Science relies on Theories and speculation often times that must be debated with pure thought and philosphical debate. (ie The big bang theory)
