  1. I feel as though it definitely comes down to a lack on incentive to do so and for those who have tried, the difficulty to sometimes access the things you need to actually fully test something. There are definitely ways for the Test server to be better leveraged as a tool. However, whether it's possible to do so with a primarily volunteer staff is probably the real hurdle here.
  2. In before I bid 25 gold. (there's a reason why you don't pre bid up to a cap lmao) Seriously though 70s bid.
  3. I think it's fair to say that for most skills the difference between 90 and 99 is minimal and what difference there is would be hardly worth the time investment compared to the return unless yo have a specific goal or outcome desired. Such as digging (increase your max slope), carpentry (max height and size for plans) etc. The only time where it probably is worth the effort to really exceed 90 is with crafting skills if you plan on selling 90ql gear on the market. Imping to 90ql with only 90 skill can be quite arduous and getting to 93-95 skill helps this quite a lot in my own observations.
  4. I'd ride a unicorn if they weren't so impractical.

    Rare Large Wooden Shield please
  6. There is legitimate reasons as already stated why someone might choose to allow PM bids on their auction item. Including but not limited to: They may wish to remain anonymous. This can be anything from buying a surprise birthday present for a friend, purchasing PvP related items or being a staff member. (your ingame name used to give a bid being listed is no hinderance to this) The seller wants to open up the auction to as many buyers as possible. As such they wish to allow people without forum accounts to bid. You are correct that there is a perceived lack of transparency with auctions like this and any potential auctioneers should always be mindful of this. I strongly believe though that this should always be up to the discretion of the auctioneer as it is both impractical and unimportant to police restrictions or limitations for auctions for the moderation/GM team it's self. However I would give the same advice to someone participating in Wurm auctions the same advice for Real life ones: Only ever attend/participate an auction where you trust the auctioneer/seller. Research or background check historic sales and auctions for similar items prior to bidding as this will give you a foundation of what to expect and help spot abnormalities. Always assign a hard value to an item you intend to bid on which will become your bidding cap. That way you will only spend what you can afford and what you perceive the fair value of the item is. Do not allow yourself to be caught up in impulsive or emotional bidding. If you suspect price manipulation, simply withdraw from the bidding. You can't prove it and chances are you never will, protect yourself but also be gracious because abnormalities do happen legitimately and you don't want to burn bridges. At the end of the day, any player run economy such as Wurm will ALWAYS have as you phrase it "a chance or environment" for people to call foul play. However it is the nature of the beast and personally am totally fine with that.
  7. I do not believe that one day Wurm might become human.
  8. Should be interesting to see what Microsoft does next. Seems like it's gunna be no longer a question of Xbox VS Playstation but Microsoft VS the world at this rate.
  9. I think the most important thing to understand about Wurm is that it has never had a clear vision or end goal of what it wants to become. As such over the best part of two decades the vision of what Wurm could be has changed, both from the perspective of those involved since the beginning and the fact that there has been natural turnover of artist and developers. All of whom have had their hand in shaping what we know today based off of their unique perspective of what Wurm meant to them and what "fit" in the game world. Some examples of this include but aren't limited to; - At one point Rolf envisioned not having any PvE at all and a free for all PvP game (which failed after implementation and caused the closure of JK-H and MR-H) - Tich's cooking system is quite unique because of the very specific vision Tich had for what the game could be. This system isn't really replicated anywhere else in terms of depth, complexity of mechanics (besides fishing which was create on the foundation of a Tich system). - Rolf and Notch disagreeing about the implementation of mythical creatures. "We will never add Dragons" - Notch. Spoiler alert - we got Dragons, perhaps ironically so did Minecraft. Overall I think it's probably fair to say to look at what Wurm is compared to what it was "meant" to be is an impossible exercise because there's no real answer. Try not to over think it.
  10. I do not believe Wurm Online is referencing any particular time or age from the real world. Instead I believe it would be much more accurate to say that Wurm Online is referencing typical MMO/RPG/MUD lore and style. Which is why it has a variety of many different influences, none of which are consistent with a specific style, era or culture from history. I would also strongly argue that Wurm is a Fantasy MMORPG because it incorporates it's own mythology and magic into it's lore and game mechanics.
  11. Can we talk about VR Wurm Online for Steam please.
