If its cared for by you. You should still be able to go "c" right clkck the hand or body icon in bottom corner go manage animals and select its name and go get directions.

It is possible it may of died then yoh may need  gm to help locate your gear.

If you need. Horse feel free to comemby Bastets Bazaar(O14) I normlly give away aged horses for free to anyone

You can get directions on a branded animal, not on a cared for one (sadly).

If you still have it in your Manage animals menu, it means it's alive somewhere, for a reason or another (lost/forgotten, stripped by its gear and let loose, or simply taken by someone with the intent of keeping it).

You should keep asking in your Freedom chat for a bit, and if you don't get it back, you can stop caring for it; I'm sure you will find another horse and players will help you with some gear.

I'll take that shameless thief off your hands and forcibly enlist him in my gnomes's army. It is a considerable army, I promise. I also enlisted some other notorious thieves, like Nomadikhan's ones, who stole thousands of crops from them.

They're all rehabilitated now and living their best lives. Send me a pm :D

    For conformity:

    Spoiler

Some 30+ others are in various missions or guarding vital points on my deed.

Your thief will be forever in good company!!

  3. Weta were the cutest and one of the best mounts, although their innate ability to get stuck on slopes was deadly :D.

For me, they are also the best memory I have from Jackal. I don't miss the server, but I miss weta, giant crabs (they looked amazing) and the trees (and their wood types).

I support an idea that would bring them back, even in a limited form; worth noting weta would blend so well with the Rifts, being a creature of Jackal themselves.

  4. Each map has a cap of creatures, aggro and "farm animals"; the cap doesn't make a difference between wild and bred ones. Therefore, if on a server breeding (and hoarding, although I don't like the term) goes to extremes, there is little to no space for wild life to spawn.

Moreover, players will often go out of their way to kill any wild horses and donkeys, both to make sure their bred animals are thriving and to force non-breeders to buy animals from them.

Is not exactly a matter of suggestion - a server can only hold a certain number of animals before becoming too laggy and/or with additional technical issues (mind me, I'm not an expert, I'm only trying to piece together bits of info I got over the years), but rather a kind request for the community to slow down on breeding and on killing wild horses.

  5. Cadence has a nice pen with horses left there by established players (mostly babies, but often also mature +); the pen is just outside Sonata, is impossible to miss it. And there are some other places around certain deeds, but I don't know where specifically those are, you would have to ask in Freedom for more details.

For what is worth, probably every server on NFI has players willing to give away a couple horses; you just need to ask.

This thread isn't exactly a suggestion, it would do more good if it was in your server's section, if you would let us know where you play :)

  6. Unsealing barrels (both small or wine barrels) while there's something on them will give a message stating the wax seal is removed (although they're sealed with a peg).

Unsealing them when nothing is on top will give the regular peg message.

  7. Unfortunately, Give Directions works only for branded 4legged people, which can be located through it by the 2legged people with permissions.

Cared for means the animal will show in your animals list if is still alive (extra indicator besides /caringfor check), but will not offer a direction unless the animal is also branded.

  8. The horse is still hitched to the cart, that's why you couldn't lead it; caves are weird, animals are glitching to surface while still hitched to a vehicle inside; it happens when you move them way too close to an entrance, rock wall or ore vein.

If you do not unhitch them, but instead try to command the cart, you will notice it can move pulled by an invisible animal, until you leave the cave.

If you unhitch the invisible animals, they can end up in the wall and require being mined out or rescued by a GM or, in worst cases, they die suffocated in the rock.

You do not need to lead an animal to brand it, although some will have to be tamed/charmed/dominated before you can brand them. You cannot brand a hitched animal or while someone is mounted on it.

Caring for an animal gives you no ability or priviledge over that animal; the one and only thing it does is to extend its natural life indefinitely, for the time it is cared for (it does not prevent death by other causes: starvation, disease, wounds etc).

I learnt about how not to get scammed online through that game the hard way... RIP to my 2005 mithril pickaxe.

RIP my first addy breastplate to the swarm of tiny insects in Falador's mole lair .. I miss those days more than I thought I will, when I left the game in 2012, but there's nothing left there as good as in the back old days.
