  1. Sloping sands

I spent my newb months living just outside the North perimeter in a cave as well. The birch trees were great for making things and the templars were already ready to save my butt from the hordes of spiders that used to be around there. Not very friendly for new players to hang out around now.
  2. Hi, Please COD Shovel, Iron - 90.06ql - 93 Wind of Ages - 1.85s - Added (9/14/2015) thanks, Caroligan
  3. I will continue plodding along until the Wurm servers go dark. If all that is left is WU, I'll find something else to do. I do appreciate that Rolf & Dev's are keeping the 2 separate. I see the WU as being a flash in the pan for the majority of gamers who appreciate a challenge in what they do as having the ability to run in "God Mode" (IDDQD, IDKFA ruined Doom for me) gets boring very quickly. By keeping them apart I can still grind away as I have been. On the other hand, it may have the Wurm Sandbox experienced by a larger potential market base and those that are looking for the challenge, will migrate to Wurm proper and learn just how gnarly the huge spiders can be when you are running about naked and afraid. It will be interesting to watch how Wurm and WU evolve. Will they grow as one and create a symbiotic, mutually beneficial game environment? Or, will one leach the energy out of each other and send it to the round bin of gamers Hell? Maybe both? Good luck, I'll just keep digging and building until the lights go out.
  4. I like the new rules, but then sometimes I hate the new rules. It's situational and depends on the people you run into. For example, building highways connecting starter towns or traversing harsh terrain is generally a good thing for the server as a community. However one asshat can come along and drop a deed in the path just because he/she feels they own that part of the server. Hate that. Other example, a virtual tree-hugger 1.) can't stand the sound of chopping, 2.) feels they must protect the forest and all the wee critters in it. So, they make a 1x1 shack every so many tiles and fence in the entire 200x200 tile area, with no deed in sight (old enclosure rule). Under the new rules, bashing down those fences is no longer griefing. I like this. Does this mean I go an bash any undeeded fence I come across? No, I have better things to do with my time. Bottom line. The only way in PVE to grief someone is to use the letter of the rules to your advantage in that particular situation. Both of the above situations are examples of using the rules for griefing purposes to satisfy an individual power trip or perceived entitlement issue. No one is safe and everyone loves it when the rules work out for them, then they cry a river when they are denied. The rules can't always help you and arbitrary GM moderation leads to suckin up to the GM to get your way. Speak softly and carry a GM in your pocket, so to speak. The rules are the rules. This keeps the GM's neutral and the game as fair as possible to all, not a select few. So far the GM's seem to have handled the exceptional jackasses that overly abuse the rules. Unfortunately, on PVE, that's about the best you can expect.
  5. Congrats Maxthx! Cranefly and Dreago salute you!
  6. If you're going to post the rule, post the exceptions as well. 1> Deeds retain the right to modify pavement type or format on their deed tiles to suit the design of the deed as long as a clear flow of traffic is maintained.
  7. I moved a token 8 tiles to the west, not knowing my son, Dreago, would lose his 4, yes 4, traders. 2g later from The Shop I had thought I fixed my error and made him whole... unfortunately 1 month later traders got nerfed. He doesn't play anymore
  8. My neighbors were a great help when I first started, except two who turned out to be paranoid psychotics. Then I spent a lot of time asking questions and having people in fchat yell at me for bothering them by not using CA or wiki, not all, but many. So I went to the CA channel and wiki and haven't turned back. The CA's want to be there and the wiki doesn't troll you or start an argument over your dumb questions interrupting their selling or one-up-manship... +20 to the neighbors, CA's and Wiki.
  9. Is there a way to reset or manually change the tax % a trader sends to your deed after it has been placed and previously set?
  10. Due to new RL schedules I am pulling back a bit on my delivery services. Weekends are pretty much completely open, with prior arrangement and at least 24 hours notice. Weeknights are dependent on distance and weather pattern.
  11. The treasure hunt would be cool. We were just talking about that in Xanadu kchat last week.
