  1. I see no harm in it. If you mine rock shards there should be no difference where you do it. Abundance of gems? Seeing how people mostly only SM if they have to, I doubt it would become the new gem farming method, but who knows. Besides, ore veins give you multiple thousands of actions yet we aren't flooded with gems. And I think the vast majority of gems come from praying anyway.
  2. Looks like classic turf war, but since she's placed a deed, you're pretty much busted there. I bet no GM will ever say that you should have a word on what someone else does or does not with or on his/her deed.

  7. I think you misunderstood something there. I (and I guess most people) have a problem with trolls bashing your fences while you are offline - and only "for fun" - which results in your animals escaping, or if its offdeed people stealing everything you have in there. Please explain to me how is that good or required? It has absolutely nothing to do with survival as there is a good chance you aren't even there when it happens. I don't mind trolls being tough, I'm even fine with them bashing fences when chasing someone, but I heavily dislike them ruining my work without me having any reasonable chance to prevent it (having 3+ guards only for this is not reasonable).
  8. So you only have to make multiple fence layers around your deed and have 70 fs + a drake set. And here I thought there was something wrong with this... That alone that you describe "good" deed planning based on troll protection ability shows how broken this mechanic is. Sure on epic you fence around the deed anyway, but I personally love it that on freedom you don't have to. Anyway, this thread clearly shows that there are people who hate the bashing an there are others who say "deal with it". No one said a single a word about how or why is it good or required. To sum it up: Serves no purpose. No one likes it. Remove it! PS.: By serves no purpose I mean that officially it's there to prevent people penning aggros, yet this only stops you penning those that actually bash, plus you can still pen them on islands. Just let them freely cross fences/doors and there's a grief-free solution for the same thing. If the intention was to make troll/fiend more dangerous than it fails, cause they are only more annoying now. The only thing this does is causing damage without any reason. And if it's really a fund raising effort than Rolf should just drop it and double deed upkeep instead. That's way too cheap anyway IMO (just compare the "value" of a 10s upkeep deed to having a premium account).
  9. Who cares whether you can repair the damage or not? That is not the point. By that logic Rolf could add NPC's that randomly brake into your storage and steal/destroy everything. Because you see, you CAN replace it all. What matters is that this mechanic results in you having to do things that you don't want to and that are not only not fun but simply annoying. Replacing randomly bashed down structures only makes you think "Why do I have to do this?" or if you also lost animals "*!%/&#*% Rolf!". Looking at your screwed up mine automatically triggers the second. The real question is why would Rolf ever want to have such a mechanic in his game? Ruining the fun of players is bad for business. There are surely better ways to make some extra income than griefing your own player base.

  12. No. And it seems to me some people imagine unmoderated chat as a place where you can swear all you want, but in reality unmoderated means you can talk about anything in any shape or form, which can be good for a freak show but highly non-functional as a chat.
  13. Chat moderation should never focus on language, that's what filters are for. Turn off the filter and it's not moderated in that sense. IMO moderation is needed when: - people try to dodge the filters (turn it off if you don't like it but respect those who want it on) - some obvious topics pop up - clear cases of spamming And believe me, you don't want the chat to be completely unmoderated unless you are one of the trolling cool kid wannabes. I've played games with officially unmodded chat and such can easily turn into something like the deepest pits of 4chan.
