  1. Little notes for anyone considering building an underground waterway: Sailboats require 6 slope depth to sail in and out of an entrance way (or to just sail in general really) Mine entrances that are being created for underground waterways/harbors should be started around 6-8 slope in the water if possible, letting you sail right into your mine : ) I highly suggest doing pathing along the sides of waterways, ie, for a 1 tile wide water path, mine out 3 wide, 1 for path, 1 for transition to water, and one for the water itself. I will post some pics later on as to what my harbor in progress looks like, and if anyone has any questions please let me know, I'll try to be as helpful as possible.
  2. Dont worry FM I got this one: Look here carebears, you guys suck, you should be totally hardcore like me and be on wild. I rule, end of story.
  3. Very much yes. Definitely want one of these in front of the entrance to my underground harbor.
  4. I think my earlier idea of flagging them so that they could be chased cross server would be better still, since that doesn't make people have to stay on one server or the other.
  5. Ouch that no clearcutting thing makes me unable to help out as well
  6. Or maybe we should be able to drag them or put them on rafts if not on our boats?
  7. This was done to limit the non-prems ability to make large boats solo I think, and masts were already changed once. (originally you'd have to have 27 body strength to make a mast for a small sailing boat.)
  8. After reading through this whole thread, one clear thing sticks out to me: Doughboy is mad (and rightfully so) that anyone with overthetop stats/equip can come on over from MR-Home (and we know theres plenty of vets on MR-H), wreck a place, take the guys stuff/coin/etc, and run off home, with no sort of ability for the person to counter attack, unless the jerkface who destroyed the stuff in the first place pokes his head back into wild territory, when both people are online, and are close enough to actually engage. Which really makes a suggestion someone made earlier the only decent solution (not sure how hard this would be to implement tho): If player A attacks or steals from player B, all writs, and items within player A's possession/control become up for grabs for the next 24 hours or so to player B, regardless of server. Basically make stealing what it really is, A declaration of war between two people. Honestly, I dont know what else you would call stealing besides that anyhow, so it kinda makes sense the more I think about it. Obviously, just like any game mechanic, there are ways to abuse this, or get around it, but if, at minimum, Player A was made "flagged" for pvp due to his theft, and a 24 hour timer for Player B was started (meaning, 24 hours Player A time, so if they log out, they dont just get off scott free, when they log back in? 23 hours 59minutes left on the war timer between them and player they would at least have some chance of at least hitting the jerk upside the head for their actions. Perfect? No. Gives you a chance for revenge? Yes. Also: Declarations of war should be able to cross server borders, say my village wanted to go to war with another village in wild, pvp should be able to cross over that border, just like it can on Home already. This would let MR-H villages have agreed upon wars with their JK-Wild counterparts.
  9. Event messages

I was under the impression that Fo priests could not attack, is this a priest glitch? (i've also gotten the message, but taking a guess as to what may be causing this issue for Pope) Edit: Are you a Fo priest, pope?
  10. Family gamers

My wife plays when able to, and my 14 month daughter likes to attack the keyboard sometimes when I'm playing.
  11. Smoking

I dont like cigs in their current form with all the wonderful goodness thats added, (you know that stuff that actually harms you, past the blackening of the lungs part, and the part that gives most of that icky smell, instead of the plant) but I also notice you went on quite a long rant there, that seems to be directed more at your jerky fellow tenant down stairs, maybe you should get some firecrackers and drop them near him, since he obviously isn't getting the hint. Basically, I'm not a fan of smoking, or people who go on long rants about things like smoking, when theres much much worse things going on, like all the other wonderful stuff we're putting into the air besides cig smoke. etc etc
  12. Clear this up

Its one of those really girly sounding names that can be male or female, not sure if thats the case here though.
  13. Thanks Rolf

Yes I must add to the "thanks rolf"'s, as soon as boats are sped up a bit (and/or wind is adjusted a tad more) and the recent mine glitches are fixed, we'll be smooth sailing (no pun intended).
  14. As time goes on and more words fill this thread I'm beginning to realize just how perfect for wurm he is, if any of you guys would like to offer him a spot in your village, i'm sure he'd appreciate it as he's obviously in need of some back up right now.
  15. Wurm Online: We're all jerks at some point or another!
  16. More like make a fence home for it, and charge admission.
  17. Recently I've tried mentoring those I see having issues in Kchat, sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes I'm not. (more often than not I seem to end up with a neighbor ) But honestly, there is a certain type of person that will put themselves through the kind of torture that wurm brings. The problem is trying to strive a balance in the beginning between hand-holding and kicking you in the face and saying "RTFM!". Otherwise, its as stated above, we end up with people crying "omg this isn't like the tutorials!"
  18. You know, I've heard this thing about no trees or spots to forage near NT, and I swore when I first started I went north across the landbridge PE maintains, and chopped a tree. Then when it was forage time, I had to go off into the woods a bit for 5-10 minutes, but I got that darned lingonberry.. The thing that helped me most, was actually reading the text the guide told me, and I see this as the main problem with the tutorial. Most people who are asking "how do I chop a tree?" in jk chat didn't even read what they were just told! The game spells it out in plain english, not sure whats so hard about the current guide missions if you use a little logic when trying to finish them.. "hmm, trees at new town are off limits, wow I see a literal forest of trees in all directions, maybe I should go away from NT, and cut a tree there? No, I'll just yell about it in JK Chat!" Maybe we need to make the tutorial required, and make it a small island like many have suggested, I personally hate this, as I think one of the requirements for Wurm should be basic reading comprehension, and find the current guide more than adequate. But seeing people who've played weeks at a time and still can't figure out basic tasks kinda bothers me, when the game sits and holds your hand, giving you huge explanations on how to do everything that is required to start out. TL;DR version: learn 2 read olol.
  19. Just curious what ever came of this, especially since you even went to the trouble of screening your items before crossing (smart thinking ) were you able to get anything at all back?
  20. Looks like a case of CM bashing, better be careful guys, you're asking for "trouble"
  21. No, thats not trolling, thats using a forum on the internet, and until you guys realize that this kind of garbage goes hand in hand with internet forums, we're gonna have a lot less people around here. I left two days ago to go on vacation and before I left I checked the forums, someone was posting pictures of dead bodies and other horrible things, THAT is trolling, sarcasm and jokes are not.
